so what're your pc specs?

It might turnout like FF13 i.e. neither console versions has the absolute advantage.ronvalencia
The PS3 has the absolute advantage by far, besides everything you noted (frame rate drop for much better visuals ; sometimes), the CGI of the PS3 is running in HD. The 360 CGI was practically ruined, for the full FFXIII experience, there is no contest on which version is absolute. I didn't even have to mention the sound, for audiophiles out there.

Yap,that i agree with.ALTHOUGH,we still haven't seen SP and in general SP is always better looking and in this case it should be even more pronounced.cough * *haze* cough.I remember Crysis MP man that was looking meh... :)
It does not matter if it ends up like this since I was alyways planing to get it on PC(as well on consoles) I just wanted to see can Crytek put everything from high settings PC Crysis to consoles.
psn8214
Good man.I too was intrigued in the console versions, but I think the demo showed us a number of things. Typically, if a game looks better in singleplayer it doesn't eliminate engine faults, like pop-in, poor AF, and that odd AA. Plus there's no way that we'll be seeing DirectX11 effects in the game, which puts out any hope of them pulling off a scaled down high settings version. It's a shame, really, because with smarter resource allocation, this game could look incredible on consoles, but you have to remember that 1.) Crytek has always been a PC dev first, and 2.) this is their first outing on consoles, so people who are dissapointed ought to cut them some slack. Anyways, the PC version will be incredible so we're both set! :P
Yap...AF and AA really break the immersion IMO.I dunno its trillinear AF I think but UC2 did much better job with masking it,proly cus it did not have that Edge AA blurring.
This and release of superdupper powered PSP2 makes me want new consoles...at least in 2012,I think that would be fair to expect.Im sorry but 512mb in 2011 is big NO-NO
Anyway,yea...we are good to go!The rig will be waiting Crysis 2 in the corner of my room...waiting to tear it apart :P

[QUOTE="ronvalencia"]
Well, i'm not going to waste my time anymore. Djsifer already said everything. Many games on PS3 use HDR + true HD + anti-aliasing. Examples : Uncharted games, GT games, GOW3. Even if MSAA was a problem, MLAA is much better. GOW3 has the best anti-aliasing on consoles. Once again, not a single game using HDR on 360 is able to work in true HD. Some examples : PGR3 - Halo games - Crysis 2. If my memory is good, 360 can't use HDR + anti-aliasing too. All 720p games on 360 don't have any HDR as those using anti-aliasing. As said Leadbetter :"Few games on 360 run with 'proper' HDR. Halo 3 is one of them, but this comes at a cost of a sub-HD resolution and no anti-aliasing." http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/final-fantasy-xiii-how-will-it-work-on-360-article?page=2 (fourth paragraph) Anyway, that's not the main point : PS3 exclusives are simply unmatched ! Too easy... bye ^^yellowise
As for FF13, Read http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-final-fantasy-xiii-face-off?page=2
You want resolution, go for PS3. You want frame rates, go for Xbox 360.
framerate is the same on both versions.
global framerate avg. - 360 29.92 fps
global framerate avg. - ps3 29.95 fps
Lens of truth
if you want HD, and 1080p uncompressed cutscenes, go for the ps3.
if you want very low sub HD resolutions, and compressed to hell cutscenes, go for the 360 version.
If you want to avoid a BAD game altogether, don't buy either. :P
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-final-fantasy-xiii-face-off?page=2 The context was "It's interesting to note that the character close-ups are seemingly no problem for the 360: 30FPS is maintained while PS3 struggles. "[QUOTE="ronvalencia"]It might turnout like FF13 i.e. neither console versions has the absolute advantage.SolidTy

The context was for non-CGI i.e. Crysis 2 aims for 100 percent real time.
Using lensoftruth is a double edge sword i.e. in http://www.lensoftruth.com/?p=18555
It has "the Xbox 360 has a slightly better filter distance"

After playing the beta, I can definitely say that it looks great.
With that being said, I feel that it plays kind of like CoD, but without the nice, smooth 60fps CoD offers (of course I'm just talking about the feel of the controls, not stealth/armor powers and whatever else is in Crysis).

No.They use R11G11B10 and its not top of the line but thats default one.Read through latest Crytek PDF papers "Reaching speed of light" its much improved over the default one,with more precision.And PS3 also does not use NAO32 because its to bandwidth heavy.

Speaking of resolution, someone was looking inside the config file for the demo which goes with the PC and PS3 versions...
And found something very interesting...
http://forum.beyond3d.com/showpost.php?p=1517029&postcount=1377
Console Global Resolution:
r_Width = 1280 r_Height = 720
PS3
r_Height = 704???
Will the final build be in actual 720p? Will the PS3 version be 1280x704??? WTF?
I guess more will be discovered for pixel counters as the news develops...

Yea...that 704 is weird...
i don't understand why cows are making such a big deal about 360 games being hyped as the best looking games on consoles, then being proven wrong when they end up not looking as good as some PS3 exclusives.Seriously, since like 2006 cows have been making endless threads about 'the PS3 will overtake the 360 in sales this year', or 'the PS3 has a better overall games library than the 360 now' or 'The 360 is maxed out now (hell, that started a couple months after the first Gears of War game)' and have been proven wrong again and again. Yet when it comes to the one thingthe PS3 is ahead in, you guys keep trying to call the argument as being over, even when games like Gears of War 3 are on the horizon.

i dont see the big deal here.. am sure if Crysis2 ends up being a great game nobody will worry much about the game being sub HD.. I still think Crysis2 on 360 looks great..
This is why love being a PC gamer. 8) You don't have to worry about all these sub-HD nonsense. I will be enjoying Crysis 2 in FULL HD 1080P on my new XFX HD 6950 which I have unlocked to a HD 6970. :D
Seriously, if Xbox 360 guys are this upset about it being sub-HD you guys should just get a gaming rig. After all you guys wasted $300 on Xbox Live, a service we get for FREE on the PC through Steam and it's 10X better than Xbox Live with awesome deals on games. With the $300 you guys spent on Xbox Live it would have covered 1/2 to 2/3 the cost of a new gaming rig in the $400-$600 price range. You could even gotten a high end graphics card like a HD 6950 and unlocked to a HD 6970 within these price range. It would be great bang for your buck.

Sometimes I'll change ME2 to 720p for a good laugh.I find these news of it being sub-hd very awkward. In the same forum that the so-called "pixel counter" came from they have unveiled the cvar file for Crysis 2 and it clearly states that the game is set to run at 1280x720. People (as in PS3 fanboys) are too eager to bring the game down, hoping that it will be crap only for the sake of other peoples disappointement.
