I get told i have poor taste, low standards because i like what i like. As if there is an objective definition of good taste? It's like beauty, it's always in the eye of the beholder. If someone says i have poor taste because. I like something they don't, then logically they have poor taste because they like something i don't. Usually they fall back on "other people agree with me" as if that proves anything but they follow popular opinion.
