I've paid 50.00 a year for live for five years now...why do I not feel cheated?

Why am I not outraged. Why do I not hate Microsoft? Why do I own a PS3 and still make all of my DLC purchases on my 360?

Xbox Live is an amazing online service and well worth the money since it doesn't piss me off like PSN tends to.

Wow $250 on just live, i personally would feel very cheated, especially since most of the games i play online are mutli plats. I would always think thats atleast 5 games i could have bought, or even an entire new console.

Same thing happens to me when i buy a controller. I always think its money i could've spent on a game, so i always put it off.

I just got SOCOM, and I bet you anything the community there is better.

Honestly, the low score means all the COD4 riff raff just arnt there, everyone is actually interested in gaming, and most have played SOCOM before, are in clans, and generally very nice. On my first game I had huge amihts of help over the mic about how to use the controls, and generally how to play effectively.

People just talked normally, none of the infamous idiots playing solja boy over the mics. I can easily say i was even just as happy talking to people when i died (which is helpful as Im still a n00b, I die a lot, andmost games dont have respawn :P )

I don't think you should feel outraged. I used to buy $120 shoes and I wasn't outraged. However, they weren't $60 better than other shoes. A lot of people feel xbl isn't $50 better than PSN. Not much to argue about really.

Really? Are some people in such dire finantial circumstances that you must choose between a game and Xbox Live?

If that's so, gaming shouldn't be a priority.

Yea anyone who is paying $50 a year to play online is being ripped off. Sony offers pretty much the same level of service and they don't charge for it. $50 a year does not sound like much but over the whole generation you will spend like $300. Those $300 dollars can buy you a neext generation console when it comes out...

PC,Wii,PS3 all have free online yet xbox it isn't. Even the argument you get what you pay for is useless since live is not THAT much better than the free stuff.

I payed 20$ for 3 months, and now I've had free Xbox Live for the last 3 year thanks to arguing with Microsoft over their faulty hardware. :)

Probably 'cause if you're like me, you would'a just spent that extra money on garbage anyways.

That is very true.Didint MS try to charge for online play for PC a couple of months ago. I think it wzs when they introduced games for windows live. I experianced XBL and I honestly dont see the huge diff between that and PSN. There are some neat features like instant invite,private and party chat,but its not50 bucks worth in my eyes.

That's all just flat wrong. Worse than Wii's online :roll: (and yes I owned a Wii and we sold it because neither I nor my then 12yo son enjoyed much on it). And while PSN is a very good service and improving it by no means "destroys" Live. As for it being $50 it should be cheaper (or free even) but as long as people are willing to pay for it there's no incentive for MS to do it. But $50 once a year isn't much in the grand scheme of things, I think paying for DLC that is basically just unlocking content that's already on the disc is a much bigger issue.

I'm a proud PS3 owner and I will glady pay Sony for an experience similar to Xbox Live. While its not that much better, I still find LIVE alot more social than PSN. And even if it WASN'T better, I'd STILL pay a reasonable fee to play online. And you people that say $250 over 5 years is alot.. keep in mind that that's only $4.16 a month..

Thats like saying "OMG if you didnt buy a soda a week after all these years, you would've saved $250"

Listen if you had to pay for other the other little nicnats of xbl fine I wouldint mind,but paying for online play is just unfair to the consumer. Especially when everyone els lets you play online for free.
