Mr. Iwata is 100% correct. Â
The problem with the wiiu is that it is a poor product. Â People will happily pay for a product if it will deliver a good experience.
Persistent problems include the horrible battery life, miniscule hard drive (actually flash memory or whatever), the range of the controller (which is a bit too short), as well as arguably some ergonomic issues with the controller.
Not only that, but the "Deluxe" model really ought to have been the Basic. Â The Basic is substandard as it is today. Â It's just smart to include a game with a console. Â It's smart to give a subcription to your online service to encourage people to try it. Â It's smart to include plastic stands and those types of things. Â It's smart to have at least enough memory storage for people to be able to try out your online store. Â
Nintendo has to scrap that horrid Basic model that is making their product synonymous with substandard design. Â Just have "Deluxe" and introdude a new "Super Deluxe" that has a much bigger hard drive, better battery in the controller, some re-design, and maybe even a better game included. Â Then again, Nintendoland is a smart game to include because it does showcase the console capabilities. Â Maybe just have nicer plastic stands insteadÂ
