Anyways that does seem like a whole hell of a lot of copys of SMG. I am interest in seeing how it does stateside. Their are just so many wii's, I would think maybe 1.5 million in the first week.

probably because of ace combat 6. A lot of people might think that it is another war sim like so many western devs make but that is not the case. It is an example of japanese support for the 360, and I find it definitely feels like a japanesegame, especially with the artistic and fantasy elements to it

You see lemmings? When the Xbox 360 actually gets a good appealing game for the Japanese audience it sells well. Do this on a regular basis like the PSP and despite the systems horribel localization and advertising it might actually sell a few units.

no it is not region free. The only reason a person in the US may want it would be to download Japan VC games.

Blue Dragon proved that last year, Lost Odyssey will push more systems than Ace Combat 6.

Well I wouldn't say that Blue Dragon was a "good game" but many seem to disagree with me. The problem with the 360 is that it gets these games extremely far and few inbetween. What was the last good appealing Japanese game on the platform? Eternal Sonata? That was months and even seasons ago in Japan and what was the last before that? Blue Dragon? If Microsoft wants the 360 to break into the Japanese market place, it needs to get these games at a regular basis. The PS3 has an excuse because the Playstation brand is very well known there, the Wii accomplishes what it does, the "XBox" name however if entirely unknown to the Japanese market place. So if Microsoft wants to break into their they have to do better then their competitors.

I think the title will have great legs. I'm expecting it to break a million easily. Whether it reaches 2+ million is another story. It's possible that the game catches on through word of mouth. Only time will tell.

The typical Japanese gamer will wait until a day or so before the game they want is out and this will explain large spikes in sales for hardware as well as the software. (Blue Dragon, Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core)

SMG will have good legs in Japan, I'm not concerned about it's life time sales in the region.

I think the most interesting thing that's going to happen is the Lost Odyssey release for the Xbox 360. Atleast to me, I want to see the effect it has on sales and to what degree. I predict 100,000 sales it's first week and 200,000 - 300,000 life time sales in Japan. With a hardware sales spike that will push the Xbox 360 to or close to 600,000.

NO. Unless it's FF,Pokemon or DQ don't expect that. Mario is a casual game in Japan and will sell millions...SLOWLY.
