Im with you, I love JRPGs as well, but I like Oblivion just as much if not better, and I havent seen any FPS coming from Japan that come close to the U.S. ones...
On my 360 I have 2 Japanese games, 1 American game, 2 UK games and one Canadian game. GTA 4 and Mass Effect are the next two games I plan to buy for the system. So for this generation I would probably say the Uk or Canada.

Bioware is Canadian? Yeah. Based in Edmonton. I can't explain why anyone would be based in Edmonton but they are. I can't think of any other off the top of my head but I think there are some other good Canadian developers. But Bioware and Ubi Montreal are AAA machines.
Nowadays, its hard to distinguish Japanese from US because all the *** developers are starting to copy Western gaming (it's pretty well known already so no citation needed). I personally hope that the *** developers continue to make their quirky fun games, but at same time, provide us with their own version of their Western games.
japanese games. 90% of games made in america are either FPS, or GTA clones. imo Japanese games are more original.

The GTA developer Rockstar North is actually a UK developer believe it or not. Or were you just saying the clones of the game come from American developers?

Yeah I probably do too because of the number of PC games I play but I think I prefer the styling of UK developers even though they aren't as prolific. Rare, Lionhead, Psygnosis (Sony Liverpool today and probably not as good as they used to be, much like Rare really)Â and Rorthstar North in particular.

That said though, Japan's reponsible for some of the greatest franchises of all time and technically the revival of console gaming (Nintendo with the NES), so I guess my vote's mainly with them by default.
I love action adventure games and RPGS both currently imo japan makes the better of, so right now I like japanese games more. But games like God of War might make me change my opinion... lets see some more like that come down the pipe please.

So you hate Metal Gear Solid, Zelda, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry? Ok. For me easily Japanese developed games, but I like some western stuff like Gears of WAr and God of War.
I would have to go with american , I do like RPG's too but I'm tired of playing RPGs with blue-headed/multi-colored hair characters(yellow-belly bastards thats what I used to call em) , and silly cartoon games I'm a grown man now so I put away childish games, I like american games because I can get my grown man on with Halo, Gears, NBA Live, and GTA Japan still makes better cars though!!!!
exactly... from japan i like games like mgs, zelda (dont own it; but played a lot at a friend's house)... emmm, blue dragon, lost odyssey... from the US i like well...ok... if u include canadian publishers and european then a lot more than japanese games.. but it all depends on the type..
I don't base my purchases on where they are made. That said, there are more "western" games in my collection than Japanese, mainly because I dislike JRPGs.
