The top game was Monster Hunter Freedom 2 for PSP selling 755,500 copies in its first week. If PSP was dead like alot of the fanboys here say then Capcom just brought it back to life.

you have no position in calling the PS3 a flopp..Just look at the 360 sales..5 thousands..lmao..and PSP is doing good but it wont still beat DS Lite..but the only the that matter is the the PSP survived and still goin decently strong..
  The PSP's sales have somewhat improved. In my opinion, this is because it recently started having better games released for it. I had no interest in the PSP at first, but games like Dracula X Chronicles and Power Stone Collection are starting to tempt me.

the japanese MH is called Monster Hunter Portable 2nd or MHP 2nd not MHF2 that is the name of the US version. MHP2nd got record pre-orders and record sales for the PSP. i cant wait for that game.

I honestly dont know either but it outsold every DS game combined last week. Thats pretty impressive in Japan. This game could definately be called a system seller.

The GCN wouldn't have received as many sales as it did if it wasn't the cheapest I think..there really wasn't any reason to buy it aside from Nintendo titles and a handful of third-party games. Exactly, I don't get these comments either. Here's the thing, the DS doesn't cost $200. Why even bring that up? The fact that it's $100 more is a srtike against the psp, not the DS.

Yeah, I know. Price doesn't make a significant effect, though, unless the price differences are huge. Contrary to Bren128's belief, the DS isn't outselling the PSP because of price.
1. VG charts... ill wait for the MC numbers 2. no question PSP did well.. for ONE WEEK.. couldnt even beat the DS even when its biggest game for this year launched..

Don't change the subject. PS3 is going to be second in Japan. :lol: And we all know why the 360 isn't selling good in Japan even though it has more Japanese games than the PS3 does.

xbox 360 sell good in NA and Europe only. true what? XBOX360 is also worldwide. Shocker that Sony a Japanese company is doing better in Japan.
My god all i've heard from this thread is "DS is still doing better!" This is very impressive for the PSP especially since the Japanese right now were infatuated with the DS. The DS will still be the king of portable systems but its good to see the PSP picking up some steam up there. And I hope developers are taking notes, they can learn alot from this game and Capcom.

That's what happens when you get a really popular game released on your system. Kinda like what happened with the DS when Pokemon was released, or what'll happen with the DS again when Dragon Quest IX is released. Good job Capcom selling your game.

NO. Just a friendly warning, the game is not worth it, espeically if you have the Dreamcast versions. The load times kill the game. The gameplay is kinda unspectacular 7 years afterwards, but when it takes almost twice as long to load a game as it takes to finish the battle, it kinda kills the fun, unless you get your jollies by looking at loading screens.
