I really haven't had a positive experience with any Halo games, except the first one. All the others have pretty much been a disappointment. So I except to be let down again really.

Even a juggernaut franchise like Halo could use some help when backed against the wall by games like GT5 and God of War III, Reach is at this point the best hope for a stellar 360 exclusive in 2010.

To those who are skeptical about Reach because "It won't change much", is change REALLY worth it? I mean, change to certain franchises (Banjo-Kazooie) could cause the franchise to crash & burn, it could also tarnish the Developer's reputation. People bringing up GT5 like they have proof that it will sell like its predecessors. Bare in mind that we haven't had a real GT game since 2005 and guess what? The Forza franchise has pushed the genre forward since then, so why would GT5 be this huge savior. The reason GT has been so popular is because it didn't have a rival on consoles, even back in 1998 when GT1 launched. People still love Halo because it is traditional - The greatest evolution of tradition and it's currently the king of what it does. Gran Turismo? How can you accurately say when we wouldn't have had a GT game in FIVE YEARS once GT5 launches.Vadamee

Discussion about the future of how Halo Reach will play out. I'm not sure what the big deal is, Halo is a popular subject all across the board here from every fanboy base.

There's been countless number of threads bashing Halo in general. And you're bothered by one thread with a mere few hundred posts in it? Many of the posts dominated by multiple users. You can equate a few hundred posts to why it sells millions? Did I read that right? Doesn't evolve one bit? Is that supposed to be some kind of bait to see how many users can come at you? I surely hope you weren't being serious in saying that.

No, it's like saying what I said. KZ isn't the sales equivalent to the franchise and neither is a Halo along the lines of a ODST or Reach. Anyone who has a sliver of rationale wouldn't expect a game with no media or marketing to outsell a franchise that averages 10 million a game, peaked at 14 +, and hasn't dipped lower than 9.

If they add the kind of intense action that Halo needs to this new engine, then I actually care more about this game. Until they show gameplay, there should be nothing said about how amazing it will be, etc.

It's really the lack of intensity or immersivenessthat really keeps me away from enjoying Halo games. Uncharted 2 was such a visceral experience that it's going to tough to even be up to par with that. Killzone 2 definitely as the immersiveness that we should be seeing in all next gen games. Mass Effect does it better too. I can list off more and more games too.

Yet the Prologue to the game sold almost 4 million.

It stands to reason that GT5 will sell similarly.

Comparing two racing games across seperate platforms makes less sense than comparing to a racing game of the same franchise, on the same platform.
