Just played Gears 2 again.. Much better graphics and MP than Uncharted 2

Gears 2 is an incredibly satisfying game, mainly the multiplayer. Although it lays an INCREDIBLE emphasis on teamwork and tactics, it can be a discouraging experience often due to lag, or playing it lone-wolf.

That being said, having played both UC 2 and Gears 2 extensively, it is safe to say that Gears 2 MP is overall a much more deep and rewarding experience than UC 2, but UC 2 has the potential for a hell of a better time.

The diffrence between UNC2 cutsceens and acutaly gameplay is viertually seemless, theres many cutscenes when they role directly into gameplay. The only diffrence is dramatic camera angles and maybe some extra AA and that is it. Its far diffrent then a game like Gears that actually pops in more textures for the cutscenes.

Today for some reason i was craving some Gears 2 big time. I havent played the game in about 7 months, so i decided to play it again online and i was mistaken, Its a much more fun and better looking game than Uncharted 2. It just has a certain fun factor and spark that U2 doesnt have. The weapons feel great and heavy, the sound of the weapons sound great, its more intense, the character models are miles better than that found on U2 and just overall its such a fantastic game and one of the best games this gen by far.

The eniroments in U2 might look a little bit better but just the overall look of the game Gears 2 just looks better especially in art direction.

It used 2MSAA at all times during gameplay not sure what it adds for cutscenes. Yes you can notice jaggies in some places but you really do have to stare at the screen. UNC2 overall looks far better then screenshots posted overall as the game simply looks so much better in motion . The AA in UNC2 is actually pretty clean overall and never did it distract from the game.

UNC2 - 1280x720, 2xAA, 0xAF 30fps, low-resolution textures, poor lighting and shadows, huge loading times.
Gears1 - 1920x1200, 8xAA, 16xAF, 100fps, high-resolution textures, better lighting and shadows, small loading times.

Anyone who says that Uncharted 2 looks better than Gears of War 2 is a biased fanboy. It is proven that Gears of War 2 is a graphically superior game that is combined with stellar gameplay. Gears of War 2 is a better game than Uncharted 2 in every possible comparable category.

Man, this has been bugging me for a while now...judging by your sig, if you're 50/50 loyal to the PS3 and 360, doesn't that make you...NOT a fanboy if you basically only hate the Wii and PC (if you do)? I thought they were only loyal to one system :?. Anyway, I'll take your word on Gears 2 having a better MP...on account I haven't tried it on Uncharted 2 :P. As for graphics, I'll say they're even. Both look damn fine, and my TV only goes up to 1080i (which defaults to 720 majority of the time anyway) so you could say I don't get the full benefit :P. DethSkematik
