Just To Clear This Up PS3 Will Outsell 360 This Holiday

I think I'll go buy some Sony stock real quick since you gave us all this inside info on upcoming PS3 sales.

many people claim me quoting the people in my signature is ridiculous. well yes i do realize that ps3 has failed to outsale 360 every month this year except for march and august. when i say ps3 will outsale 360 i am speaking as in worldwide numbers. so i will say it againin worldwide numbersps3 will sale more hardware this november and december combined then ms.-Renegade

A price drop will help, but what game is going to fuel the increased sales? UT3 would have helped. I don't think very many people will buy a PS3 when Uncharted and R&C come out. Especially worldwide where PS3 prices are even more exorbitant than the US.

I think when casuals see

PS3 - 500 dollars

XBOX 360 - 350 dollars

And then they look at the games and see:

PS3 - small collection of new games in new series

XBOX 360 - more games in more series, plus Halo 3

That they'd choose the 360 over the PS3.

Halo 3 alone is going to outsell the PS3.

I don't see anything changing since the 360 is still cheaper and has more games out right now.

The PS3 is still expensive (even @ $400) and not a single big franchise has made an appearance yet. The PS3 is going to struggle until it starts getting back to the basics of GT5, MGS4, and FF13.

I have to agree here. There is NOTHING on the PS3 worth owning one this holiday season.

none of those games will have sales comparable to Halo 3's.

People who already own PC's will get those other games but very few people will get a new PC for christmas with those games.

People who buy their 360's might supplement their Halo 3 with CoD4 or HL2:OB I guess.

America has sustained the 360 on it's own. Listen to Square if you dont believe me. The 360 has more games sold month in and out. While system sales are all nice and good to a Manufacturer of said systems. Games sold matter to the dev's. Ask EA about their Madden numbers and how 360 outsold PS3 and Wii combined. Sometimes I think people overlook the most simple facts, just to twist the most difficult situations.akuma303x

That is an absolute FACT since that exact same situation happened yesterday at my local Walmart where a kid (young teen) had his father buy him a next gen console. Both the 360 and PS3 were there in stock and they both looked at the prices and what was offered. I was looking at PSP games and listened in on their convo. Both the parent and kid agreed the 360 was the better offer and Halo 3 sealed the deal once the kid saw it was in stock as well.I see this same scenario happening everywhere this holiday season except in Japan.

Japan makes it possible. The PS3 might sell better in sheer volume, but it will be outsold in the U.S. and Europe. It's only in Japan that it will outsell the 360, and therefore might have greater overall sales.

Yeah? Because the Japanese market is totally that big as to where if the 360 outsells the PS3 everywhere else, Japan will still seal the deal.
