Kameo vs. Fable 2 graphical comparision (no 56k)

People used to post screens about Mass Effect not looking up to par. For awhile, I secretly agreed with them because the game wasn't as good as it was hyped. Then I plugged in HD and set it up like some guy here told me to.

Needless to say, I no longer trust screenshots much anymore.

Any Dev can make the greatest looking game ever as long as the entire game takes place in a small hall with very few enemies.....

I found Oblivion very boring to navigate. The cities were big and pretty, but the NPCs had ridiculous "schedules"(standing infront of a wall for six ingame hours and then going home to stare at a wall all day is not a schedule) and they were boring to interact with. If Fable 2 has even slightly more interactive towns, I'll be very pleased.-TheSecondSign-

Even the original Fable had more city interaction than Oblivion, people would respond to you (whether you were good or evil, whether they were attracted sexually to you or not) they had routines based on the times of day and most had jobs and would go home at night.

I think it looks awesome. I used to go "Huh, this doesn't look like I thought" until I tried full HD and fiddled with the graphics settings.

Needless to say, I was amazed by what I saw, it looks incredible.

Let's see now Fable 2 cities

Yeah, Oblivion was pretty bare when it came to interaction, and the interaction it did have was retarded. I shouldn't have to joke, then coerce, then intimidate, then complement some guy so I can make him like me more, and the dialogue and actions they made in general were done so poorly I nearly burst out laughing during some of them.

If some guy came up to me, cracked a joke, then threatened me, then tried to be my friend, then said nice things about me, I'd be creeped out.

You could be bringing up something important that is actually a problem like PS3 games that are solely designed for online play not including voice chat or games like Mass Effect having tech issues that are unacceptible yet you want to target and stir up fans of some game that you don't even care about.

Maybe you are a big fan of Fable because normally people don't attack things they don't have some sort of emotional stake in and in that case then you can fire away at it if it is dissappointing you but I doubt you are a fan and if you are not a fan then you are just trying to annoy people.

Fable 2 isn't coming out for like another year or so. They have plenty of time to tighten the graphics up. And I would argue that the F2 forest is = to the kameo forest, the only difference is the kameo one is more stylized and bright while the F2 one is more reaslistic.eo12601

First Fable 2 forest has trees everywhere, not 4-5 sparse ones, that create a REAL forest, so from scratch there is no contest

Now add real time shadows and sun volumetric beams that move with the sun, and Kameo looks like 1-2 generations behind

Add that grass is shadowed in real time, as sun moves, and that the day/night cycles make everything look totally different, while Kameo shadows remain static at all times

Add the fact that Fable 2 is free roaming, meanign that forest is 10-20x more huge than what we see in Kameo, that is a few trees here and there

Add the VASTLY more detail around, not flat ground on Fable 2 too

All in all, there is NO comparisson, Fable 2 forest is some MILLION of miles ahead

Kameo is more pretty,(one of those shots is N64 i think)

Fable is nice looking,albeit more technically impressive

Kameo = launch title,upgraded form N64

Fable = console 2 years on built from scratch

All one needs to do is look at the superior lighting and notice that there is no ridiculously over done, spit shine, plastic looking bloom in order to hide textures in the available Fable 2 footage and the contest is over. All other arguing from that point is merely differing opinions on which artstyle is the best, lol. And that of course is in the eye of the beholder.

You people understand AT ALL that the size of the game matters (area)? You people never seem to factor that VERY important aspect of graphics and the game. Uncharted looks really good but its small as hell and has no multiplayer = more time spent on single player and more detail goes into it. This is why Crysis utterly destroys all other games, it has a HUGE area and it looks THAT good EVERYWHERE.MrGrimFandango

I think Kameo might be the better looking game. Fable 2 is far from impressive, but I do love the art.karasill

yeah i know, its actually hard to say which one is better, none of them look good on a technical stand point, but artistically they are both great

I personally think that when someone says that, it really comes down to them (knowingly or unknowingly) just prefering the artstyle. All technical talk aside, maybe some people think that it is the most impressive still in development game on the horizon because they just happen to like the looks of it personally.

Now, speaking for myself, I do not think that it is the "best looking game" on the horizon, lol. But I will say that I think from a strictly artistic standpoint, one would certainly have a very good argument for "best looking game" from what little we have seen. Of course this is again....in the eye of the beholder.

In any event, trying to compare an unfinished game graphically to a finished one is an epic fail anyway in my book.

Actually, no....I was very critical of Halo 3's graphics. The character models looked like they were on the original Xbox (see review in my profile). Great game though.

Nice, still ignoring one fine little detail....Fable 2 is still in development. And if you know anything about developing games, you would know that most of the graphical polish is done last. And as far as UNFINISHED GAMES go....Fable 2 is looking beautiful considering the art****it is using. You say the lighting is the same in all next gen games? LMAO....whatever you say. I guess next you will tell me there is no difference in how the lighting is used, right?
