The hits just coming with this guy. "Hey developers, we hate you on purpose. We want our console to be a nightmare to develop for and we want it to cost you a lot. Have fun!" I hope the economic problems send this guy packing. Sony deserves better. BioShockOwnzThank you - I couldn't have phrased that better myself...
[QUOTE="Parasomniac"]All it did was piss developers off and resulted in a ton of horrible multiplat ports.ZIMdoomExactly. Even if that was literally their reason...it is never good to upset your developers. Sony can make the hardware as "difficult" as they want, but they should provide the proper tools for developers that, at the very least, allow them to program/port a basic game easily. Make it hard to master but easy to enter into.
i completely agree with this post
For everyone laughing at this it makes perfect sense. Make a console that slowly improves over time instead of a console which you see the best it possess in the first few years then that's it. Same reason the psp was limited at half its current processing power till recently.PrinceofSarcasm
OR
you could have the console easier to develop for from the jump and get BETTER developed games SOONER
which leads to MORE high quality games from the start of it's life cycle to finish
seriously, WHY have a console limited during the start of it's life cycle.......why make it hard to develop for on purpose......why make developers' jobs harder just for the sake of doing it.....
what benefits come from this
really, i would like to know!

Reminds me of math teachers who want you to write out the problem instead of using a calculator. Who the hell cares how the problem gets solved as long as the end result is correct? Likewise, why would you want to hinder developers from creating the best possible games on your platform from the get-go? Why intentionally make it more difficult? I s'pose you could use the excuse that, "You gain more knowledge and experience that way." but as a consumer - just like a student - I just want the end result.

It makes NO sense to do this. Why make a machine that has to slowly eek it's way from 50 to 100 on the power scale instead of one that is 100 from the get go?
i feel bad for cows at times like this... kaz is truly insane.3picuri3There must be something in the water that slowly causes insanity. Ken Kutaragi was a normal dude but as time went on his quotes got crazier and crazier till they axed him. Kaz steps in and is fairly normal, but as time goes by he slowly is becoming as nuts as KK was. I mean, this interview shows him to be delussional and completely unaware of reality.
