It's a fine fit, but I got the impression David Hayter really cared about the role and obviously Kiefer Sutherland doesn't. If they're trying to make the performance more personal, that's not going to help.

I still kind of suspect that Kojima will be on stage talking during the Sony conference, and Hayter will run in, CQC him and say "I'm Snake now!"

Eh... Kinda conflicted. As much as I originally loved Hayter, I felt his VA was far too forced in MGS4.

Bang on the money. Hayter will only be missed because he's been Snake for so long and we're used to it but in reality his Voice Acting isn't that good. It's passable. But his voice lacks any sort of emotion when he has to force that gargle

Sutherland will eb able to do sooooo much more with his voice seen as it's in its natural state and when Jack Baeur whispers or talks quietly it's Godly lol plus it's full Mocap acting and Sutherland would walk circles around Hayter in proper 3D space acting

Couldn't agree more. Hayter will always be Snake, but it was getting beyond ridiculous... I'll chalk it up to directing, more than Hayter's own direction, though i'm sure it was a mix of both.

Not too sure, I was kind of hoping for Gilbert Gottfried. But I think Kiefer Sutherland could do well in the role.

We all kinda knew it already but good to see it confirmed. TBH I was annoyed at first but I think he will do a badass Snake. Remember his voice in Phone Booth, he has that deep tone down that could make him sound good

Hayter is still in the game as far as we know and will be at E3 too, so maybe we will have more than 1 snake and that's why they needed Kiefer to play Big Boss?

Afterall it's about time we saw the "les enfants terrible" project in the game timeline. And we have that whole "Two phantoms" thing so maybe 2 snakes?

i'm not convinced, I think Hayter is still in the game and the reason for the change Kojima explained i don't buy.

Shouldn't Big Boss be in his late 50 during this period seeing as in MGS1 Liquid said that "Big Boss was in his late 50 when they created his copies" so Big Boss shouldn't be in his late 40.

I hope Kojima doesn't screw up the time-line.

I don't mind kiefer sutherland doing the voice or them changing it to anyone. the only problem about kiefer sutherland being snake is that whenever I hear him speak you immediately think of jack bauer and not snake. think it would have been better to use an unknown actor.

I'm cool with this, I think he has a better voice than Hayter, he's certainly a better actor.
