Killzone 2 and Gears (Poll and Graphical Comparis

This is a graphical comparison between Gears of War 1, and Killzone 2. I am Neither cow nor lemming, although i favor the ps3. once you buy one console, you can still buy another. Lems want to toat Gears 1&2 like they are God, and like they singlehandedly defeat any game on any console. Lems, i do not care about long rants talking about the 360 being "TEH SUPIRIORZ", i just want to see Your opinion. I dont want to hear "Your an IGnorant FanBoy" over and over again. flaming me means nothing, so just post your opinion.

Killzone 2 looks better.

Gears of War 2 will still look better than it though.

(Though I'm worried when the only thing Epic said is going to be better is Physics and Lighting, what about animations..textures etc? :|)

Like it or not, old or not..Gears did in fact set a graphical benchmark for gaming abroad so you will see every new game compared to Gears with shiny graphics. Just like you see every new FPS compared to Halo 3.

Edit: Gears, IMO, is still unrivaled as far as character design goes; Enviornments are lacking though, which with the improvements to the UE3, will be vastly better for GeOW2.

some are (the ones with text), but most are from the game engine (not cgi). the screens did get some color correction though.

thats not the point, this is the 360s god game that every lemming toats around with them, every time the ps3 gets an exclusive, they throw up "gears beats everything on the ps3, and always will!!!" liquid sword even asked for a comparison between that and MGS4. its not going to stop. you cant hide behind this forever lemmings.

Yeh, the Killzone lighting engine is amazing. There was a website that did an analysis of it, but it went offline. I can paste it for you if you like though?

To be fair, we've seen in-game footage of both Killzone 2 and Too Human, and Killzone 2 is vastly more impressive, graphics-wise.

And with all the time and money spent on Too Human, I'd say it does indeed have a chance of being one of the best games this year.

what about halo 3? man i love the art style! its not cartoony, its not real, its just halo with the halo color pallet.

halo is not the king but easiest game to just go and say "auh yeah! now that looks like a video game"

To be fair, we've seen in-game footage of both Killzone 2 and Too Human, and Killzone 2 is vastly more impressive, graphics-wise.

And with all the time and money spent on Too Human, I'd say it does indeed have a chance of being one of the best games this year.

Yeh, but Too Human was originally slated for the PS1, then the Gamecube, now the Xbox 360. That means they had to generate assets 3 times and dump them twice which would explain why the cost is so high. I mean, they essentially near made three epic games meaning it has to have been one of the most expensive projects ever!

My point exactly, all the time and money spent on Too Human seems to have paid off. Same with Killzone 2, hopefully.

I actually love Halo 3's art style. Looking good through using color is always better than looking good through removing color and adding light. IMO.

I think both are important. If you got no lighting, then it's pitch-black. If you got crappy textures then you'll only see pile of mud.

I was thinking the same thing. The images he used are old. I'm still waiting to see the real Killzone 2 game.

edit: i noticed some ppl said gears looks better....how can gears looks better? techincally it doesn't, its older and its not as clear as killzone 2's screens....
