Killzone 2 fails to crack 1 million units in the US

In other news, Halo 3, a 20 month old game outsold Killzone 2 last month-DrRobotnik-

Halo is a FRANCHISE. It's one of the games that define the Xbox 360. It started with the first Halo, which was a masterpiece for console FPS's. Killzone 2 is first critically acclaimed game in that franchise and Killzone 1 was not that good. Factor in PS3's total sales and the current economic recession in which KZ2 was released along with the fact that the first killzone wasn't that good enough to establish create a huge fan base, less than 1 million sales in the US is understandable. The game will continue to sell a lot in the future.

There are many other games

Fallout 3, GTA4, COD etc.

They're favoured more on the Xbox360 then the PS3.

But Halo is something else. It has become a staple now for XboxLive gaming and is a testament to good gameplay. MLG can accountfor this. There opinion and professionalism> Cow's opionion

Unlike KZ2 wich was really all looks, but not as much substance in the end.

Sony was hoping to have it's own "Halo"

Halo as a whole is what makes it so great.

An excellent and easy to get into gameplay.

A good enough story line that can expand into other media's - novels, movies, machinima(Which Halo was one of the very first games to inspire the whole craze)

An excellent multi player-Really! Halo has been around for how long now?. I still play it from time to time and is a multiplay staple on Live and MLG with added support of DLC and an expansion coming up

What's so special about KZ2? what just pretty graphics and few motion controls here and there?

How's the co-op in that game?

Why don'y you try to play KZ2 to see why it's so good (especially the fun multiplayer). The game doesn't revolutionize the genre, but it's a damn great experience that's EASILY up there with Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3. The game got great reviews too, check metacritic (scores are about 2-3 points below halo 3 and call of duty 4, which is impressive since they both came out before KZ2, so it's scored harder). It's popularity hasn't caught on though and I hope that changes because people this is a game that I feel PS3 owners should not miss out on.

All I'm saying is that some of your compliants are unwarranted and that KillZone 2 is up with best FPS's to date. I was actually one of the few Lemmings that supported KZ2.

I was hoping it would be great or a killer game on the calibur of Halo for the PS3.

Since so many Cows were adamant it would kill Halo, its graphics were awesome and such and a lot had the nerve to think that it would move sales of the PS3 to the point that it would crush the Xbox360.

But since reality and hype settled down we have come to the point of this TC's thread.

Stop letting dumb fanboys be the general consensus of what everyone thought Killzone 2 was going to do. KZ2 got released in the middle of a recession for Christ sake, lol. If it was holiday time, it would have sold better. In addition, Killzone 2 isn't a popular franchise like Halo, so it's reasonable to how it wouldn't crush it in sales. I mean now, Halo 3 is now bundled with Fable 2 in the Xbox Elite holiday pack so it will probably be harder to beat that game in sales as it's selling in these bundles (and it's a great gaming deal). This doesn't mean that KZ2 is no where close to Halo 3 in quality.

Killzone 2 has been out for about 3-4 months. MC has been in the Halo series for many years so obviously people will know him better. He doesn't do anything in Halo 3 that makes him stand out as being memorable to game. He's the MAIN CHARACTER FOR HALO who doesn't have a personality. I don't know why you won't acknowledge that, lol...
