Why are people fighting over this now? :|
Wait for them both to be released, then decide which is the better looking game.
[QUOTE="Squall_Griver"][QUOTE="PoppaLemming"]Killzone 2 will have nothing on COD4PoppaLemming
what? a 6.9 flop under it's belt? :lol::lol:
COD = AAA franchise
KZ = 6.9
COD has been proven to have great gameplay and a great story. KZ is a proven flop of astronomical proportions
So please don't flash up a couple of screenshots when you have absolutely no history of anything being released good from the company "or" the franchise itself
Funny how history is repeating itself right before our own eyes :lol:
You lost me @"COD has a Great story!"WTF?!Yea, and Unreal Tournement 3 looks and plays better than them both ... but it seems to go unoticed? the only excuse I can think of is that its never really been on the consoles before ... because Call of Duty 4 does NOT deserve its position over it ...Meu2k7
Why would you say it's gone unnoticed? It's pretty well noticed, I thought. Especially since it's onthe PS3 alongside Killzone, with extras and capabilities that 360's version won't have.
Bioshock looks better than KZ2. CoD4 looks nearly as good as Bioshock (art style smidges it ahead barely). KZ2 looks good, but not godly. That's Crysis.Tri-valley
Naw man, Bioshock is awesome and the artstyle is great but it doesn't look better than KZ2 (which has very cool art of it's own). As far as console games KZ2 outshines them. The lighting, polys, animations, art, and physics really take it to the next level.
Why do I see people comparing Crysis to KZ2. And never see it comparied 360 shooters? Crysis is in a league of its own.
I don't understand why people think killzone looks so good with such blurry textures. IMO COD4 looks better than KZ2.EG101
If you haven't watched the 25 min video GS has on KZ2 from Leipzig you should. In it, the directer said that they're still in pre-alpha, and have alot more polishing to do like with streaming and textures.
If this game looks this good now, I can't wait to see the final product.
COD 4 looks better.-wii60-
[QUOTE="-wii60-"]COD 4 looks better.WalterPaladines
Hold on, take the fanboy goggles off, then take another look....voila!
Lol priceless.
I don't understand why everyone is so "super impressed" with COD4. Since when has the COD series been known for mind-blowing graphics?
Heck, COD3 graphics were crap IMO, and they did not impress me as a "next gen" game.
I've been through this argument so many times. Sure Killzone 2 looks great, but COD4 is no slouch either. In my opinion COD4 edges out slightly. Why? Killzone 2 uses HEAVY, post-process effects to hide it's flaws. If you look at the new videos, and the new features, such as the cover mechanic, when the player hugs up to the wall, you can see the textures and how muddy and low res they are. Don't get me wrong, in motion, Killzone 2 looks awesome. The lighting again, in Killzone 2 is nice, but again it isn't dynamic. It's mostly static not moving, and fixed in place. The only time the shadows moved during that whole demo was when the lighting struck, and that was most likely scripted. Now look at COD4, the individual BULLETS light up the environment, the shadows play around as the bullet goes through it. While Killzone 2 has what, muzzle flash? COD4 has it's flaws as well. Killzone 2 has way better character models then COD4. That's for sure. Animation is also in KZ2's favor. Can't say much about the physics of either game, because they haven't shown anything for Killzone 2 or COD4. Then again we haven't seen too much of either game, but from the demo's shown thus far, I choose COD4 over KZ2 in graphical fidelity.PowerFiendWatch that KZ2 video again and look at the light when you fire a gun(shadows are cast every where)..

So one ps3 game looks better than another? GS didn't think so, COD4 got best graphics at 2007 E03. Wonder why?Heil68
I find it interesting how you consistently emphasize the opinions of others rather than make attempts to state your own.
Perhaps because you realize you only have the word of other people considered "professionals" but no substantial observations of the games through comparison.
I, for one, posit that the rendering in COD4 does not in any way compare to Killzone 2. Let's try to embrace common sense here and just look at the games. Guerilla hasn't even begun the texture polishing yet and KZ still looks better.
Stop with the pre-alpha stuff, okay. Don't you think they worked thier ass's off too make the game look almost as good as the trailer? They wouldn't just through the pre-alpha build into a PS3 and use that, it probably has alot more polish then the rest of the game which is in pre-alpha.PowerFiend

Bioshock, nor Call of Duty 4 look better than Killzone 2. This game isn't even polished yet and it is spectacular. If you saw the 25 minute graphic explanation demo, you'd understand. So much is put into this game to make it look the way it is. You must be blind to think any other game looks better than it because many people (including folks here in GameSpot such as editors) claim this is one of the best graphically-enhanced games they've ever seen on. Now, Crysis vs. Killzone 2, that's interesting. I like Killzone 2 more though. Lighting is spectacular.Albanian_KillaWoooo there. Stop right there. Crysis owns killzone 2 so hard it isn't even in the same league. Now your fanboyism is showing. And I have seen that 25 minute video, and I did see what all those post process effects do. Did you notice when he turned them off that KZ2 looked exactly like any other game coming out, even dare I say it Halo 3? Watching that 25 minute video has shown me the textures and how muddy and low res they are. I ca't beleive you would even compare Crysis too that.
In the end i could see Metal Gear Solid 4 looking better than both when its all said and done.Adrian_CloudNow that looks awsome.
Are you kidding me? So you think crysis, which requires hardware 2-3x more powerful then the Xbox360 or PS3 looks only a teeny bit better than Killzone 2. WOW.PowerFiend
yeah because its true, do you think there is that much of a gap because there is not, eveything you seen on crysis is real high settings at least $1000 (twice the amount for 360/ps3 and all that for 1 game? not worth it, saying that myself im still getting it, but still there isnt a big gap and that is something you people should realize.

when? give me a link?PowerFiend
The Guerilla dev who posts on the official Playstation boards already confirmed it there in the Killzone forum.
Also, the fact that they haven't incorporated the texture streaming yet tells it's pre-alpha all on its own.
