KZ2 got the xcores it deserved I think. It's one of my favorite shooters and MPs this gen :). Not to mention the most satisfying shooting mechanics IMO.

I'm sorry TC, but I think you're the only person in the world who thinks that ME2's gunplay is more "satisfying" :?. I also don't think it's a rip-off of Gears! I do agree that the demo has repetitive enemies (not necessarily a bad thing because they're soldiers in an army), but hell, it's a demo, and the game has more variety in character designs.

Perhaps you can rent the game and try it out. It's not expected that everyone will love or even like it. Though if you're disappointed with your PS3 purchse, I recommend playing more than a few demos :).
Killzone 2 makes me laugh so hard, it didn't sell very well compared to the hype and there were never a huge amount of people online playing the game, yet every system wars thread is flooded with people saying how great it is and so on... funny how that works.
I thought the game looked amazing, especially the lighting, but the gameplay isn't even close to being one of the best shooters on the market. The gameplay really turned off a very large amount of people, especially due to the awful deadzone in the aiming, it was a mess.
The death animations are SOOO late after the kill as well, it really drives me mad how laggy that is in MP.
The game was reasonable fun, but nothing close to a "system seller" quality game. I'd say uncharted 2 and LBP are far better games for the PS3.
Out of all the AAA games I own, Killzone 2 has to be one of the worst. Halo ODST being the only one even more lame.
Put it this way, if Killzone 2 was multiplat and didn't look as good, nobody would give a crap about the game. It gets attention for all the wrong reasons IMO.
In a sense I thought it was a bit overrated. Campaign was good and multiplayer is fun but I didn't find anything that amazing except for the graphics.
Plus is it me or are the characters in this game really annoying? Throughout the whole game I just want them all to die except for one of the squad mate(the tech guy that open doors, sorry I forgot his name).
i like it when i kill someone online i make them see me tea-bagging them. Its very satisfying. So you should get it.
I just picked up a PS3 -- been playing through the demos available, so far I can't find a single game that really blows me away, (different topic for a different thread), but I was surprised how undewhelmed I was by the Killzone 2 demo. Granted, it's just a demo, but as far as graphics king of shooters, I don't know. Honestly, the shooting in ME2 felt more satisfying and looked better, and that's an RPG. None of the combat had that "satisfying" feel of a good shooter, all the enemies looked the same, and the whole tone just felt like a Gears rip-off.
Am I missing something? The graphics seemed above average, nothing mind-blowing.

Just beat it in the last two days, and it was all I expected it to be. Great Graphics, awesome guns, terrific atmosphere, mediocre storyline, and a dash of dumb motion controls. It was one of the Top Ten FPS's ive played this Generation, no doubt.
Really? I find the online very casual friendly :)When it came out it was fairly interesting; now the online servers are full of seasoned vets and not much else.

killzone 2 or uncharted didn't blow me away at all.
both had superb multiplayer and average single player, just my opinion
Different strokes, different folks. Im personally going through it now and again trying to beat it on elite. Hot damn, is it hard!
It deserved its score and praise, you ask me. It fell flat on its face in some aspects but it was without a doubt, a step in the right direction.

Word, i must have died 100 times on one board
No, but it's not as good as previous FPS's imo. This gen graphics have improved but games for the most part remained the same and in some cases got a little worse. Hype is a dangerous thing indeed.(Remembers Infamous purchase)
