Is Gears of War 1 a great game? Absolutly. However, it is NOT one of the greatest games this gen. Gears of War 1 scored high and sold as massivly as it did, because it was one of a VERY few quality games to be released early this gen. It's the same reason Perfect Dark Zero scored a 9/10 and sold well, there wasn't else to really compete with. If Gears of War 1 was released today, it MIGHT be able to hold a 9/10.

However, if we're going to run on past success here, Killzone 3 is destined to be 10/10, since Guerrilla Games has consistantly increased the Killzone franchise up by 1 with each game that passes.

Killzone 1: 7/10 (by the .5 rating system)

Killzone Liberation: 8

Killzone 2: 9

Killzone 3: ????

By game i think the single player will be pretty close I think KZ3 will have a far superior mp element though. As far a graphics im not sure Crysis on consoles will have anything on KZ3 as a matter of fact its very doubtful.

Best shooter-ok here are exclusives a bit better,Reach and KZ3 but Battlefield BC2,MW and L4D sure can hold their own.

Sports-multiplats

Racing-mutliplats

Action Adventure-UC2 IMO but there is also Batman which is pretty epic game

Best Hack and Slash-Bayonetta IMO (ok GOW III is up there as well)

Than there is Portal,The Orange Box,Mass Effect,Fallout,Bioshock etc.

Best exclusives(Halos,UCs,KZs and Gears) are probably bitbetter than best of what multis have to ofter for the same genre but for else, multis are just better games this gen because there is much much more of them which are such a good games.

Im saying that because this year three biggest runners for GOTY are multiplats and Sony and even MS did not have such a crazy year as we thought it would be.There is more AAA multiplats per year than there are exclusives in last 5 yrs and thats all that matters.Multiplats are just as good games as are exclusives.
