Helgast jetpack is awesome.

"There are no pre-renders, no elaborate unplayable cut-scenes and no false promises; Killzone 3's reveal is pure and simple – an extended hands-on with the fourth level of a game that we're thrilled to report is full of awesome."
Killzone 3 is full of awesome :)
Do you not think the whole jet pack thing was taken from Reach ?scottiescott238"However, there's one particular type of Helghan that's unlikely to be on the end of a brutal melee kill. Helghan's now have jetpack troopers among their ranks and they're brilliantly agile foes. It's easy to think that, in the wake of Halo: Reach's newfound aerial acrobatics, this is a case of me-too game design, but it's worth remembering that jetpacks were a part of the PSP spin-off Liberation and have been a part of Killzone 3 well before Bungie revealed its own take on them several weeks ago. And, regardless, the more jetpacks the merrier, as the old saying goes."

Reach wasn't the first FPS with jetpacks.
And even if it was, jetpacks are awesome. Why not include them?

What were u expecting it to look like?
No I mean it looks exactly like KZ2,like that shot could've been taken straight from the game.
Doesn't look like any sort of graphical upgrade whatsoever, but I'll wait until more screens and vids are released before judging it too harshly.

A different game :? you may not have noticed, but it looks noticeably better than KZ2. not to mention KZ2 didn't have jetpacks, snow, or awesome fur-higs.[QUOTE="MJPK"]

If they are adding Co-Op, then there won't be a significant upgrade, at all.

Not to mention this game supports 3D right?
Yeah I wouldn't count on any huge improvements over 2 tbh.Just hope they get a little more ambitious with the art-style though.
"Although they're not shown up and running, concept art for several of the levels show that this will be a relative kaleidoscope of colour, with the dreary wastelands left in the wake of Killzone 2's nuke giving way to jungles filled with phosphorous light, through to the brilliant white of the snowbound level we get to play today."
Jungle in Killzone :D

There's jungle?
I knew this was coming. Hopefully they tone down the bur a bit, so that I can really see what's happening.

Yes I do, it's not like they where already in Kz:Liberation.
Halo invented jetpacks, didn't you get the memo? Halo stole so much from Unreal Tournament it's a moot point anyway. Killzone 2 is a freaking awesome game, a game I spent a considerable, considerable amount of time with. If they submit to players wishes for KZ3 and tighten the controls up to feel like COD, BFBC etc. the game will catch on and really sell. Either way, I can't wait to play it."Although they're not shown up and running, concept art for several of the levels show that this will be a relative kaleidoscope of colour, with the dreary wastelands left in the wake of Killzone 2's nuke giving way to jungles filled with phosphorous light, through to the brilliant white of the snowbound level we get to play today."

Yeah see this makes me happy hearing this.
KZ3 doesn't need any major graphical improvements( KZ2 was and still is a beast), I just want a greater variety of environments and some damn colour.

Makes Halo look like a cartoon.
siddhu33
Wonderful.
Here is my rebuttal -Halo makes KZ2 play like an old 1920s film.
The 1920s in film were landmark.
"They're matched by a new and impressive sense of scale too. The first three minutes we're allowed to go hands-on with has more set-pieces crammed in to it than the entire first level of Killzone 2, and it's also ten times bigger than what had gone before."
Bigger levels.
So they have much bigger levels, stereoscopic 3D and propbably co-op with graphics as good as in K2 (or even little better, just wait for the gameplays)? Amazng :o

True, but the way that they ran, as in, animations, and playstyle wasn't exactly great, compared to now.

Better then old fashioned cartoons imo ofc.Looks like they took the wings off ATAKS (or however it is spelled)
Looking pretty awesome, cannot wait.
Killzone 2 was my favorite FPS and personal GoTY of 2009. Looks like KZ3 just topped it.
If they announce co-op, actually dive into the crazy story Killzone has, and add some sublte vehicle combat in multiplayer, Killzone 3 could one of the greatest FPS games ever made. Crossing my fingers, Guerilla Games. I know you guys can deliver.
The jet packs in Red Alert were epic, as was more or less everything about that game. As for jetpacks, i don't get all the fascination over who did them first, halo or killzone. Neither did. Jetpacks have been in dozens of games over the years.Reminds me of the jetpack units from Red Alert 2.
Yeah guys, jetpacks are nothing new to video games. Remember Tribes?

The haters/downplayers are already here... it's going to be a massive anti-hype campaign before this one comes out. HahadoukenKZ2's hype was out of control. And why? The game was good but hardly genre-defining like everyone thought it was. Take away the good (blurry) graphics and you had a run-of-the-mill FPS.
The haters/downplayers are already here... it's going to be a massive anti-hype campaign before this one comes out. HahadoukenKinda reminds you of 2007, doesn't it? a year before the game even thought of coming out, people were downplaying KZ2 as "garbage". "it'll never live up to that CGI!"... shut them up, eh? I have faith GG can do it again. KZ2 was awesome (though, a little lacking in online, mainly due to static, uncustomizable weapons), KZ3 is looking like it will probably be even better than 2 (i mean... odds are if GG learned anything, it will be.) Can't wait till E3!!!!

The game was good but hardly genre-defining like everyone thought it was. Take away the good (blurry) graphics and you had a run-of-the-mill FPS. Speaking of downplay... Motion blur was a good choice, it would seem, since Halo bit it from them wholesale. The class system, physics and map design kept it from being a "run of the mill FPS", but yes, use this thread to downplay KZ2 and KZ3, why discuss the fact that it's coming out when we can discuss how overrated it's going to be when it eventually does?
