Looks badass IMO... but then again, everything about the Helghast is badass.

[QUOTE="tomarlyn"]I don't like the sound of jet packs and I love my Killzone. One thing I've always loved about the series is how it maintains a sense of gritty realism, whilst being set far in the future. I hope they're not overused.TREAL_SinceThe previews have said that the jetpacks are awesome in every way. Agile and very intuitive. Hopefully they are great for yo :). Hopefully, but I want to feel like a soldier on the ground not a human fly.
@ Jesus_on_Fire - Thank you :D. I had fun making it.
@ Frozen - Hows it going man? I think Killzone 3 will be the Uncharted 2 of the franchise. The folks at GG really look up to other Sony devs, and they like to compete.
@ Dataleak - Oh nooo, not the Sxaxis :P. The only motion control they will use will probably be Move.
@ Couth_ - SWAG on Deck :P. I already know its gonna be awesome. We need to play together online when it comes out.
TREAL_Since
Killzone 3 + Move = Possible GOTY. The Wiimote, when done right (Metroid Prime: Corruption), is such an innovative, awesome FPS experience. This might be the first Killzone, apart from Liberation, that I actually enjoy.

No.

Thanks for doing it for me.... I love how everyone on SW tends to have a decent idea of gaming history, then occasionally some random person makes an account here with no clue what they're talking about."With levels ten times bigger than in Killzone 2, this is Helghan like you've never seen it before. You'll face brutal combat in a host of environments that threaten to bury you on the deadly planet. Killzone 3 will see you trudge through toxic nuclear wastelands, get lost in a lethal alien jungle, fight in bitter arctic conditions and take the battle into space as you fight against Helghast domination – with every location featuring a distinct gameplay style for you to master."

:3 Interesting. my copy of KZ2 should be getting here in a few days. killab2oo5You better play with me, killapube. :o

I'm glad someone realizes the potential! I'm not saying GOTY or anything, but it could possibly be one of the most immersive games ever made (Move + 3D). And it's supposedly extremely accurate. We'll see how things work out :).And for those who hate Rico, I'm glad they kept him just to tick people off . Who knows, maybe he will redeem himself in KZ3 :P.

Killzone 2 is one of the most immersive games ever, so add in Wiimote-esque motion controls and 3D? It couldn't possibly fail. :o
Variety is immensely important. A game that keeps on providing new feelings and mechanics and play styIes usually avoids negative criticism. I'm gonna keep saying it: I think this will be like an Uncharted 2 like sequel. Still quite early to tell but I have a hunch for these things :P. It won't, especially if K3 is 2011 game ;) But this is opinion vs. opinion :)
Info about 3D:
"I didn't go into that much technical detail, I'm afraid, but here is a quote from Hermen: "Implementing 3D is a bit of work for our engine guys but it's very doable – it's actually easier for us than you would think and we're already at the stage in our development where we can switch it on and off. It's important to get it right but we're quite lucky in that the Killzone universe, with so much going on all of the time, lends itself well to 3D.""
Info about SPU's ultilisation:
"Guerilla Games' managing director Hermen Hulst has told VG247 that the studio is "going way overboard" for Killzone 3, using "100 percent" of PS3's processing capabilities.
Speaking with Patrick Garratt at the game's formal reveal in Amsterdam earlier this month, Hulst said the game was "pushing" 100 percent in terms of SPU load. Killzone 2 used around 60 percent, as famously claimed by ex-IGN writer Jeff Haynes in a podcast before the release of the prequel last February.
"But I think we're pushing 100 percent right now," said Hulst. "You see there's steam coming out of the machine, almost.
"All the stuff that we're squeezing. It's got everything to do with the scale and the environments and the action that you're seeing on the screen right now. As I was talking about earlier in the presentation, we're having a footprint of a level that's ten times bigger than the average Killzone 2 level. Killzone 2 was not a small game, but that was as far as we could push it back then."
He added: "We're going way overboard this time around, and I think we're reaching the kind of maximum that we can do. But we always do that. We always find a way to go above and beyond."
_____________________________________________________________
"They have tweaked the graphics even more in Killzone 3 and the brilliant use of lighting, as we saw in its predecessor, now looks even more convincing and aesthetic looking. During my interview, I ask whether we will feel less overwhelmed when Killzone 3 is published because Killzone 2, after all, was on a completely new console.
- Of course we have no new hardware, but on the other hand, we have been much better to handle the Playstation 3 hardware in this game. Last time we spent 60-70 percent of what was possible to squeeze out of the hardware, but now we aim for 90 to 95 percent. Killzone 3 engine is about 50 percent faster than the last game, "says Van Beek."
Two different developers, one probably just round up the number (no game can use 100% of the console all the time).
Technically K3 just blows K2 out of the water: 10x bigger levels, stereoscopic 3D, probably co-op, maybe split-screen (sience they are doing 3D).
And people should remember: K2 looks "just" good on screenshots and brilliant in motion, that's why cows are using gifs instead of images (and lems are using images :P). I can't wait for the gameplay (same for Crysis 2!) :D

I never agreed with that "C2 on 360 looks better then C1",i said thats VERY bold statement probably coming from a guy who never played Crysis, but the same was said by moderator from InCrysis who was at event,is Crysis moder and had a chance to work for Crytek(as public relations??).And again im saying that those 10x levels arent EXACTLY 10x larger.
"It's not all there to explore, this particular example is largely comprised of open sea and fractured ice, but the expanses offer a welcome respite from the rat-tunnel claustrophobia of Pyrrhus"
And about %.ND themselves said.
Q) What percent of the PS2's power are you using?
A) People think of systems as glasses and ask: "how full is the glass". Unfortunately, that isn't how it works. Any developer who gives you a "percent of system used" answer is blowing smoke. The truth is that every developer uses 100% of the systems power on every game. Some just get more out of that 100% than others. And game after game, we ALL get more out of systems than we did on the previous title. Think of it this way. If the system is a glass, some developers pour in rocks till the glass overflows and then call it quits. They would claim that they use 100% of the systems space. And it is true that no more rocks fit. Some will even put in a rock too many and the game plays slow or runs funny. But there is still some space left for smarter developers. They pour pebbles into the cracks left by the rocks, and they get more into the glass. Then they call it 100% full. But some Developers will then pour in sand, to fill the cracks between the pebbles. They get even more out of the system, yet it is still just 100% full. Some developers go the extra distance, and they pour in water. Then the glass is truly full, right? Sure, but just for this title, because some of the rocks can be replaced with pebbles that do the same thing, if you work hard at it. And some of the pebbles can be made into sand. And some sand can be pressed to water. No developer ever gets a glass filled with only water, no developer has that much time, so no developer truly fills the glass. We just get more and more out of the 100%.
Again im not saying KZ3 wont look anything spectacular,it definitely will but some people on SW are clearly drinking kool aid. When i said:4 co op players, sandbox environments,60 a.i and last gen engine cant really bring graphics on level of the game that is linear and made to show graphics and console power like UC2 people said thats excuse.

They made scale bigger, they went from great art in dark where they can show of lightning to daytime where it looks very similar to Halo Reach.I do believe that it will look great, bit better then KZ2 for sure but those % from Sony 1st party is laughable...
Even ND last gen said that who ever says what % they are using its utter bull, but this gen they also use it...
And those 10x bigger levels arent REALLY 10x bigger.Eurogamer said 10x but considering the fact that there is alot of water and mountains where you really cant go.Im not saying it looks bad or anything but it looks(from screens) like KZ2 in daytime, totally the same. While lots of cows came into Gears 3 thread saying it looks the same while its not even remotely the same, its pure hypocrisy. All i see in this thread is "WOW WOW" while it looks exactly the same(from screens).
3D will be option.they showed non 3d version and 3d version.3d version wont use LOTS of pp effects cus it does not need them but from the impressions of non 3D version it seems like the game looks great but nothing we have not seen before. On the other side Crysis 2 impressions...you get the point :D
Anyway...cant wait for E3 showdown,my money is on Crysis 2 but we will see.

10x bigger levels and graphics the same as K2 (it's your opinion based on the screenshots...) - it really cost more resources, so they optimized engine much better this time. If you are believing some guys that C2 on consoles looks better than C1 on PC I can belive... KZ3 developers about SPU's utilisation
And KZ2 have plenty of day time levels, I think you should play this game more ;)
I never agreed with that "C2 on 360 looks better then C1",i said thats VERY bold statement probably coming from a guy who never played Crysis, but the same was said by moderator from InCrysis who was at event,is Crysis moder and had a chance to work for Crytek(as public relations??).And again im saying that those 10x levels arent EXACTLY 10x larger.

Last time it was 40 a.i. :P And I'm playing H3 right now, levels really aren't that big as some lems said to me earlier, they are bit bigger than some lvl in K2, but ok, I understand your point (4p co-op is demanding) ;) Fanboys will always be fanboys, you can't change that... or you could buy them a console they hate so much :P
[QUOTE="theseekar"]Do humans have monsters? I do...in my pants! *OH SNAP!!!*Does it have monsters or a more varied and interesting setting this time ?
Or is as mediocre as KZ2 ?

I meant 40 a.i on ground and 20 vehicle a.i...Halo 3 is not that big,Reach is supposed to be almost sandbox and much bigger then H3.I never had impression that H3 lvls are much bigger then KZ2 to be honest...H3 was pretty weak and unoptimized technical showcase :)

No.
That was wolfenstein 3D
Thanks for doing it for me.... I love how everyone on SW tends to have a decent idea of gaming history, then occasionally some random person makes an account here with no clue what they're talking about. He wasn't being serious. "Halo inveted FPS" is a memePlease Log In to post.
