@ Frozen - Hows it going man? I think Killzone 3 will be the Uncharted 2 of the franchise. The folks at GG really look up to other Sony devs, and they like to compete.

@ Couth_ - SWAG on Deck :P. I already know its gonna be awesome. We need to play together online when it comes out.

I'm not sure, to be honest. I'm not the biggest fan of Killzone 2 and don't own a PS3, so I don't keep up-to date with news. It'll be a shame if it didn't though.

I'm glad someone realizes the potential! I'm not saying GOTY or anything, but it could possibly be one of the most immersive games ever made (Move + 3D). And it's supposedly extremely accurate. We'll see how things work out :).

And for those who hate Rico, I'm glad they kept him just to tick people off :twisted:. Who knows, maybe he will redeem himself in KZ3 :P.

Variety is immensely important. A game that keeps on providing new feelings and mechanics and play styIes usually avoids negative criticism. I'm gonna keep saying it: I think this will be like an Uncharted 2 like sequel. Still quite early to tell but I have a hunch for these things :P. I called it with Uncharted 2.

That would be awesome! I had some fun with Killzone 2's campaign, but it wasn't varied enough for me. I still was able to get through to the end. This one looks a lot better from the hands-on impressions. As for multiplayer, Killzone 2 is as good as it gets IMO :)

I disagree kind sir, KZ3 with the help of Santa Monica and Naughty Dog will blown your mind, the only Crysis rapage will come form the PC version. Imo ofc.

This is great stuff. I'm expecting a top notch campaign and multiplayer. I'd definitely like to see more variety in weapons with some customization., which makes things more interesting imo. I felt like some of the guns in KZ2 belonged in the Boer war. The controls were different with their weighty feel. I didn't dislike them but felt a lot of people moved quickly to other mp games with tighter controls.

"I didn't go into that much technical detail, I'm afraid, but here is a quote from Hermen: "Implementing 3D is a bit of work for our engine guys but it's very doable – it's actually easier for us than you would think and we're already at the stage in our development where we can switch it on and off. It's important to get it right but we're quite lucky in that the Killzone universe, with so much going on all of the time, lends itself well to 3D.""

Info about SPU's ultilisation:

"Guerilla Games' managing director Hermen Hulst has told VG247 that the studio is "going way overboard" for Killzone 3, using "100 percent" of PS3's processing capabilities.

Speaking with Patrick Garratt at the game's formal reveal in Amsterdam earlier this month, Hulst said the game was "pushing" 100 percent in terms of SPU load. Killzone 2 used around 60 percent, as famously claimed by ex-IGN writer Jeff Haynes in a podcast before the release of the prequel last February.


"But I think we're pushing 100 percent right now," said Hulst. "You see there's steam coming out of the machine, almost.

"All the stuff that we're squeezing. It's got everything to do with the scale and the environments and the action that you're seeing on the screen right now. As I was talking about earlier in the presentation, we're having a footprint of a level that's ten times bigger than the average Killzone 2 level. Killzone 2 was not a small game, but that was as far as we could push it back then."


He added: "We're going way overboard this time around, and I think we're reaching the kind of maximum that we can do. But we always do that. We always find a way to go above and beyond."

They made scale bigger,they went from great art in dark where they can show of lightning to daytime where it looks very similar to Halo Reach.I do believe that it will look great,bit better then KZ2 for sure but those % from Sony 1st party is laughable...

Even ND last gen said that who ever says what % they are using its utter bull,but this gen they also use it...

And those 10x bigger levels arent REALLY 10x bigger.Eurogamer said 10x but considering the fact that there is alot of water and mountains where you really cant go.Im not saying it looks bad or anything but it looks(from screens) like KZ2 in daytime,totally the same.While lots of cows came into Gears 3 thread saying it looks the same while its not even remotely the same,its pure hypocrisy.All i see in this thread is "WOW WOW" while it looks exactly the same(from screens).

3D will be option.they showed non 3d version and 3d version.3d version wont use LOTS of pp effects cus it does not need them but from the impressions of non 3D version it seems like the game looks great but nothing we have not seen before.On the other side Crysis 2 impressions...you get the point :D

Anyway...cant wait for E3 showdown,my money is on Crysis 2 but we will see.

3D will be option.they showed non 3d version and 3d version.3d version wont use LOTS of pp effects cus it does not need them but from the impressions of non 3D version it seems like the game looks great but nothing we have not seen before.On the other side Crysis 2 impressions...you get the point :D

I never agreed with that "C2 on 360 looks better then C1",i said thats VERY bold statement probably coming from a guy who never played Crysis,but the same was said by moderator from InCrysis who was at event,is Crysis moder and had a chance to work for Crytek(as public relations??).And again im saying that those 10x levels arent EXACTLY 10x larger.

They get even more out of the system, yet it is still just 100% full. Some developers go the extra distance, and they pour in water. Then the glass is truly full, right? Sure, but just for this title, because some of the rocks can be replaced with pebbles that do the same thing, if you work hard at it. And some of the pebbles can be made into sand. And some sand can be pressed to water. No developer ever gets a glass filled with only water, no developer has that much time, so no developer truly fills the glass. We just get more and more out of the 100%.


Again im not saying KZ3 wont look anything spectacular,it definitely will but some people on SW are clearly drinking kool aid.When i said:4 co op players,sandbox environments,60 a.i and last gen engine cant really bring graphics on level of the game that is linear and made to show graphics and console power like UC2 people said thats excuse.

Last time it was 40 a.i. :P And I'm playing H3 right now, levels really aren't that big as some lems said to me earlier, they are bit bigger than some lvl in K2, but ok, I understand your point (4p co-op is demanding) ;) Fanboys will always be fanboys, you can't change that... or you could buy them a console they hate so much :P

@Bus-A-Bus You try to disprove assumptions with "facts" but yet you use assumptions as facts too. What Hulst was trying to say is that the LOAD is a higher percentage, not necessarily how much of the system is used. Then you tried to claim superiority for Crysis 2 over a game that you have only seen 2 screenshots for. And then you went on in your last paragraph talking about that KZ3 cant do those capabilitiesWell how in the world do you know that Killzone 3 cant do those capabilities? And this "Kool Aid" people are drinking is straight from the devs themselves, not a rumor, or an assumption.

I just played Gears 2 yesterday...and man skin finally looks like god damn skin.Thanks God Epic...They are now in hurry to patch up and improve UE3 cus this years E3 will be meltdown:KZ3,C2,Gears 3,MAYBE MAYBE UC3,new Insomniac,MOH... :shock:
