Exactly! They come out in their droves for big games like Killzone and Halo. Yeah, you take away
- Awesome graphics
- Weighted control scheme
- FPS cover system
- On-The-Fly objective missions in multiplayer
- Sheer number of awesome Helghast death animations
- Amazing audio track (that won an award for)
- Stylized and immersive enviroments
- The smart AI combat
and Killzone just turned into a run-of-the-mill shooter that both critics and players mistakenly thought was awesome.

Dude i played the Halo Reach beta check: CORPSE THROWER for ownage. With that said, Halo Reach played like grabage (imo)and looked like garbage campared to KZ2's multiplayer NOW even to this day. Give Reach a rest man seriously lol.
[QUOTE="Orchid87"]I think that's becouse "climactic nuke"yeah but at the same time i see this being a pretty much direct sequel in the sense it will start literally hours after cause that would actually imo be the most logical follow up.But Vekta coud still be seen with missions im thinking the higs wil deploy some elite force or something to vekta as to throw it up a bit. That "jungle" stuff is interesting. You played one game of CTF on powerhouse, and finished bottom on your team with 8 kills and 17 deaths, 5 of which are probably with grenade spam. You probably quit as well.
I don't think that you are really credible when it comes to reach, don't you think?

Nothing new.lemming damage control at its finest :P doesnt stop it from being a bit of a tour de force when it came out it blew me away in the graphics department (i dont own a PC)
Its done extremely well after guerilla being given time to finish the game to a higher standard and what else helped is it was one of the first true PS3 games in a lot of sense a lot of style and was a good break from the other shooters on the market for a change of pace and style.

Yeah this is not a good thing.
Anyways the whole game looks to be a step up from Killzone 2. Larger levels, more varaity, more setpieces, longer campaign. If they throw in some co-op and tune the online, everything is going to be excellent.

Halo invented jetpacks, didn't you get the memo? Halo stole so much from Unreal Tournament it's a moot point anyway. Killzone 2 is a freaking awesome game, a game I spent a considerable, considerable amount of time with. If they submit to players wishes for KZ3 and tighten the controls up to feel like COD, BFBC etc. the game will catch on and really sell. Either way, I can't wait to play it.I hope they don't change the gameplay too much. If they tighten the aiming a little, okay. But they should keep the recoil and heft of movement. That way, you have both types of games available, and they're not all the same game with different skins.

Yeah guys, jetpacks are nothing new to video games. Remember Tribes?

Ahh memories. Starsiege Tribes was AWESOME!
"With levels ten times bigger than in Killzone 2," gushes the bulletin, "this is Helghan like you've never seen it before. You'll face brutal combat in a host of environments that threaten to bury you on the deadly planet. Killzone 3 will see you trudge through toxic nuclear wastelands, get lost in a lethal alien jungle, fight in bitter arctic conditions and take the battle into space as you fight against Helghast domination – with every location featuring a distinct gameplay style for you to master."
What I loved about KZ2 was with all due respect I say this as a friendly gamer, how nooby consolites can be, because the controls were somewhat different you could tell a lot of people had a hard time adjusting, somehow I just clicked, I understood what they were going for and they worked great for me, I really loved the way the game controlled and I owned face in it.

"They're matched by a new and impressive sense of scale too. The first three minutes we're allowed to go hands-on with has more set-pieces crammed in to it than the entire first level of Killzone 2, and it's also ten times bigger than what had gone before."
Bigger levels.
So they have much bigger levels, stereoscopic 3D and propbably co-op with graphics as good as in K2 (or even little better, just wait for the gameplays)? Amazng :o
sayonara89
And by what i read it looks awesome, I can't wait to see this game in 3D :D
I thought the screenshots were bullshots at first. Didn't see any aliasing until I made the picture bigger. viola there it was and barely noticeable on the telephone wires. If the whole game has this kind of aliasing in it then it is definately a step up from KZ2. For those of you who want to argue. This is one of the best looking games I have ever seen. Naughty Dog has definately improved the game with their talents at least on the aliasing. WOnder what else kind of treats are to await. Oh and it also does 3d particles, bullets, and oceans on top of all the improvements. Impressed......very impressed.
im sorry but that jetpack looks so stupid :*( JetB1ackNewYearJetpack looks awesome. Anime-like, but still awesome.
KZ3 sounds very promising, they are trying to fix everything from KZ2 and even the gunplay feels more responsive.
And there will be also jungle level, all that engine needed is to showcase it's power with variety of environments and they are just doing that now :D
[QUOTE="scottiescott238"]Do you not think the whole jet pack thing was taken from Tribesskrat_01Fixed
I wouldn't say "fixed" here:roll:

"As you may know, we are always in close contact with the Killzone community," he said. "The response to Killzone 2 has been fantastic but there is a general response that it had too many 'corridors'. We have to temper that with the knowledge that many players really enjoy that gameplay **** Our plan is to solve this dilemma with huge variation in gameplay ****.
We had plenty of variety in Killzone 2but much of it was introduced in the second half of the game. This time around, right from the start every new level has its own distinct feel."
"If you remember, the Jetpack Troopers were in Killzone Liberation on PSPand we've always wanted to bring them back," explained Hermen. "When you include aerial combat you obviously need plenty of space so the much bigger levels in Killzone 3 have presented us with the opportunity to include this enemy."
"We recognise how important the story is in Killzone games," he replied, "and we're making great leaps forward with character development and the quality of the dialogue and the writing. We're going all-out to make Killzone 3 a rounded experience on all fronts.
So with Visari gone, there's a power vacuum on Helghan where figures like Stahl, the head of the Helghan weapon producer, are vying for power. Essentially, the surviving ISA soldiers are caught in the middle of a catfight when what they really need is to get the hell off the planet and return to Vekta.
On the ground, this political situation changes the nature of the conflict. The Helghan are now in the ascendency and they are bringing a great deal of new technology to the fray. The result for the player is that you'll be encountering new weapons and enemy types with their own distinct behaviour."
"We always refer to multiplayer as 'the other half of the game'," he said, "meaning that it's just as important to us as single player. It's an area on which we have key individuals working and I can promise true innovation. Right now we're looking through all of the feedback we received on Killzone 2, particularly around accessibility."
I'm so hyped :D

Have you heard of Tribes? Came out even before the first Halo was released and has jetpacks.
the early ps2 days that game could have been amazing tribes 2 messed it all up but jet packs have been around forever san Andreas anyone.im sorry but that jetpack looks so stupid :*( JetB1ackNewYearDude you are a known PS3 hater. WHy waste 2 cents on jet packs that are not only better than halos, but look better too? Betcha didn't nit pick, gripe, and complain about halos did you? Let me make a promise to you. I promise you that the animations and the 3d effects on the television screen will literally make halos jet packs look ridicoulous. Wanna make a bet. PM me then, please.

Nothing new. So. Half the stuff the game has that makes it awesome games like Halo and COD don't even have. Making them average shooters. KZ2 was better than the average shooter. And to be on topic I think jetpacks suck. I don't want to be flying around or shooting helghast out of the air. I hope this is just a brief 1 hour at most section of the game. Please Log In to post.
