Killzone 3 will be Playstation's "Halo"

No, I'm not saying KZ3 will be a "Halo Killer", however KZ3 is shaping up to be a VERY promising title to say the least. This multiplayer video alone should be enough to put KZ3 on the same level as Halo's multiplayer (although I always thought KZ2 was just as good by itself).

I think Halo has a very strong competator now.

NOTE: I am not a Sony fanboy (although the PS3 is my favorite system this gen), and will be buying and playing both Halo: Reach AND KZ3.

I have been watching fantastic vids of Killzone3 but the one you posted is simply not that impressive.

I played the Killzone 2 demo.. I didnt think it was all that great. It seemed really generic, I actually like Halo's combat better, even though Ive only played Combat Evolved and 2.

me too, i prefer odst campaign over halo 3, i was literally bored to death with halo 3's campaign, i only played it to get skulls and achievements, however the multiplayer mode, THATS where its at, i have had my halo 3 copy since 2007 and never would i think of selling it simply because of custom games and multiplayer, infection mode, jenga tower=win

Off-topic, but Killzone 3 is going to be playable at the Raleigh, NC (I live near there plus I sometimes go up to NC State to see friends) at the MLG Pro Circuit. It cost $25 for a spectator pass (I think I'll pass, but just throwing it out there for anyone wondering).

The best FPS multiplayer experience is Timesplitters 2. Until we see another one everything is just second best.

It will probably be about on par as a game, if not better (some of the vids make it looks SPECTACULARLY better, but I'm sure both will be great). Unfortunately KZ3 would be lucky to sell half of what Reach sells, probably more like 1/4th of what Reach sells. Also while alot of people still play KZ2, it's nothing like some other shooters such as MW2 and Halo 3 that still have crazy amounts of people playing. So in that regard KZ3 has alot to do to catch up to have a huge and loyal fanbase, and even if many people view it as a far superior game in opinion, by the metrics I mentioned it probably will be no competition.

Also, Sony just has too many games coming out in 2011 that will divide sales among a few major exclusive franchises. 360 just has Gears 3, so 360 people will probably still be playing Reach again and again until their 360 breaks.

I dunno, I like my PS3 way more than my 360 but I'd take Halo 3 over Killzone 2 any day and Halo Reach over Killzone 3 any day... I don't think it quite matches up in quality. Close, but not quite.

lets not jump the gun. don't creat useless hype that can be used to bash the game by haters. KZ3 s gonna be awesome can we leave it at that? because It's very unlikely that KZ3 wll even hit 1/3 of halo's sales, and more than likely that Halo Reach will score higher on metacritic. If sales = quality, then MW2 would be the best multiplayer FPS available. Good thing to all of us gamers, sales doesn't effect how good our games are.

Thus far, the major gripes people say about Killzone was the controls, that have been fixed in KZ3, people want vehicles in multiplayer, which is confirmed in KZ3, and some people wanted weapon attachments, which looks likely in KZ3.

Nothing at all, not a damned thing. But it is the end quality that will determine whether or not a game is worth anything.

I'm not sure the KZ franchise will ever reach that Halo/COD popularity. It'll always be a sold franchise that sales fairly well but for whatever reason doesn't have that mass appeal.

Never liked Halo other than the 1st one... I liked Killzone but I didnt like the lag controls, but I hear that will be fixed in the new game.

When even parents start to recognize sony by killzone then yeah its as big as halo. But as far as I know only gamers know of killzone. My parents and so many others think of halo and cod when they think of xbox and mario when they think of nintendo. As far as I know Sony never had a huge mass market icon that even those unfamiliar with caming knew about... I could be dead wrong though and would be happy to hear about them

Not trying to be a fanboy or anything but I really didn't like KZ2 at all, the controllers weren't the only thing it was just something else, like the thing that halo and the CoD series has, I found KZ2's mp very boring (Even though I thought it was going to be awesome), and I've enjoyed halo so far, and even if Reach is gonna be the same thing I'm still going to enjoy Reach.

Anyways KZ2 is never going to reach Halo's sales

Sadly, both Fable 2 and Killzone 2 are underated by many imo. Both are some of my favorite games this gen.

Halo isn't the greatest FPS series of all time, and it has alot of equal competitors. Killzone is one of many. That's like me saying "Halo: Reach will be 360's Killzone."

I know that I'll play Killzone 3 more than any other online game in the future. I hope its a game that people stick with similar to Halo and COD :). Come Feb. 2011, there will be no denying the awesomeness of Killzone Trey :P!

In the meantime, I'll be playing Firefight to death :D.

No, No, and ... NO. Killzone i different type of game. I did not like KZ2 as much as 1 I really wish they just remade KZ1 for this gen. In terms of sales or Iconic symbol for the conole... NO becaue PS3 is more varied and does not need 1 single game to sell, or represent PS3. The games

1. Grand Turismo
2. Twisted Metal
3. Socom
4. MLB
5. Rachet and crank, Jack and dexter

too many to lest that have come out on PS1 or begining of PS2 till now that are Iconic PS games. Killzone is only a direct head to head iconic symbol to Halo because someone said KZ would be a Halo killer when it came out. It was never ment to be. IT was totally different 4 player game more like BRUTE force, than Halo.

Can you design game modes or maps in Killzone 3? ;)

as much as I like Killzone2 I can't bring myself to compare it to Halo or Fable because those games have such a huge amount of replayability and I just can't play Killzone anything like those games. Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, GoW will stay bigger hitters for the PS3 and I don't see KZ3 changing that.

Dont see all the love with killzone its too dark and grainy to me, I always perferred ressitance over killzone
