I've sunk about 11 hours into the beta, really enjoying it. Going to preorder

I never liked KZ2 much, I thought it was overhyped and the controls were absolutely terrible to me. I went into the KZ3 beta expecting it to be the same but it's much improved all around, I do wish they'd make crouching L3 but overall I thought it was pretty damned good and I'll most likely be picking it up at launch.
It's fun but nothing special. I personally think that Resistance 2 has better multiplayer if you're looking for a PS3 exclusive online shooter experience. The graphics are great, but not a big leap up from Killzone 2. Also, there's tons of lag for me and the music on the menu kind of glitches. Also, the PS Move controls are wack.
kinda agree with you  the gameplay is great but yes, overall its nothing special for me except I love the heavy or 'killzone' feel of the guns. the graphics arent as great as I expected and if you give me a kz2 and a kz3 screenshot, I probably wouldnt be able identify which ones from the correct game. Ive encountered zero lag from the game. I think letting you choose your favourable region does help to reduce the lag, at least for me.It's fun but nothing special. I'm not saying the L1/R2 should be mandatory, but to deny such option is the reason I opted out of KZ2 in the first place. it seems the developer can't understand that there are people that prefer to have this option like myself. The trigger buttons feel more comfortable, and is easily within reach so I can pull fast shots and the like. If they follow what Activision does and add it as an extra option, I wouldn't complain. :P

If you wish hard enough, GG might implement L2/R2 aiming and shoot mechanics.
Oh wait, it's already there... :o The "Options" menu really is a gift from the heavens...
Oh my previous post was already said by you.
Agh just woke up I should read the whole thread xDD
No problem. Apperantly you weren't the only one who didn't see it, seeing how people were still argueing over which trigger was better for shooters even after I mentioned it, so I really can't blame you.:P

laggity lag lag.
SuprmanLuvHandl
I didnt have lag at all in any of the matches I played in.
Me neither. In fact, the game runs smooth as butter for me. Had some connection issues the first night, but last night it was great. Whatever little server issues they are having will be ironed out when they game releases, I'm sure.
I think the beta is very fun. At first I didn't like it because I was getting slaughtered in every match but I realized everyone had better weapons/equipment than me and then I learned how to use everything and I'm at the top of every game I play. It's a blast. Medic 2nd life is awesome, my favorite so far.
My only complaints so far is I don't like is how the tactician doesn't have spawn point grenades. Plus I don't like the look of the menu, don't like matchmaking, and they need to go back to Killzone 2's class selection because I like to visually see my class with my equipment selected.
Fix all that and I found my next online game. :)

Oh and to reply to what you said I have to disagree. The R2 button on the Dualshock is terrible. I need something that is more quick, accessible and responsive which makes the R1 my prefered shoot button.

Beat me to it :/ Advanced settings, switch shoulder buttons, donei think its a blast. the grafxw me away. i always liked warzone but the new mode is sweet. and while i hated mov support in mag it works very well in kz3. gg did a good job. kz always had primo maps but this one rocks like all the others. my biggest concern is will they let us use our kz2 dlc maps with kz3. thoses were the best maps they had.
Oh, i'd absolutely LOVE the beta IF I COULD PLAY IT. :x I've spent an hour just trying to connect and it never works, heck I'm trying to connect now. But the 7 matches that I have played online were amazing. Once you connect, you're connected and don't have to worry about being disconnected (at least from my experience and my friends experience). It's fun, very addicting, I love it, but I CAN'T PLAY IT *starts breathing* okay Vision, calm down, it's alright, you'll get your Killzone dosage when the time is right :(.
Connection issues was the main thing that put me off from the game. When I could connect, the game is enjoyable. Though there are some things that GG still needs to fix when the game is running. Like the lag kills. Three times I have killed someone only to die by that same person I killed.
When I played it, I was like o.o am I playing bad company 2? You have to admit the feel is pretty similar.
supdotcom
Thats funny, because when I played it, I was like o.o am I playing killzone 3? Seriously, I have never been more disappointed by a game in my life. Gone is everything I loved about killzone 2.
No squads
TSPs suck hard
Framerate drops
Die WAYYYYYYY too fast
CAMPING CAMPING CAMPING (In fact, now you can camp - while being invisible - holding a silenced weapon so nobody ever sees you)
Controls are weak, too sensitive and not sensitive enough at the same time (as strange as it sounds)
Poor team play - theres little need for it if you cant even leave your base due to **** TSP ideas.
I went back to killzone 2 and fell in love again :) Not to mention that GG has lied quite a bit.

I agree for the most part.
I know it's just the beta and has just one map, but everything I loved from KZ2 is practically gone. No recoil, so there's no tactics involved in shooting. You can literally just run and gun. Controls are derivative, and no longer feel unique. KZ2 had fantastic per object motion blur in the multiplayer when you ran; you got this real sense of movement, but now that's gone. The animations also suffer from this, as they no longer feel as smooth or fluent.
I loved the base camps in KZ2 because there was practically no spawn camping with all the bots, but now you just randomly spawn anywhere. You can only matchmake now, and not choose what size of game you want to join. I loved joining 3v3 or 4v4 games on Warzone. I hate the classes now, as you can just choose any and they could go with every map from what I've seen. Not in KZ2, you needed to choose the right class for the map or you'd get your ass handed to you. You could probably choose the sniper on KZ3 on the smallest map and still get the highest points.
I agree with your other post, too. I loved the chirp in KZ2, especially the headshot one. Also, the sound of getting a headshot with a shotgun in KZ2...awesome. Another thing I've noticed; while the sound of the guns and explosions are better, the ambient sounds and the eerie SFX of the propaganda are gone. Stick some good headphones on in KZ2, go on Radec Academy and be the Helghast on Capture and hold. The sound of Visari echoing through out the map sends shivers down my spine, complimented with the wind and distant gunfire.
Still, I will admit that it's hella' fun to play. It just doesn't feel like Killzone anymore.
And dont expect things to change by release - Im guaranteeing this is final code here. If they didnt listen during the beta - they arent going to listen during this 'beta'. People complained that spot and mark is overpowered and goes through walls. They said thats a glitch and they will fix it. Surprise surprise - they didnt [-_-].
I honestly will not be buying this game. The beta was enough for me to see I wont be enjoying the end product. I played the beta last night, didnt like it much. Then I played it again today - thinking I was too hard on the game. But no, its the same as last night. I cant get used to the fail here. It doesnt feel finished. Its sloppy, nothing seems fluent here, its like it was made by another development studio. Removing the squad and team playing aspects of this game were the worst out of the many 'sins' they made.
And giving the Sniper Radar Jammer? Why? All it does is tell me that somewhere in my area there is an invisible camper with a silenced weapon. It doesnt add on to the class at all. I honestly believe that killzone 2 had it right with its class selections.
I went back to killzone2 right after, and I fell in love again. Its beautiful T_T.

They probably got rid of the spawn grenades because of the dumb***** who threw them into areas where you can easily get spawn killed. I hated playing as tactician in KZ2, but now its fun to capture the spawn areas and the bots actually gets kills. My last match as tactician I got 55 kills, 10 deaths, 14 assists8)
I enjoyed it thoroughly and cant wait for full release.
I didnt get any lag what so ever, the controls are an improvement even though I didnt mind KZ2s controls.
The graphics are wonderful, the game modes are nice, Just wish there was a search and destroy game mode.
The weapons seems balanced and the shot gun actually works the way it supposed too as in not too powerful, but enough for a 1 hit kill when the range is right.
I love how you can customize your class with in the game and dont have to wait til the match ends.
theres so much to go over.
and as for Button placement, I think its fine.
I actually like using L1 for ADS and R1 to fire on the PS3 controller. I like to use L2 and R2 for the 360 controller.

What's the point of being a tactician if you can't throw spawn grenades now?
[QUOTE="soulitane"]Yeah, it's been pretty lag free for me. No lag for me.He must be seeing Gears 3 in a crystal ball and not playing KZ3. KZ2 was also pretty lag free.[QUOTE="SuprmanLuvHandl"]

Whatever netcode they use my router still hates it's guts and I get disconnected every couple of minutes. So I can't play it online just like the second one. Only game I've ever had trouble with. Honestly the second one was good but not anything really amazing so I won't be buying this one since the story is somehow worse according to everyone.Ace6301you can switch region by pressing start try doing that.
Visuals are very nice, but not as good as I hoped, HATE all the spawn killers!, and it seems that other players take far more shots to kill than my character does. Lag?
It is quite good looking, great sound, good movement that pulls you into your player, and very nice level. I would love it if it weren't for spawn killers and my guy shooting rubber bullets.
