Ok now I can actually tell that it looks pretty good. With Gametrailers butt footage and whatnot it was just sort of hinted at.
Plays back real framey though. Maybe that's just me.
Noticed this is a different playthrough.
Keep in mind, this was made with only 4GB of RAM available. Sony changed it to 8GB last minute. This looks amazing and it's just a launch title, can't wait to see what devs can pull off 1 year into its release.

And completely pointless. The game runs at 1080p by GG's own mouth, why post a 3840x2160 shot?

Maybe screenshot wasn't the right word :P.
But that is how the game will end up looking in the end, the hardware pretty much confirms it.
The hardware confirms that it will run at 1080p not a ridiculously high resolution. Also I would put money on the game not looking the same as that by launch.
Looks great, but console devs have a pretty bad tendency to show something they can't really deliver. The final game usually has downgraded graphics, and those "huge" levels end up being just a non-interactive gimmick.
It would be really great that new KZ actually looks like that. It would represent a great future where console games could get and finally catch up with PC games. For a little while at least.

Man, I know it won't run at 4K Res. Just saying it will be really sharp. We'll see how the game looks by launch, but definitely early next gen I expect graphics like that. Sony took a pretty big jump forward with the specs, what do you guys still expect PS3 graphics? :P
I posted a really high res image because the other ones were all blurry stream feeds. If you find a sharp 1080p screenshot, I'd be glad to edit it in.

while there is no denying Crysis 3 looks phenominal on high settings, and i know all the techno mubo jumbo aa, deffered rendering, antistropic filter, etc. at the end of the day i use my eyeballs and as far as i can tell KZ shadow fall looks just as good as crysis 3 ultra. it shouldnt surprise anyone remember it's not rendering at 2560x1600 it is 1920x1080

Well if that game does look like that then it's promising for next gen. But it's way too early to tell.
Everything sounds good on paper and Sony talk a big game, but they did with the PS3 too and it didn't do any of what they promised

That's because PS3 had a very distinct architecture, and it had a pretty average GPU (at the time), and it had that split memory pool (not to mention the mere 256mb of RAM for games).
This has no such problems, Sony learned a lot from PS3.
the "on rails" parts look great i.e. when he first flies in, lands and walks onto the tower before the explosion and then when he jumps onto the helicopter, grabs the rope and flies through the towers ... that is where you can see the great art direction and scale of the backdrops.
However the actual run and shoot parts, the parts where you actually interact with the art assets, looked pretty much standard run of the mill fare to me. Certainly nothing that crash hot visually there.
Looking forward to seeing more of the game itself to see if there is more to it other than pretty backdrops and normal FPS graphics - Still nice to see something on consoles that will actually run at native 1080p resolution at a decent frame rate.

I'm glad they went for a more PC centric type of architecture. Not only will it make games far easier to develop for the system but the multiplats will be much more improved across all platforms and PC won't be getting such gimped versions anymore
please tell me what pc game you are playing that has huge levels with this level of graphics? you're asking too much, not even pc games have worlds that big that are explorable. 360 games looked better than pc in 2005, and next gen games will look near identical to pc games now. pc tech has largly been stagnant since crysis 1. really all pc has is DX9 console games with mods so while a gtx680 may be 15x faster than Xenos these high end cards went mostly unused.Looks great, but console devs have a pretty bad tendency to show something they can't really deliver. That vid is a big improvment on the others I've seen but it's nothing that the PC hasn't been doing for years.
BF3 on Ultra is far better
Witcher 2 maxed is better
Metro Last Light will bag it

Massive leap from PS360 but nothing that hasn't already been done better.

metro doesn't even look that good on ultra
crysis 3 while gorgeous is still built around last gen consoles no matter what the devs say, they can't magically make the pc game inherintly different
this is also alpha footage running on new dev kit that only had 4GB of ram, the draw distance alone is better than anything you mentioned, while it is not explorable those buildings and cars and water are all being rendered.

I don't need to wait 8 months.
Also games have always gotten slightly worse visuals wise between their initial showings and their final product, it's happened with countless games and this will be no different. Not to mention that it was all smoke and mirrors, giving you a fake sense of scale while hindering you to a tiny play area. Crysis 3 is actually somewhat explorable and much much larger

I'm saying that those huge levels we saw in that KZ SF demo most likely won't be interactive. You surely won't be able to freely jump around wherever you want. You will get a scripted guide, like it was shown in the demo.
E.g. on this screenshot in Crysis 3 you can get from this position where the dude is currently standing, and to that skyscrapper far away with graphics quality that suprasses KZ SF.
Or here. You WILL be able to get to any location in ARMA 3 if you want with visual quality that surpasses KZ SF. And this is not exactly one of the best ARMA 3 screens I could find. I'm too lazy to find better.
But - if you can do that in KZ SF also - great. I'll be very happy because we can only imagine how sandbox games like GTA will look in future.

Yeah, Star Citizen looks incredible, but Project Awakened, nah, not so much. Or perhaps I don't see the greatness behind it. And yeah, I know it will be a UE4 game which was prototyped on UE3, but still... it's way too "Infamous" and "Prototype" which are yesterday news.

i'm not saying all will but most of them will it's the only way to recoup their money they invested. look at all the high end games last gen most of them were multiplat. RE5 had a huge budget aswell as 6, even crysis coultn't resist going multiplat but to be honest the console versions were subpar. and gameplay wise you can't compare a pc with a m/kb and third party gamepads to Wiimote, dualshock 4, 360 pad, Kinect, or wiiu gamepad. not to say all of those are good but pc doesn't have anything like those.
Let's wait until the game is finished before we make such statements. This game has a good 8+ months of development time until release. Things can easily be improved. Also, let's not forget that this is a freaking launch game. Visuals will only improve from here on out. Improved? I expect it to look worse than what was demonstrated. Sony just wants people to fall for it again.[QUOTE="KarateeeChop"]

The textures will certainly get a lot better.
Don't be so quick there. The extra RAM is there for background tasks more than anything. I'm not saying things can't improve, but the GPU will certainly hit it's limits. I have read some things about AMDs GCN graphics architecture that is certainly to be what is used in the PS4's APU. There are quite a few things that GCN can do when coded to metal and not tied to a graphics API, even DX11. If Sony and AMD make sure devs get those proper development tools to make full use of GCN, we plausibly will see perhaps leaps beyond what we've seen so far out of PS4's graphics, which do look good, but nothing beyond a Radeon 7850 at the moment, which is close to what the PS4's graphics array is in terms of capability (just under 2 TFLOPS). At the same time, being an APU, I wonder since only AMD can "produce" the APU due to x86 licensing agreements from Intel, it would be interesting if AMD used the silicon for custom x86 computers. An 8-Jaguar core + 18 CU GPU is quite a bit of power, and paired with GDDR5 in a custom Windows PC would be insanely powerful for an all-in-one or even on-demand game servers, or scientific computing. I'm going to guess AMD has more planned for the PS4's APU than just a console, and it would make sense to spread it's usefulness around.[QUOTE="NoodleFighter"]

UE3 prototype footage, and it looks pretty good to me, they also seem to ultilize a lot of features most devs didn't bother with in UE3 like the water reacting to physics, destructable environments that break apart piece by piece etc.
