Kinect sensor sold out already?

I already own a 360 so was just planning to pick up the Kinect sensor. Went to Amazon and they no longer let you preorder from Amazon. Checked Best Buy and same thing. You can no longer pre-order. Are the first shipments arleady selling out from pre-orders? I think console bundles are still available.

I know the original rumors about the pre-orders selling out were shot down, but I don't know if that's changed.I do know of at least local Gamestops that won't take pre-orders any longer.

Walmart still has it for pre-order if you bundle with an additional game.

They probably cut preorder because they maybe they dont know how many units theyre receiving.

MS is guaranteed to sell 3 million. It's already a done deal.

Who knows how many units MS released for pre-sales? Lets not get carried away until we have actual figures. However, sales figures alone will not convince me of Kinect's success.blue_hazy_basic

I agree with this, even as someone who's pre-ordered it. Once I've used it, seen how well it works, and seen how much and what kind of support it gets in its various games I'll call it.

When you've been around enough motion gaming, you know how to keep your expectations realistic. I expect it to be fun with friends and my kids, and get an occaisional gem like maybe Rise of Nightmares or the new Project Draco.

now the haters are saying 500 million in advertising lol hahahaha changing of the guard, I have all of them in july saying that Kinect will be such a horrible failure that I would be ashamed to post with my name. Oh yeah I love it, the day is coming, Just like I predicted.

nope. you will be able to find kinects day one and any time of this year and the next. there will be plenty left untouched in shelves in a store near you imho

It still will be a failure, even if it sells well initially. The problem with Kinect is that if it does sell well, Kinect style games will be the focal point of the xbox lineup. That's failure right there--why are you going to isolate the tried and true gamers that got microsoft where they are? Those gamers will venture to playstation or wii, and likely not support MS next generation.

People said/say that Kinect is a bad product, not that it won't sell. You talk about all these times in the past of millions of of people saying it wouldn't sell, and you haven't any evidence to prove so, other than your own imagination.

MS is doing something shady and common. they're undersupplying Kinect, and saying preorders are 'sold out'. that will create an illusion that Kinect is selling out everywhere. then people would want to rush to the stores to buy one because of the 'limited quantities'. that way, MS can get more pre-orders. and, believe it or not, MS isn't really short of Kinect units. that's just impossible. they're only saying they're short so people who would not have Kinect as a priority would go out and buy Kinect. i'm betting MS has already tons of Kinects in their stock inventory.

Why is everything judge by amazon stats these days?
