Terrible bit of gloating going on here.
It looks like a snes platformer updated with cleaner graphics. There isn't any real innovation here, it's been done.
Seriously now? This pink blob with muzak in the background is worth gloating about?

If you read the previous posts, you'd know that the gameplay is slightly different than previous Kirby games. He's no long eating powerups as before. I remember similar comments being made about a certain SNEs platformer, how the art was too childish, and it's considered to be one of the greatest platformers ever (Yoshi's Island).
I'm not saying it is the same as previous kirby's. It's just a 2D platformer. That's it. It is a 2D platformer with a ncie art style, that wont be to everyone's tastes. (Too cutesy for me, but I appreciate the work that went in to it). Most 2D platformers had a gimmick that set them apart from the others during their heyday. They weren't really original because of this.
LBP2 is on a different level because it allows people to create almost anything. This is a new concept to consoles. Why on earth the OP is bringing LBP into this discussion is beyond me. As a comparison, it's bound to fail. Kirby, for all its hype, will probably be a 7.5 on here.
i dont see your point at all, firstly this is about graphics, i dont see you coming on graphics king threads and explaining why killzone 3 looks better then crysis, because you find the gameplay to be more original.
secondly
kirbys epic yarn isnt just about the graphics them self, like most of those games coming out these days, its about the gameplay mechanics that are based around the graphics.
and third. Il about LBP
creativity isnt something you learn, and together with the limitations of LBPs game editor its not really a good mix.
they didnt mange to do great platforming in their past effort, and now they need to try to great in all genres.
Im not going to believe it before i see it, the gameplay looks lackluster, unlike kirbys which looks excellent.
