It did not have a Metal Gear demo to inflate the sales so it would of been a bargain bin title in a month. No need to release another Vanquish. A shit Japanese title people only pretend they think is good because of the names in the credits.

No big loss. 

I rented the HD collection from Gamefly and sent it back the same day I received it. Both games are just awful. 

So the collection is getting a patch. I may just buy it then.

Why do people love these games?
Over these years I was hearing so much praise about this game so I bought these HD collection and really? I played the first and wow... Combat aside, the gameplay is very mediocre. Boring and repetitive missions and such. The actual combat wasn't that fun either, buncha recycled enemies. The story started out great and I was like; ok this is why people like the game! But the story is actually very weak and there wasn't much of it either.

I played like 70% of the campaign of the first game and then I was like: Ok this game is boring and repetitive but I guess I'll keep going a bit until I get out this city-map. Yeah..... Visited some FAQs and I was able to figure I was like 70% done already and there weren't gonna be any other areas.


So... In conclusion. Barely any story, Boring and repetitive gameplay, environment and combat and short on top of that. I was really excited about this when I got it for christmas. Way to massively overhype mediocrity dear community, thanks for making me all sad on christmas.

Nah, MGR is a B-rate action game that platinum fans hype to the moon because PG can do no wrong in their eyes, the game is just average at everything and has an awful camera.  Also I doubt they could make it like vanquish, mikami isn't there anymore, and even still, vanquish is just an average game. It has good gameplay but everything else is the problem. PG in general isn't that great of a studio, they have duds like Anarchy Reins, Madworld and MGR under their belts with their only above average game being bayonetta.

And nothing of value was lost. ZOE sucks.

Another one to cross off the list of anticipated games: Shenmue, Suikoden, Megaman X, Yakuza 5, ZOE3....

ZOE is just as much about the story as it is about the gameplay and after MG: Rising I'm completely positive on the fact that PG just wouldn't be able to handle it. They really don't give a single crap about story-telling, they even went to the extend of ignoring KojiPro's script for Rising and completely ruin the story (and time-line too) just to make the game be ridiculously over the top. Seriously, I rather see the series die as it is than seeing it stained by PG like they did with Rising.

Well, Konami is kinda being silly lately... so it's no surprise really. I mean, you can easily tell that Konami just doesn't want to spend money developing their games anymore (exception being MGS, because Kojima). Hell even the latest excuse for not bringing MGS collection to the Wii U or Xbox is basically "We don't want to put money into porting MGS4".

When was the last time Konami made a game themselves, apart from the main MGS series?  Silent Hill was mishandled by other devs, LoS is under the foreign management too and most of their HD ports were also handled by an external studio.  

ZOE is basically in limbo now. It might get shoved to a different studio eventually, but the previous vision will be gone if it's handled similarly to Silent Hill. This is very disappointing.

It's nonsensical, filled with plot holes, deus ex machina and shounen-esque. But it's not boring to look at and it's not pretencious enough to make your brain bleed unless you have an OCD. It's pretty entertaining for what it is. 

btw most games have the same issues that you've stated (at least similar issues) and I wouldn't single out just this game for being "herp derp" quality. Games such as Mass Effect hailed for their story and yet contain just as much BS and deus ex machina elements (and even plot holes) as ZOE. It's just ZOE is more easily singled out because "anime" stereotype.

You can't cancel what never started up.

A new ZOE would be nice. Don't know how much more they need to ask to reevaluate if more people want it. At least they are fixing the collection in the meantime. Under all circumstances though, I hope ZOE doesn't go to Platinum.

Going to have to disagree with that one. I believe the Mass Effect series gets a pass because, even though the general plot is not the greatest, it's presentation is top notch. The dialog is, at the very least, passable, and the voice-acting remained exceptional throughout the whole series. 

ZOE, on the other hand, was plauged with a poorly translated script and abysmal voice-work.
