wow actually when you read it he basically did say that.

He basically said it. He didn't outright say, "I wouldn't own a 360 as it's a subpar piece of equipment that will NOT be getting MGS4" So there's still a chance. Besides, who wouldn't leap at the opportunity to make more money? If he's judging his game like a Hollywood movie, movies are judged on how well they gross. I'm guessing MGS4 will gross a lot more money if it were released on two systems as opposed to just the PS3.

Do NOT merit the PS3, or any other console, for processing a video game. Processing a game and the game itself are two ideas that operate COMPLETELY independently from each other. We DON'T need console-exclusive games anymore.

In the ideal world we wouldn't need exclusive games, but in the ideal world BluRay and HD DVD wouldn't be competing for the same 10 cent royalty, Muslims and Christians can live together in harmony and day old Pizza would still taste just as good as the first slice out of teh oven. P.S To answer your previous question regarding movies, each Studio would gladly create there own optical medium for exluisve disirbution if the investment proved profitable but sadly investment in an optical storage far out weighs the gains in not having to pay the 10 cent royalty to companies whom have already developed optical mediums. Even so movie Studios still choose exclusive distribution mediums in an attempt to shave off a few cents of the royalty of the using the medium. Thats why there was the VHS and Betmax war and now the BluRay and HD DVD war. So the only reason you don't need to buy a different DVD player for every Studio release is because its impracticle, but even so you still have to choose between BluRay or HD DVD for the new generation.

I don't think you've played MGS then. Or saw how it bolstered the original PlayStation.

Mgs4 is a real killer app and the proof is all the 360 only gamers are dying for a port. MGS4 is a system seller and will be GOTY it's still a year off but still looks great already.

i've gotten to the point of "no one really cares" about a redundant piece of information If like Substance, HK decides to release MGS4 onto the 360, that'll be fine by me.. All i seem to see on these boards are things like "Insert game name here" will be exclusive to "Insert console name here" or PS3/360 > 360/PS3 because....."Insert pointless arguement here" (Because sony sez so is one of the funniest one's ive heard) Actually use your free time and imagine up something original to post, or play some more games FFS.

No, I think that he was just using an analogy to describe the differences in the PS3 from the 360. He was pretty much saying that the PS3 hardware, and power potential wise vs. the 360, is like going to the theater to see a movie, vs. watching the movie on a DVD at home, lol. In other words, he believes the PS3 TO BE A MUCH BETTER SYSTEM OVERALL....especially for what he is wanting to do with MGS4.

I happen to own both a PS3 and a 360 myself, and I love both. However, I definitely lean more towards the PS3, and firmly believe it will not only have more longevity, and reliability, but it will unltimately prove to be the all around better system overall.

Thats where you're wrong Hideo Kojima being a director first and a business man second can look past the financial incentives in pursuit of a more satisfying end product. Kojima runs his own Studio thus allowing him to ignore the financial quibbles of the suits that usulaly govern large studios like Konami. An artist will always remain to true his vision regardless of potential financial gains. Plus you forget that there is a lot more at stake than simply making a million more for the 360. Kojima is counting on Sony to finance and produce his next muli-million dollar Hollywood Spectacle MGS The Movie, hence he is a in a position where any act of betryal towards Sony could potentially jepordize his next big movie making venture. Everything is connected, Hideo release MGS4 on PS3 exclusive hence loses 40 million in potential revenue off a 360 port, in return he gets 100 million investment from Sony and there film partners in MGS The Movie and with it a potential 40 milion paycheck in box office gross and net profit royalties from MGS The Movie. It's a matter of short term gains leading to long term losses, the Japanese are very good at calculating long term benefits. Hideo Kojima desperately wants a career in film to add to his life achievements and MGS The Movie is his one ticket and Sony has essentially green lighted the project with one catch that MGS remains a PS3 exclusive. Kojima's a smart man just look at his glasses, he needs Sony and Sony needs him it's a classic case of you sctrach my back I scratch yours. Sony has more to offer to Kojima right now than Microsft, now if Microsft has a Movie Studio division than thats a different story.

yea same with me. Dunno why cows make such a big deal about it. It would be like the 360 losing Splinter Cell except that it has multiplayer (best part of the game imo).

I never said that. I was comparing MGS4 to SC, and i said SC wasn't that big of a deal for the 360.

How long was Gears anyway?I remember my friend calling me 2 weeks ago on a Saturday morning,told me he bought a 360 and Gears. That same day he called me again and told me he needs a new 360 game lol.

Online=/=Replayability. Gears is a good game imo(Like I said,my friend has it),but it becomes boring and repetitive after a few hours.I dont know about Gears online(My friend is wise so he didnt pay for Xbox Live),but after playing other 360 games online,online is just a side dish to the main course.

Your friend was wise to not get live? :lol: The game on hardcore takes a while and i have yet to complete it.

He's a diehard Lemming(One of the few Lemmings I know outside of SW),and even he isnt interested in Xbox Live. But isnt a game supposed to have longetivity without a hard mode???I know it's a shooter,but there're shooters with more than 6-8 hours to offer on all modes.

Over 50% of people that own a 360 have XBL Gold. If he's a diehard lem why wouldn't he have it? Everyone i know with a 360 think XBL is the best part of it.

i think most xbox fans gave up on MGS once Splinter cell was released.
MGS just isn't that important to the industry, altho i do see why the cows are getting excited... it's about the only game they really have to look forward to...

What I meant by it is that Lems were claiming their Splinter Cell to be better than Cows MGS. Now PS3 has both great games. I like MGS more though.

Uhm no. It has nothing to do with the 360 and everything to do with the PS3. If it doesn't sell well on the PS3 (which is impossible and I'll get to that later) THEN and only then will it might go multiplat. MGS4 is like the Halo for the PS3. With relatively few good games out for the PS3 (Xbox at the time), when MGSIV comes out (when Halo came out) people went crazy and it sold. See the analogy? It will sell well on the PS3. It is a system seller, and it is going to sell PS3's and make money for Kojima and Sony. Everyone wins.

It depends if the 360 does well this fall I can almost gurantee you that there will be a 360 version if Konami has it's way. ;)PS3_3DO

On which 360 console will it be appearing on,the Elite or the old one LOL?

Kind of funny, now that it's confirmed of staying exclusives suddenly 360 fanboys don't care about the game anymore and it's considered "trash."

LOL at all the lemmings swearing by the fact they "knew MGS4 will go multiplat". Kojima basically said your system cant handle it and doesn't deserve it.Dilrod

He has already said the 360 could handle MGS4. It has been stated before that the game is not going to come to the 360, and I believe it will not either, which is why I have a PS3. It is not because the 360 "can't handle" the game though. Also, until the game is out, there is always the chance of it going multi-plat, and even then it may only be a timed exclusive for Sony. I have seen absolutely no reason at all why the game could not be made on the 360.

A multi million seller game isn't important. MGS has always been a killer app franchise and will continue. I doubt many Lems care about Splinter Cell... especially since its on PS3 too.

I don't care if games are multiplat.

What I meant by it is that Lems were claiming their Splinter Cell to be better than Cows MGS. Now PS3 has both great games. I like MGS more though.

Correct,i'm looking forward to playing the superior version of Splinter Cell soon,it'll tide me over nicely until MGS comes out.

That's true for all games. If the PS3 had a year lead on 360, the same could happen. The hardware is relatively similar in power. PS3's disadvantages are 360's advantages and vice versa.

so pretty much the game is not multiplat because they dont feel like it :o
