Kotaku shows Anti-PS3 bias once again (56k Warning)

Today Kotaku posted an article. (LINK) Screenshot below of headline/first paragraph.

As you can see with this screenshot alone their GT5 headlines aren't very positive. Even the "related" articles show the same thing.

Now, in the article, they talk about a video showing "painfully slow load times" in GT5. It shows about 1 minute in load time.

As you can see there are a few problems here... Someone has created a video showing what is wrong in the video.

56k / TL;DR Version

1) Original video's sound ends before the video does, because the video lasts longer than the sound. Why? The video is slowed down, causing the sound to not sync up with the video

2) The reflection of the TV (seen during the loading) shows not only people, but camera flashes being slower than they normally would.

3) The car and GT race "START" sound do not match the video at all.

4) Kotaku releases an update saying

Update: Some readers have pointed out that this video may be slowed to give the appearance of longer load times. Make of it what you will!

Instead of Kotaku saying "This is a blatant video doctoring" (In which it has been proven it is) they say "Make of it what you will." Really?

Actually I think the evidence shown proves otherwise.

It does seem to be slower, but would that make a huge difference to the load times shown? I guess if it's slowed to 50% it would double the times, but I don't see that video being anywhere near as slow as 50%.

Either way, that headline isn't bad, if the load times are slow, good on them for calling it "painful", as i'm sure that's how they felt. You can't stand up for everything your favourite company/companies do.

As for their update, they simply could have stated that as the proof is simply another video stating the slowdown. They may have seen that as insufficient, but posted the update to keep readers aware.

All in all, an interesting find.

ummm the video wasnt slow.in fact the videowas sped up so much that the time slowed down. i think its pretty much confirmed GT5 will take light years to load.

I don't know if I would say it's blatant video doctoring. Probably just a crappy YouTube upload, though I read the comments on that story and some people posted the videos of better quality showing that the load times are not nearly as long. The video doesn't look quite right to me. Also to be fair, that is a 13-mile race track the game is loading too.

I agree, but I was just saying that I think that may have been due to the video quality. I've uploaded stuff to YouTube and had the video/audio out of synch. That's why I'm not convinced it was intentional, but yes I still think the video gives a false impression of the real game.
