A possible Ubisoft substitution for this fall’s big Assassin’s Creed could be Watch Dogs 2, which we hear will be out later this year and set in San Francisco.

http://kotaku.com/sources-next-big-a...pin-1750937895

Look, if Watch Dogs 2 is as much of an improvement over the first game as Assassin's Creed II was over the first one, I'll be only too happy to give it some time in the sun. The long development cycle will probably have helped it, too.

The same that I hope will be happening for Assassin's Creed as well.

I like that setting if true. Watch Dogs had some great gameplay at its core, they just need to build a more interesting open world around it and improve the storytelling.

I'm just waiting for the inevitable Ubisoft reveal and gameplay presentation where they show an extremely beautiful and functional PC game and then when it comes to release we're met with a potato meant to run on potatoes....

Motherfuckers need to make a comfy gangster game In Bruges. Stupid ass little shits. WE HAVE GOOD LOCATIONS TOO HOLY SHIT

But whatever, make it less generic, although I loved Aiden's jackets and the water.

Sure. Ubisoft's usually does extremely well in second installments. Assassins Creed II, Blacklist, Far Cry 3 etc. Hope they can do the same with Watch Dogs2

Hope this is true. I for one really enjoy Watch Dogs when I played it on PS4. Watch Dogs 2 would be nice to hear and I hope Adam Pierce isn't coming back, he had the Batman voice by Christian Bale, but the character was just blend and boring.

I expect it to be a great game like AC2 but then it'll become a new cash cow.

Maybe it'll come free with my next video card like the first WD.

Watch Dogs had so much potential. I continue to give Ubisoft the benefit of doubt, considering the transition between generations as the game released. We'll see how the sequel goes.

I'll be skipping it. The last game was overhyped trash. Screw you Ubisoft.

Seems like Watch Dogs 2 will be the replacement for this year's lack of Assassin's Creed. In no way there won't be any big Ubisoft game this year.

Edit: I forgot about The Division and the other Tom Clancy game. Still, I guess it'll be the replacement.

Far Cry Primal, The Division, Ghost Recon Wildlands, and Watch Dogs 2. Seems good to me.

Yeah, I'm pretty hard for Wildlands. Future Soldier is one of the most underrated third person shooters of last gen. I hope that team is doing Wildlands.

Yeah, these five years of development of Watch_Dogs must have helped them with Watch_Dogs 2 as well. Hopefully it'll be like what AC2 did. Hopefully Egypt will be the place of back to (AC2) roots for AC. :)

I hope the game adds more things to hack and make the environments more stealth inclusive. To many times you had to shoot your way out of things

Given that much of Watch Dogs disappointment was graphics related, and I feel much of the visual assets people felt were missing were nailed in Arkham Knight like that cinematic depth of field effects and weather effects so they can probably improve on the visual end. I don't know enough to know what needs to change in gameplay department, still need to play it.

I still see Ubisoft as the one doing more new (innovative?) stuff than EA and Activision (that just like copying eachother at times)

An Egypt setting for AC would be very cool too.

Crappy site announces sequel to crappy gane. Yay.

On the subject of Assassins Creed Ive just completed Rogue on PC. Underrated. Better than unity and Syndicate I would say by quite a distance.

@charizard1605: I have, played it to death. Very good game.

I think it's a classic case of a publisher milking a series into oblivion. The games are hated just because of this, but if for any reason you can get in to one (and burn out means a lot of people can't) you may find there's good in there still. And Rogue for me along with Black Flag was the pinnacle.

I think it'll be a pretty big improvement over Watch Dogs but I'm way more hyped for Assassin's Creed in Egypt right now, even if it's further away. Can't buy too many open world games or I'll be burned out.

EA has to show the open world Star Wars game that Amy Hennig and Jade Raymond are working on. There's also Suicide Squad, Superman, Shadow of Mordor 2 and Justice League from Warner.

I totally agree with you Char. I absolutely hated Assassin's Creed 1, but man, I enjoyed the hell out of AC2.

2016's UBIsoft game...

Watch dogs was not a sustainably good experience... It was new ip though and that at least offers potential for fixing alot of the games shortcomings and still have some impact.

Can't wait to hear Ubisoft's BS and overhypage of this game. Its replacing Ass Creed for this year. Wouldn't surprise me if these two will cycle every year so we don't see as much Ass Creed spam. ubi saw how people are losing interest in their shitty Ass Creed so Watch Dog is here for the rescue.

I loved WD and I hope the sequel doesn't feel like an expansion. New protagonist too because Aiden is over.

The first one seems like a complete turd, they need a longer dev cycle than just two years. No matter what they do besides Rayman they just rush it and ruin potential.

@charizard1605: Maybe it was just me but for its faults and monotony, I still had fun with AC. Now AC2 was a great step up. Brotherhood was fun, never finished Revelations, got psyched for 3 because as a US history buff the setting had me. Game was passable. I haven't played another since. I have AC4 free from X1 GWG and haven't fired it up and haven't bought any since 3. I just don't care about them. Watchdogs I bought day one and put a few hours into and felt like I was in AC land again. I just didn't give a crap about who I was, why I was doing anything, what I could do. It was by no means a bad game. I just don't care for it. Watchdogs 2 would need to be something incredible. Like Dark Souls/Witcher 3 incredible for me to buy in again.

Ass Creed at least had cool unique ideas of its own at the time it came out, Watch Dogs is derivative as **** across the board, and banal to play. It's going to be another Ubisoft game, that plays like the other Ubisoft games.

Good to see Ubisoft changing directions. They will go back to work, retool, refresh and try their darnest to give us the best experience possible.
