It looks like GTA but with a different structure to the game. It actually sounds very interesting, however I don't know if I trust Rockstar to deliver on a mystery/detective type of game.
I'm afraid the tasks will become tedious much like the rest of Rockstars titles. A lot of the features sound interesting, especially the questioning/interrogation sections - then again I don't know if we'll see some variety of if all the missions seem rather similar like past Rockstar titles (at least, my view of them).

Well R* aren't developing the game. Team Bondi is. R* are just publishing.
You can bet that R* is closely tracking and helping in development though, not many publishers "develop" their games :)
looks like a rental, no replay value, once u beat the game u will know all the clues and cases....right?
This is nothing like GTA or RDR people... you're a detective, solving cases.
RDR was a masterpiece and I expect about the same quality with L.A. Noire. But they are two different games.
Looking forward to solving crimes & interrogations more than the shoot-outs. This is a high priority game for me. I don't mind if there isn't a multiplayer, been awhile since I bought a SINGLE PLAYER ONLY game.
Who knows? The game might have multiple endings depending on the clues you find and the cases you solve.looks like a rental, no replay value, once u beat the game u will know all the clues and cases....right?

While I watched, this masterpiece-to-be had me wowed on epic proportions.
I love what they have built so far. The interrogation lets the player separate the the truth from bullsh*t by mere astounding facial animations and its actually mindblowing because the fact that video games have come this far and L.A. Noire is the first to make it happen on consoles is a technical marvel.
And this time we're playing as Cops/Detectives which makes this a whole different sort to what R* has given us. Huge potential if done right.
Although it seems they are still suffering from the Gameplay syndrome(which will somehow lack in the end), but seeing how this game's fundamental focus is the story its perfectly understandable. I just hope they deliver it with a great pace and very well told ala Heavy Rain.
Looking very much forward to this.
Shooting and driving looks meh. Graphics are below average, despite the good facial animations. But the investigation system looks very, very interesting. I wish it was a detective game without action.RyuRanVIIEurgh these comments are ridiculous, it's a freaking open world game, it looks amazing considering that.

Imagine if there were two guys you had as suspects and you chose the wrong one and got lead on a wild goose chase that ends up with the other guy escaping or killing another person. Obviously this is all just speculation but it seems like this sort of thing will be in the game to some extent.

[QUOTE="Sp4rtan_3"]How are people calling this RDR :? RDR takes place in 1911 fictional west while this takes place in 1947 post WW2 LA :lol:mrmusicman247Because Rockstar's name is on it.
A lot of people seem to think that so I'm going to compare it to Manhunt ... or no wait Table Tennis :P
Bioware. You just got ousted for best dialogue/voice acting. Peoples' facial muscles TWITCH in this game. WTF! That's amazing. Now if only the walking and movement animations didn't look so game-y, this game could set the new standard for the industry.
They're all completely different franchises I don't see why they all need to be wacky and over the top. GTA? Yes. RDR? No, fine as it was, had a mix of weird characters and fun missions as well as serious stuff. But LA Noire, how the hell would it work without being serious "Oh yeah here's a gritty story about serial killers, but you play as a clown!!! And you can fly planes and fart and stuff, yey!!!"looks to be as boring as Red Dead and GTA4. bleh.
Rockstar, stop trying to be realistic because it takes out the fun.

Whatever helps you sleep at night... Anyway, It looks amazing and the action sequences seem to be limited with more actual detective work being displayed. We've had enough *Run, Run, Shoot, Shoot * from Rockstar this gen. Oh and the facial animations looks SICK!PS3 was the lead platform.
Gameplay trailer is from PS3.
PS3 will be the superior version.grongo2

errr..Red Dead's map is so huge, yet it was empty. in between towns what can you interact with? animals that you can shoot, and people you can shoot. that's about it. and collecting plants. that's as boring as it gets. Red Dead's story missions are nice and all, but the other stuff is just boring and repetitive. how many times have you seen a guy being chased by wolves? good gawd.
not saying LA Noire should be wacky, but it shouldn't be too realistic. did i say it should be over-the-top and wacky? im not asking for a Saint's Row 2 or a Vice City, but i don't want a boring and bland open world. from the looks of it, the movements look to be the same as Red Dead and GTA4. mash X to run, no jump button, etc. which gets old real fast. very limited of what you can do.
no matter how big a map is, when you can't do anything on it, what's the use? the NPCs do nothing at all to add to the experience. they all react the same way.
