It's an aerial combat shooting game, maybe comparing it to say Ace Combat 6 would be more worthwhile ;) Aerial shooters arenever that hard to make look pretty, just look at previous Ace Combats or Rogue Squadron etc

I guess at this level, it is like comparing apples to oranges....take your pic. In my eyes, however, these graphics are indeed better than Gears of War, lol. Based on what I have seen anyway. As for the comments about, "how does it play"....Well, I suppose that remains to be seen by us all.

As for myself, I am extremely excited about this game, as it is about more than just "flying dragons", lol. It is obviously about a warrior/knight (you) in a war torn, but BEAUTIFUL epic, fantasy setting, that rides dragons into battle, trying to defeat enemy armies in order to bring, peace, and justice to the land, lol....All that good stuff.

I don't know, I think that it is really more or less just the whole concept of the game, along with the way it looks as well, that has sold me on it. As I am a sucker for fire breathing dragons, knights, and the like. It looks to be one of the first major players on the PS3 as well. That is another reason I am excited for this one.

My thinking exactly.;) How can anyone nitpick over graphics like that? Also, how can ANY GAMER WORTH HIS/HER SALT not be excited about what the PS3 may indeed be capable of when they see that games like this are getting ready to be released?

Nice but was any of it gameplay? Last pic looks like it to me cause it's the worst one of the four.

I have to say one thing people dont take into account is how well gears is done from an artistic stand point. The art direction in that game is brilliant, the design of the levels and characters, the textures and lighting used. It has it's own authentic look and feel. Like the way Tim Burton has with his movies how when you see it you know it's a burton film, Gears has that and not many games can claim that so I'm just saying graphics is one thing but it's the graphics on top of the art design that makes it breathtaking for Gears. To me Lair looks good graphically (although the gameplay vids I saw didn't look too amazing) but design wise it doesn't look memorable for IMO based on what I've seen mind you

You know what? I can guarantee that if Lair were a Microsoft Studios exclusive game for the 360 all of the sudden, alot of the opinions in this thread would flip flop faster than George Bush does when making more excuses for the War in Iraq to continue.

Now, I own a PS3 and a 360, and I love them both, but despite the PS3's young age, there is indeed a BRIGHT outlook as far as killer games go, and Lair is just ONE of them. All of you slanted, basher types KNOW this deep down too....even though you would never admit it here.

Maybe that is the reason all of the slanted Microsoft flag wavers, behind the scenes, secretly want all of the exclusives and new IP's that are going to be coming out on the PS3. My, my, to be such Playstation haters, you all sure do like the games an awful lot when one or two of them float your way, lol. But, lo and behold, if they stay exclusive to Playstation, you bash them to no end....even when they obviously look incredible.....like LAIR does. 

I think Gears is in trouble.

Honestly I don't think those pics look like gameplay maybe I'm wrong. But I have seen vids of the gameplay and they don't match that.
