I'm not sure if anyone outside of GB will understand what the Top Gear test track is but all my friends who want this are hyped just for that track, me includedhoosier7
The internet. No matter where you live you can watch every episode of Top Gear ever if you feel like it. I'm not sure Americans would like it though. :P

At the moment the Top Gear test track is the only reason why I care about this game. If there are crappy Volvo estates in it then that's another reason.

Cars have detail, the tracks arn't a strongpoint.Tobin09
Car models in GT5 are the best Iv'e seen. Hopefully the environment graphics are still placeholders.Marka1700
To me it isn't about the graphics when it comes to the tracks. Polyphony is better at designing tracks than any other dev team out there. Nothing can hold a candle to GT's exclusive track line up.

[QUOTE="FirstDiscovery"][QUOTE="110million"][QUOTE="FirstDiscovery"]2D backgrounds = EPIC FAIL GT is a joke

Yeah man, those backgrounds make the game unplayable, my G25 wheel doesn't even work because of those backgrounds, maybe I should return it. :(

Graphically, PGR4 destroys it, models wise its JUST behind but environments and weather effects, it second to none. Its unbelievable how overlooked that game is

I absolutely agree with everything you said in my quote. But I do enjoy Gran Turismo, and it is different from PGR4, so I'm really looking forward to it as well.

Yeah. While PGR4 is beautiful, GT has a more photorealistic approach and right now it is the most photorealistic console game IMO.

Buying the game for the Top Gear track alone. Well, not really... I'm just so hyped that I can freaking go around the infamous Gambon's corner. I wonder if they will put the Suzuki Liana and the Chevy Lacetti into the game? Odd cars to request but I WANT THEM.

Be interesting to see if anyone can legit beat the Stigs time of 1.44.4 in the Liana without cheating and cutting corners etc. I wonder if we'll have the option to turn the rain on/off too just to make things more interesting??

Wow... no wonder its taken so long to make the damn game. The only track you need is the Nurburgring. It covers basically every kind of corner you can find on a race track.

I don't want a gazillion tracks! I want better car physics! Damage! REAL CAR SOUNDS (at least)! Forza does these for me.

I really want GT5, but at the minute the Top Gear test track is the only reason that makes me want to buy it.

I would rather have more tracks. Better physics and damage won't increase the replay value at all. Besides, I love what Polyphony is doing with the physics engine. It just makes the cars simply fun to drive.

They should bundle some of those trigger clips in with each premium copy of GT5 for those people who don't have the room to deal with a steering wheel. The Dual Shock 3 is the only thing that's really holding GT5 back.

Uh, what? You'd rather have a boatload of tracks than good gameplay mechanics? Okay... :|

And to the dude who reported me, that was not trolling. Just because I offended you by being skeptical of a RUMOR... sheesh...

I completely disagree with you...... Ironically.... because of the two values you find no importance in I have well over 700 hours in FM2.....

GT5 could have 1000 tracks and I would not care if the model stays the same as GT5P.....Different tracks will not replace the hollow feeling I get when I play GT5P......it's redundant..... mindless lap turning...and IMO shatters any replay value.....

Will all those tracks have trees that are really x's?

PBSnipes

Who cares? If you're in a position to notice that the trees look that bad while playing, you're doing it wrong.

I don't even think it is possible to get your car that high in the game. :?

Damage =/= Better Gameplay Rikusaki

Better, perhaps not. Deeper? Yes. Higher possibility of being better? Most certainly.

Not wanting more and being happy with '90's mechanics is not what a GT fan should be doing right now. They shouldn't accept whatever Polyphony throws their way. They should be demanding modern racing mechanics and high quality damage modelling. If Polyphony wants to remain the leader in simulators, they better deliver... because Forza and Forza 2 both outscored GT4 and GT5P.

forza 2 punished you for crashing... making it more reasonable not to, so damage aesthetically and gameplay wise matters.

The really funny thing is is that I own GT, GT2, GT3 and GT4. I bought GT2, 3 and 4 all new and loved them. Now I've moved onto Forza Motorsport. So that is 49,999,999 people that disagree.
