Left 4 Dead series is high overrated

What can i say, i love killing zombies. L4D has been my go to series for the past couple Halloweens, i play all october.

the first one was great, the 2nd one was crap. and its probably just me, but i found the game a lot more fun when it still had all of its glitches like tank parking in the safe room, moving objects to block doorways, and throw a propane tank to make the elevator floor dissapear. also the smoker instakill from the rooftop. hey they may have been seen as cheap, but when we chose to go as humans first every time and the other team always tried these things on us and failed, i had noremorse whenshowing them howyou properly screw over the other team.

Its underrated imo....

Left4Dead2 was a HUGE improvement over left4dead1 (minus the characters)

I like them, but don't love them. I really love the atmosphere and setting and level design, but it just feels very limited.

TC this is your second inflammatory topic today that you back up with little actual fact. I'm not a huge fan of the L4D series myself...don't own any of the games in it, but I wouldn't really call it overrated and while the series has received nice reviews, the game hardly gets much publicity on SW and it isn't one of those games i.e GTAIV or UC2 that has monstrously high review scores, so again while you have the right to call any game overrated the L4D series doesn't share the attributes of other games/series that are commonly called overrated.

I strongly disagree with you. When you have a good group of people playing Left 4 Dead is some of the best co-op fun you can have in a videogame. By far one of my favorite game series. Helps that i'm borderline obsessed with zombies though :)DoogieSushie

I have to agree that the variation in guns is minimal, there wasn't that much of a replay value for some reason that I don't really get myself.
Still it was FPS and they did something new. Therefor it can hardly be overrated.

Agreed, I think it shows how dated the Source engine is. It's an ok game, but does get boring very quickly

I fail to see how either of those problems (dull guns, bores quickly) relates to the source engine and not the game itself.

Whoops, didn't make myself clear. I think the game itself shows how dated the Source engine is i.e overall gameplay, guns, etc. With the exception of a few tweaks here and there, the game didn't really offer anything new. It sort of expanded upon the "zombie mod" in CSS.

The games are extremely repetitive....

Running around the same maps, killing dull and non interesting zombies who just throw there hands at you.

Versus matches take a long time and few actually stay for the whole duration.

Game gets old quick.
