With another year to polish it up, and the specific goal of setting the bar for console gfx, I really think Gears 3 will be the game to beat in 2011. Unless Rage can pull off some crazy looks we haven't seen yet. Crysis 2 and KZ3 will be right up there as well. It's gonna be a great year for shooters in 2011.

Since it looks like a close up of a pic, I would leave the resize bullshot possibility out. From the quality of the textures I would leave out the totally made up BS not even in the game bullshot possibility.I don't know what other type of bullshot possibilities I may be missing.

I would also say that this one is in game but it seems a close up so not very useful for overall purposes.

Errr teh wticher 2 isnt even out lets compare it to games that came out around the same time and show you why that argument makes sene for some games and not so much for others. Games like UC2 use alot of motion blur and good post processing effectscouple that with 2x MAA and when you see the game in motion its pretty hard to see jaggies. It also has amazing animations. Halo 3 for an exmaple doesnt use lots of motion blur or post processing effects it also uses some weird technique where the textures look great close up and actually look wosre futher away . Its animations are also average.

If you are talking about The Witcher 1 then you are correct in some things.

UC2 has better character models, animations and lighting.

But The Witcher has better textures and larger scale.

To be honest with you i think there a few games that do LOOK as good as The wticher 2 on consoles? but you gotta keep in mind Witcher 2 I think is suppsoed to be huge. If it looks like that and its the size of Oblvion then that is truley impressive. Most console games that look like that good are linear.

Considering the size and scope of the game is huge and there are only a few loading screens in the whole game.

It's not a corridor shooter like UC2.

You should really see the gameplay footage of it when he battles a boss with a large amount of enemies on the battleground.

Or when he goes out into the city.

Although compressed videos will not show the true quality.

The Witcher 2 is the Crysis of rpgs.
