Lemmings, stop making the forza franchise out to be more than it is!

Forza is a AAA franchise. GT is not. Sure, sales matter for the company, but it does not make it a better product. Filet mignon is obviously better than a McD's hamburger, but that's not what the majority eats, is it? Forza is the cream of the crop, my friend.

We are not on Gamerankings. Here on Gamespot Gran turismo isn't an AAA game, on the other hand Forza is AAA. As for the Sales part, I though sales don't matter.

Besides updated cars, and improved graphics, I don't feel that GT offers anything truly innovated. I just feel that Forza is taking leaps in improving their games everytime another one comes out. Forza 3 will truly be amazing, and after seeing GT Prolouge I just can't see it going anywhere further.

So far, Forza has been a consistent AAA series here on GS with the third game looking to be even better than the first two....

It seems to be pretty damn good to me.....The Forza franchise has always been really good, why should people say otherwise?

Forza is undoubtedly better than Gran Turismo. But it's not by much. If Polyphony can add damage tweak the a.i. and physics, then gameplay wise we will have twins separated at birth. But if the rumored track editor is true then GT5 can make a huge splash

The one feature I hope everyone rips from FM3 is the unlimited rewinds. I just don't always have the time to restart an entire race

Gamespot only matters in SWs. Don't like that rule, then you may be in the wrong place.

And even in the "real world", FM is still a AAA franchise, while GT is not.

When will you cows realize that when GT 1-3 did so well, there was absolutely NO competition for the console racing sim.

When Forza came along, standards rose, thus you can't bring GT 1-3 into the equation, because there essentially was no competition to be compared with.

Forza gave GT4 a run for its money, crafting an overall better racing simulator

What's this Gamespot only crap? Since when do we only use Gamespot to determine the OVERALL quality of a game? Gamespot's scores are only used when we are determining a flop or not. We can use all the score we want when we talk about the overall quality of a game.

I dont agree with just using Gamespot's scoring system. When it comes to general concensus, I find it more reliable to use something like GameRankings.

However, I also don't see why you are trying to put down Forza when the very site you use also holds Forza so close, and sometimes better, than GT.

As it stands right now Forza is the one generating more hype since it is closer to release. More power to the lemmings IMO, they have a right to hype a AAA game.

Those games coexist for a reason. Contrary to popular belief in SW, one game is not out to get/kill/slay the other.

Forza is a better game. I liken the GT - Forza debate to the passing of the torch in sports. A player gets old and the younger guy comes in and takes his position at the top. GT had it's day, but the sun is now setting.

It dealt with the current GT5 and logic discussion, so no, it was very much on-topic, as we're discussing both titles in this thread. I contributed it would seem, as you are now having a spirited discussion. There is no need to say someone has "screwed up logic", though. No need for insults. If you want to debate, then leave the insults elsewhere. The said debate will gain more traction and recognition that way.
