Lemmings now have more shooters to pick from on Xbox and realize games like COD4 and Half-Life Orange Box are far better products.

Halo 1 was the introduction to the shooter genre for many lemmings and thus they put it on a pedestal it never deserved. Now that you've had a chance to play other good games in the genre, do you finally admit Halo 3 is a flop?

Halo 3 earned $170 million on its first day at retail, sold 5.2 million units in its first two weeks, and is 90%+ at GameRankings and Metacritic.

I personally didn't think the game deserved all the really high scores it got, but guess what? I never let my personal opinion get in the way of my logical evaluations, and Halo 3 cannot, in any realm of logical thinking, be considered a flop, in any way shape or form. :|

Despite what you may think, Halo 3 is still played by many people, going neck to neck with COD4 on LIVE.

You're saying Halo 3 flopped not based on sales or reviews, but simply because people are now talking about upcoming games more so than Halo 3. I love the Halo series, but I don't talk about it all the time. It has come, did it's thing and went.But based on reviews, sales, and number of people online (Which typically ranges from 100,000 to 300,000 in my experience, Halo 3 is not a flop. It was a massive success.

oh, whats wrong with Halo branching out? is it doomed to forever be in the fps genre? Mario did it, and people love the spinoffs. Give Halo a chance, let it spread its wings.

Can't agree, COD and Halo battle it out on live, even though COD has the edge right now. Soon I think RS:Vegas2 is going to be up there with the two of them.

this series is huge, regardless of your attitude towards it. of course a lot of people online complain about the game, but popularity always bring out the haters, and Halo haters are a group that just won't give up to make this game look bad. Look at you for example, a hater! I'm sorry, but thats how I see it, from all the things you could do, you start posts just to try and prove that a game you don't like sucks, or flops? Cows trying to drag other factions down with their lackluster library of floptitude. MetaCritic, Gamespot and Gamerrankings all gave it a 9.3-9.5 and it was hyped AAA at which it recieved.

Your opinion is of the minority especially since your hyping mundane, generic looking games like Haze, Bad Company and Killzone 2. An average developer made game, a below average developer made game and a failing developer made game. Wow.

In sales? It has sold millions, so no. Online popularity? 700 000 unique players every 24 hours disagree. Score? 90% + on GR and a 9.5 on Gamespot.

As overrated as Halo 3 may be, its about as far away from a flop as you can be without being a timeless classic.

Halo 3 is still good ... not only for its standard modes, but for all the little things not possible in those "better" FPS games

Rocket Race, Infection, Grif ball and etc.

games are about being enjoyable and Halo is FUN

There is a reason why its one of the top rated games for 2007 on both metacritic (94) and gamerrankings (93). If you want to be a fanboy about it go ahead but don't try to force your opinion on everyone else as if your opinion is somehow better than everyone elses.
