[QUOTE="lightleggy"] is not cheap at all...its great because the developers manage to read what your reaction will be when you see the monster...I take for granted you havent played amnesia or have not even seen it...if thats the case you cant discuss about this game...not until you try it and realize there is nothing cheap about the scares in amnesia...that part which I described there specially blows up your gutslightleggy
I'm not calling every scare in amnesia "cheap" im calling this particular one cheap, you probably didn't played lots of horror games because this whole "turn around, something pop in your face to surprise you" have been done oftentimes. Don't get me wrong i saw a gameplay video on youtube uploaded by the game company themselve and i won't deny, the game is extremely atmospheric from what i've witnessed.
Of course the experience varies from players to players, to me this particular moment you had was just a cheap attempt at "scaring" the player.
I have actually played quite a few "horror" games I call them "horror" because I rarely gets scared...that particular scare in amnesia is not a cheap one because..,you see the monster walking at the far end of the hallway, and from what it looks like ,the monster doesnt see you...you wont get this if you dont play the game but everytime you have a monster nearby your heart just stops...and in this part, the monsters runs from side to side really fast so you can actually only see a blurry figure running...so you open the door at your left, its a cell door (the doors in amnesia are opened 100% manually...you may leave a door half open or at any angle you want) and you enter the cell, the cell only has 1 way to enter and thats the door you just used, so when you enter the cell its completly empty and you say "phew..." and close the door...when you look back, the monster somehow got inside the cell and now you are trapped in a room with the monster...you get extremely tense and your heart pumps really fast...seriously you wont understand if you dont play the game
Ahhh now thats better explained. See, when i quoted you first, i thought you meant you turned around and blam, the monster appeared in front of your face like in pretty much every single damn "horror" movies these days.
So basically its a simple misreading error by myself, i apologize.
