But people have higher expectations of the PS3 with all its power (and cost). So obviously it will be better than KZ1 when compared head-to-head, but how about relative to today's games like Gears and Halo3?

The point is if the fist one sucked, why is there even a sequel? It's not like KZ is a unique gaming world not available in anyother game. So why waste the time? THey would have been better off giving ita new name and saying Killzone sucked so we are letting that die.

Im a cow and im going to end this right now. Halo will be rated above an 8.5 because its halo, and every halo fan will buy it and enjoy playing it and it will sell vary vary well. Killzone 2 on the other hand can be any where from a 6 to 10, and there is nothing to judge killzone2 on but that trailer(which looks cool), but its not enough to judge a game on. Also killzone1 sucked something else it was the worst shooter i have ever played, it has squares around the enemy so you know where they are at all times, you can lay down instantly and start shooting, the movement is awful, overall a crappy game. The only ps3 shooter that can possibly beat halo is haze but no one knows for sure.mattyomo99

That logic is crazy. XBOX was more powerful than the PS2, which had better games? It's the developer's talent, not the power of the console, that determines the game quality. Gears of War vs. Resistance... just one example. Killzone 2 is just not a good franchise, it has failed to live up to hype, Halo on the other hand is a solid franchise that has always gotten good reviews, and is just plain fun to play.
