lets face it, if ps3 gets games like the 360 they might get somewhere until then no price drop will help them unless they go dreamcast status stop production and just sell the remaining stock at a really really low price and then a new brand shall be born

Recent showings of production cost shows 360 costing $323 it produce while the PS3 cost $840 to produce. This is from last November.

The TC claim Sony's games division was still profiting from PS2 sales, and i proved otherwise.

I'm sorry bud, but technology goes forward, not backward, as do the production costs.

Its going to come down to games, always has and it always will, that's how the playstation lead the industy last time around. With MGS being 08, this year is owned by the 360. Next year may be a different tune, thats when i see Microsoft's first opening really for Sony to jump on. And they probably will then, but it may be too late.

The funny thing about all ofthis is that it's not official so it can either be true or false so jumping the gun on a rumor is just silly. because if it doesn't happen the TC along with others will look foolish. And about microsoft not affording a price drop? neither can sony aswell.

Not exactly as consumers are looking at the 360s lower price but many have qualms about Red Rings of Death and other "gifts" from that console. As far as the PS3 its reliable but the price is high for many consumers. As far as the Wii the price is good and thats about it as the sound is lower in quality and the capability of the Wii console is lower than other options with most Wii games being a rippoff for the consumer.

So now with a lower or competitive priced PS3 we get consumers buying that want peace of mind, an included High Definition player and upcoming games like Rachet and Clank, RE 5, FF XIII, MGS4, Drake, Haze, FF Versus, etc. and no worries about the console dying all of a sudden.

With the 360 we get about the same price with no included High Definition playback(correct me if I am wrong), plenty of games and it can stop working all of a sudden (consumer fear RRofD and others).

So Ps3 wins here due to reliability factor.

And the Wii has Wiifit, WiiPlay, Cooking Mama, Mario Strikers, Metroid, etc. but for the most part the majority of Wii games ripoff the consumer with low quality(see shovelware) , lower quality audio and lower quality in the rest of the consoles capability, but it does have a low price point.

Its a tossup folks as many folks are going to go gee 150 bucks more to get the full featured RELIABLE one or settle for the low price point. Most folks want the good stuff(and they want it to work every day!) but do not want to pay much money for it so I see the 360 and Wii sales being squeezed a bit and the PS3 increasing but then hey thats just my opinion.

The 360 dying=nope! but I do see 360 and Wii sales being lower and PS3 sales being higher.

Exactly. No threat here. Besides, PS3 will NOT be $400 this year. Too soon. Maybe at the end of 08 but by then Xbox 360 will be $300, and much closer to the prime selling price.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Confirmed?

Well, in any case. What's the big deal? The big-deal is that just like the PS3 tech-demo, the video in Crisis Core also cuts off as soon as Cloud jumps off the train. The difference is that at the end of the video, the image reads: "to be continued in Final Fantasy VII." Now at this point, Square-Enix is doing nothing more than just stabbing at my heart and poking an old bear with a stick. Seeing as how FFVII cannot be purchased anywhere, and videogame stores do not carry PSOne games anymore, it's essentially confirming the remake of FFVII for the PlayStation 3.

No. The PS3 will not be $400 this holiday season unless Sony doesn't mind losing about 5 billion for their 4th quarter. I doubt Sony will release a 40GB PS3. Why would they make a SMALLER storage PS3 after releasing a larger 80GB PS3? That would be stupid. They should have just dropped the 60GB PS3 to $400, if that was the case. Most gamers would rather get the 80GB PS3. Still, the system will still be priced higher then the Wii and XBox 360. Well see what happens at the TGS.

It's $150 more right now at $499 for the 60GB. Sony is still looking million at this price. If they released a 40GB PS3 for $400, they will even be losing a LOT more money. It cost Sony about $700 to make the 80GB PS3. They will be losing about $150-$200 for every $400 40GB PS3 they sold. That's a lot of losses.
