With full simulation damage on you can completely render you car inoperable, not able to move. GT I can plow into a wall at 210 mph with one of my F1 cars and bounce of the damn wall and keep trucking. You were saying?

owned!!!! this is why gt is better than forza! i approved also, and i seal also
What the hell? Dude, you cant be serious. Lemme make sure I got this straight. GT ownz because you can fly around the track, if you make a mistake (hit a wall, collide with a car) its of no importance because you can just bounce off of walls w/o having to worry about the consequences of your skill or lack thereof? In Forza you get punished for your actions.
lmfao!!! forza does suck!!! nice man nice!!! and nice 360 fanboy pic you got, lawl that's funny!!!
a 9.2 sucks? :|by your logic, GT4 is horrible because it got a 8.9

true.thats as realistic as they could get. Its a game. If thecars were to be completely destroyed whenever you crash, then the game wouldn't be playable.renger6002
i guess i'm one of the few that really want 100% realistic crash damage.
i think that if you keep hitting cars and walls, your ride deserve to be so f*cked up, you shouldn't be able to finish the race.
that's when driving skills come into play, always perfect your turns, avoid getting hit, then you'll finish first. shouldn't that how a driving sim should be?
Wait, having real damage will kill the buzz out of Forza? are you kidding me? Has anyone ever played Toca?RazMaTaz-1yup and..
9.2 >>>> 8.5
thanks anyway. ;)
Forza is def a great racing game but GT is by far the best racing series, It always has been and always will be, and GT on the ps3 will be no acception. GT will do everything forza 2 did and then some

Sorry sir. But nice try. GT3 was released in... July of 2001. The Xbox wasnt released untill November of the same year. GT3 was competing with itself. So that arguement doesnt work as far as the score is concerned...

thats my point, his analogy does not work because hes comparing Forza 2(next gen) to a last gen (GT4) game
[QUOTE="spinecaton"]I'm sorry, but if I was to accidently hit someone in Forza and I had to completely stop racing each time because my car was just in no condition to drive, I wouldn't have nearly as much fun as I do now.Supafly1
Bingo.
people need to read this thread more carefully. Have you lot played Toca and have you seen the damage in that game?
I'm sorry, but if I was to accidently hit someone in Forza and I had to completely stop racing each time because my car was just in no condition to drive, I wouldn't have nearly as much fun as I do now.spinecaton
all the guy was trying to prove is that fanboys need to shut up. i even hear them going on and on about how much Forza 2 owns GT in graphics and realism. the guys just saying that really none of them are that real so the fanboys need to shut up.

Oh ok. My bad. I thought he was comparing Forza to GT3 and Forza 2 to GT5.

What about those of us who want that realism? If you hit something you do have to start over or finsih a race with a damaged car. Playing GT series I knew other than my tires going bad, worse case scenario I could just bounce off the walls....
Some of us want to limp our cars over the finsih line, knowing the transmission and clutch were screwed. Gives a sense of accomplishment underr very bad odds. But its different strokes for different folks, which is why I have GT3, GT4, Forza and Forza 2.
And I get called a lemming?
[QUOTE="renger6002"]is it opposite day?

Seriously, what the *bleep* is going on with LeDavester? He's like a robot you see in sci-fi shows short circuiting from a logic paradox his articifial brain just can't process
At least Forza 2 has damage modeling. GT:HD is a last-gen racer; it's got non-modeled backgrounds, overdone motion blur, 30 fps and you can drift around corners like Mario Kart DS.HyperMetaDragon
GTHD is a vamped up last gen game and yet it still looks better than a true next gen game(forza 2).
Clearly you havnt played GTHD, because the drifting in GT is just as impossible as it is in Forza.
GTHD runs at 60fps aswell :|
[QUOTE="RazMaTaz-1"]hey [QUOTE="BigDaddyPOLO"]I played GTHD and I thought Forza 2 had way better graphics so I'm not sure what you're talking about.osirisomeomi
are you really sure about that?
Uh, are those all from the video game or are some real? I honestly can't tell, though granted, they aren't really high rez shots. If GT5 looks like this, it'll be scary real. I look forward to seeing it next year.
It doesn't look like that, the replay mode does.[QUOTE="Mil-m5"]Damage in forza 2 isn't realistic but as long as it isn't only cosmetic, it adds significantly to the gameplay. OXIIIIXO
So, getting a dent in your bumper after you crash into another car or wall at 100mph adds to the gameplay?
I don't see how.
Try again. With full simulation damage on, you can destroy the steering rod, transmission, clutch, the suspension, brakes, engine and drive shaft...
people like jessesalinasshould listen up.
Neither Forza OR Gran Turismo are realistic sims. I own a Lexus IS200, and my younger bro owns a BMW M3 old shape. I have played Forza, and neither the Lexus in taht game or the M3 drive like it does in real life. POINT 1
Secondly, Forza has damage. Is that damage realistic? far from it. Crash a SLR at 100 mph and the bumper falls off and loss of paintworkf? wow, realism at its finest
Here are some life like examples of supercar crashes:
DAMAGE(100mph crashes)
NASEEM HAMEDS SLR
ENZO
COMPARED TO:
I look at Forza, and i compare it to a game like Toca Race Driver, and i have to admit, the damage in Toca is far more realistic than Forza. Atleast if you crash your car in Toca, you engine fails, yourwheel breaks offetc.
THATS REALISM RIGHT THERE.//
HEAD ON COLLISION
quite laughable
GAMEPLAY
But but teh 9000000 parametres in Forza is betta than deh 300 in GT
Is it noticable? no
Is the gameplay far different fro m GT and Forza? not really
Im not saying the gameplay sucks. They are both brilliant games, but these games being an example of life like cars? far from it
A Ferrari can corner around a bend at 100mph WITH EASE. In Forza and GTHD, you can barely corner a ferari at 70mph.
-------
Conclusion: Neither Forza or GT are realistic. The fact taht Forza is a better game than GT is debatable. This is how i see it
GT3=Forza2>>Forza1>>GT4
I aint including GTHD because its nothing more than a tech demo, even though the graphics beat the hell out of all the games i have mentioned in this thread. GT4 was not that great, far from it. It was very boring to be fair, but GT3 somewhat kept me entertained for a very long time, and i sitll think its a kick butt game.
This is just my oppinion, so dont go awol on me :P
your thoughts?
RazMaTaz-1
This must explain why when I hit a wall doing 100 in forza my car crumpled and won't even drive afterwards. If you turn the damage all the way up on Forza and crash, your car will die....is it 100% realistic? no, but its the best damage system I have seen so far.
