Most people forget to mention any of this. If you play the game on it's hardest difficulty with no assists, it's pretty crazy. Driving a RWD car at 180 mph is near impossible.

I don't see how any of you all give a damn about these games any more? I'm getting burnout.odin2019

Yeah very few games can do car damage as good as Burnout.

@TC: Formula 1: CE has better damage as well.

Sony focuses on the racing aspect. Not the demolition aspect that is suppose to be non-existant in a racing sim.

So let me get this straight. Sony produces a racing sim that is suppose to be "realistic" but w/o damage to your vehicle??

i think they're just games, no matter how you see it, games that exists today can never achieve full realism. Hence I laugh at some posts about realism in video games. If you want reality, go out there and actually play sports and drive real cars.

Maybe in the future-- these realism may exist :0

dorfoz

Yeah I know what a pack of idiots they should just go to WWII or go driver their F1 car around an F1 circut.

To TC
Don't go Away WithOut Leave? What does that mean? Don't ignore your post? Do you want racers to all be like burnout? Are you opposed to realisum? I know it's not perfect but if people stop trying then we will all have Wii level graphics applyed to everything. Poor physics poor controls poor graphics poor MP poor everything because 'what the point in trying if RazMaTaz thinks it's not perfect?'

Meh. They all look the same to me, and whether or not there's damage doesn't bother me at all.

in the end, car sims are far from real driving and don't offer much exciting gameplay... forza 2 is king right now. maybe GT5 will top it. i don't really care cause i wont buy either.

[QUOTE="RazMaTaz-1"]

hey [QUOTE="BigDaddyPOLO"]I played GTHD and I thought Forza 2 had way better graphics so I'm not sure what you're talking about.osirisomeomi

are you really sure about that?

Uh, are those all from the video game or are some real? I honestly can't tell, though granted, they aren't really high rez shots. If GT5 looks like this, it'll be scary real. I look forward to seeing it next year.

While I will give GT credit for having the most realistic still photos, the game in motion is completely different. I played the demo at a kiosk and it has the typical Sony graphics shimmering throughout the gameplay. This was a Sony kiosk so damage control is null and void regarding the settings of the tv or other...This game simply was not impressive. You drive, you dont feel any feedback from the controller, you take a turn too fast and bump.....thats it!!! No model damage, no damaged alignment, nothing, reminded me of Ridge Racer when you hit an object, you just roll right off and rejoin the race.

I have Forza 2, along with the force feedback wheel and while Im not big on driving sims ( the demo hooked me!!!), this game has me completely changed my mind about racing sims...

Game On.....

^^ I for one still love GT 4 and GT3. To say that Gt is "teh realistic" or "its teh racing sim, sony focused on driving!!" its ********. Its nothing but a bunch of fanbys running damage control as usual. The same fanboys that do 469 mph around turns on Burnout and Ridge Racer, then when they pick up a game like Forza and completely destroy their alignment or transmission because of their inability to actual BRAKE BEFORE A TURN, then the game is "teh sux" or "for teh nubs". Please...

GT fans are nutty sometimes....

In GT, you hit a wall doing 100 mph you can rejoin the race and possibly finish in first.

In Forza, you hit a wall doing 100 mph, you just totalled you car!!!

Thats the purpose of damage simulation in a racing sim, so you dont race your car as if you are playing Burnout.

Dont you think the game would kinda suck if you clipped another car and the front of your vehicle exploded, sending you flying off in a shower of debris before "GAME OVER" appears? :| Forza is brutal enough. If you want REAL driving, go drive a car. For a videogame, it kicks ass.

Damage in racing games will never be as realistic as in real life...that you should know. Forza 2 at least has damage which affects performance...GT does not. Forza's graphics leave much to be desired compared to GT's but the gameplay is better.

Maybe its just me. But my 40' samsung lcd hdtv says otherwise. I see no graphical problems with forza 2 other than the opposite side of the car is much darker than it needs to be when its not in sunlight.

Um excuse me. With full simulation damage on you can completely render you car inoperable, not able to move. GT I can plow into a wall at 210 mph with one of my F1 cars and bounce of the damn wall and keep trucking. You were saying?

renger6002

Ownage Approved and sealed.

owned!!!! this is why gt is better than forza! i approved also, and i seal also

What the hell? Dude, you cant be serious. Lemme make sure I got this straight. GT ownz because you can fly around the track, if you make a mistake (hit a wall, collide with a car) its of no importance because you can just bounce off of walls w/o having to worry about the consequences of your skill or lack thereof? In Forza you get punished for your actions.

its a sad day when GT fans think Bumper car physics are better.

Lol no. He is drunk with denial. Its sad because he makes all cows look like this....

i know, 360 fanboys are so sad, their always in denial, it's sad how they make lemmings look like this. i so agree with you.

yup, its opposite day.... either that, or they were giving away free alcohol somewhere

I think LeDavester has snapped and gone crazy.

Bingo.

What about those of us who want that realism? If you hit something you do have to start over or finsih a race with a damaged car. Playing GT series I knew other than my tires going bad, worse case scenario I could just bounce off the walls....

Some of us want to limp our cars over the finsih line, knowing the transmission and clutch were screwed. Gives a sense of accomplishment underr very bad odds. But its different strokes for different folks, which is why I have GT3, GT4, Forza and Forza 2.

And I get called a lemming?

good job for comparing a last gen game with a game from this gen. BTW the first Forza's damage modeling was a joke.

It isnt the first time ive heard people say that forza games cars dont drive like they do in real life. After playing it, im inclined to agree, it seems to be very 'drifty'. And I believe you can do those things in GT, but its more complicated or something, I think you had to choose options like that under the race parts they are installed under or something, but I dont remember, its been a while sinse i played gt. However, I once heard somebody else say that GT is the more realistic racing sim of the two series, and again, i do beleive that.

People here are talking about high detail and stuff in forza, but most of you are going on about the colour schemes and vinyls, but gt is equally detailed WHERE IT COUNTS. GT will absolutely trounce Forza from what ive seen.

On topic, either simulate damage realistically, as in real life, or leave it out, as it isnt something that matters in a racing sim.

All of them were being compared sir. Forzas damage modeling was a joke, so what was Gt's damage mode....woops....it didnt have damage modeling. Just bumpidy bump bump around the track. Hey that F1 car wont give you a passing lane? Just plow into him at the turn to show him whos boss. And youll even more than likely come in first. ;)

Its virtually impossible and not plausible. A thousand and one factors have to be considered in a "real life" crash. Angle of impact, speed of the vehicle, weight of the car, position of the engine, the objects weight blah blah blah.
