Let's get this straight, Lems. PS3 is matching 360 sales........ (56K is weak)

I wasn't saying VG charts is good merely that NPD is less acurrate (in determining worldwide sales) which were the numbers you wanted to use.

I know DS and PS2 aren't PS3, Wii and 360 I was merely illustrating that the US is not always "the best selling region for all these things"

Sales topics on these forums are silly.  Most of these kids haven't taken Grade 10 economics yet.  :D

I don't understand how people expect a system with a $200 higher price tag and a much smaller game selection with absolutely 0 big name games from last generation out to be equalling or surpassing the 360 sales right now.  As long as they keep pace for the first year that is all anyone can hope for.  Lets face it the real games aren't out yet and the PS2 is still selling.

I like Sony, as the games they are promising are actual console games, and not PC ports. As a PC Gamer, the only reason I have a 360 is for Mass Effect, Gears, and my beloved Sports games. Mass Effect will most likely come to PC anyway, as Bioware is a PC dev.

Sony seems to have the right idea when it comes to an online community. Granted, Sony has dragged their feet, but if they can get it together for this Holiday Season, they have a great chance of gaining back some marketshare. All these kids screaming on SW's  day in and day out don't have a clue about business or the real world. Sony has a lot of ground to make up, but there is no reason whatsoever that the PS3 can't rebound. Once the price cut happens, the whole landscape is gonna change. Afterall, MS is lagging bigtime, as in two years they have sold 10 million consoles, they need to sell a WHOLE lot more than that to even be considered a winner this gen.

I think many of the 360 games that a lot of kids hype here at GS aren't going to sell systems, and if any title does, it's going to be Halo, which I would bet a hefty wage that most people that want Halo already have a 360. Only a small minority of halo fans don't have a 360. Just look at Halo 2 on 360, it's the most played multiplayer game for the 360. That should tell you right there that MS is feeding the base more than anything.

PS3 is matching 360 sales at this point in its life after launch. That is shown below by the chart taken from VGCharts.

Whats funny about it all is that PS3 has only a percentage of the quantity of games that the 360 does and it is still selling as good. Also, 360 had no competition, zero, for the first year of its life. PS3 had an already established console and a console taking the world by storm to compete with.

And PS3 still matches the 360 at this point in its life!!! So remember this next time you want to holler about sales or quantity of games.

um, two of those games are for the ps3 as well....  So u only have two games to use for an arguement, but it still fails...  HALO 3 SAVE US!

PS3 is goign to need some divine intervention. Why buy a 600 dollar GTA4 machine, when you could buy a 400 dollar GTA machine that also plays Halo and Mass Effect?...

The only reason it was the fastest selling console was because Sony delayed the launch in Europe by serveral months which allowed them to produce enough stock to meet demand.
If the Wii had enough stock it would have been the fastest selling console hands down since it is still in short supply now. Also PS3 was the only console in europe not to sell out on launch!

anyway it was comparing all 3 consoles in Europe only , and the PS3 sold more than the 360 , Wii in its first week , and its probably the same story in Japan and maybe USA
