Some of the things you listed as being "copied" from Nintendo by Sony are just flat out lies, where is the proof? The Nes/Snes controller is NOTHING like the DS1. This is pure butthurt fanboy speculation.

As one other poster has already asked: What about Microsoft? Surely they can't be taken off the hook for creating the Kinect and having similar designs that could be argued as being originally from Nintendo.

Facebook wasn't the first social network. Texas Instruments didn't create the first calculator. Pepsi wasn't the first soda. Nobody cares who did it first people only care who did it best. Stella Artois wasn't the first beer. The list goes on and on. In other words...nobody but Nintendo fanboys care about who came first. Which is ironic because coming in first, for a long time, put Nintendo in last place.

Good ideas are good ideas, and people/companies take ideas from others, and twist/tweak them to be their own.

Take auto-tuning for example, that Songify this, auto-tune the news or whatever started making songs from the news with Auto-tune...Next you see it in a Scion commercial, and a Gears of War Gamestop commercial...If it's successful, people are going to copy it...

Sony actually had motion controls before Nintendo did you know, so who "copies" who? They ALL do. And that's a good thing, take controls for instance, Nintendo introduced the controll stick and what did Sony do? They took that idea and made it their own by adding two sticks and that soon became the industry standard that is still used today.

Gears copied killswitch and RE4, Splinter Cell copied Metal Gear, Nintendo copied motion controls from Sony ect....it's called competition, it improves products, get over it.

Everything. Including games.

Every company "copies" the other, it's called competition and it improves products. Fortuantely for us PS3 guys Sony happens to be the best at taking good ideas and making them even better, no one else in the industry is as good as Sony at doing that.

first console ever was the Magnavox Odyssey. They alone created a market and that was bold and insanely risky but no one gives them credit for it. Eveybody's like: Nintendo created this and that when all they have done is improving on things that have already been created like the joystick and stuff. But then no one gives credit to Sony when 98% of the games you play nowadays are being created with the button layout of "dual analog sticks and 4 shoulder buttons" that they brought up with the Dualshock.

You could argue that the PSP had a home button, and triggers (or rather, making better shoulder buttons) is kind of a natural evolution. Microsoft made console online gaming more accessible and mainstream but it wasn't the first either. I do love how this thread was basically debunked incredibly early, yet people ignore it, throwing around terms like damage control even if they don't know what they are talking about.

Nintendo's "innovations" were done by someone else first, Nintendo merely made them more mainstream, they didn't invent them. And as others said, Sony has improved on designs Nintendo made more mainsteam, but they themselves didn't necessarily invent first. So please people, quit with all the crying.

I personally don't find issue in the fact that Sony is releasing a fighting game with their most popular mascots per se. My main qualm is that the general styIe and design of the game seems to borrow quite a bit from Smash Bros.

The crossover fighting series originates far before Super Smash Bros.

Here is something people don't seem to quite get. Everything in the technology industry....

EVERYTHING, is reverse engineered from the competition, that's how it works. I mean I didn't read the last 5 pages but I doubt anybody brought up anything about Kinect being a modern PS2 EyeToy. Most recently, we've heard about how Microsoft copied Motorola's tech. They didn't even bother to change it up!
