compariing the amount of games a console that has almost 2 full years on the market to the new PS and Xbox that have been here for almost 6 full months, yep makes sense. Also, the Wii U is only good for exclusives while PS4 and XBONE are good for both exclusives and multiplats.
On top of what the worst selling console list ???
It is only a matter of time before Nintendo pulls the plug on the wii u. They most likely started working on the wii u 2 or whatever they will call it. I think it will be slightly stronger than the ps4. It will have no hard drive. It will be missing multimedia features. It will have crappy online gaming. It will have crappy 3rd party support. It will have a new controller with a gimmick. It will have mario, zelda, smash.
Basically it will be the same snafu Nintendo has been doing from the n64 days. As long as the same morons are in charge Nintendo will continue to flop.
Nintendo actually has a lot of exclusives being released this year. That's this year, not next year. Smash Bros. U? This year. Hyrule Warriors? This year. X? This year. Bayonetta 2? Most likely this year. The Order gets delayed, we know nothing about Uncharted 4, Quantum Break is a big mystery, Halo 5 is next year, The Division isn't till 2015, and Arkham Knight gets delayed the same week as Sonic Boom gets a 2014 release confirmation. And it's not like all these 2014 Nintendo exclusives are all they have: a lot of games like Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem are coming next year.
If you want to play PS4 or Xbox One this year, you better like multi-platform games or indie games, because the number of exclusives for those consoles this year is downright paltry. Hell, I'll play those multi-platform and indie games on my PC. When it comes to exclusives, this is Nintendo's year.
The wii u had a 1 year head start. I also have a gaming pc as my primary gaming platform. I also see they have a wii u emulator on pc as well. Face the wii u is cheaper with more exclusives and it is selling like shit. Unless sales pick up this holiday the wii u is dead.
They did pick up. A lot, actually. Over 600 percent increase in system sales last week in the UK alone, which is a region that tells Nintendo systems to piss off on a regular basis.
Also, why are you commenting here if you can supposedly play every game available on your PC? Your input apparently means nothing. Also, you clearly don't know what you're talking about if you think Nintendo will pull the plug on a system that millions have bought already. That's called Customer Service 101; any business knows that would make early adopters upset and they're important because they are the ones who care enough to buy the system first.
If you're gonna troll, put some effort into it. At least try.

The Wii U had Zombi U, NSMBU, Pikmin 3, and Super Mario 3D World in its first year, and all were excellent games.
Face it. The wii u is deader than tank tops.
The facts are, people don't want one. And they don't want one because it doesn't offer enough. It's trash. Last gen's technology with an awkward tack on. The games have been, to be kind, underwhelming. One or two good games paired with over rated nonsense.
People know that eventually the PS4 and X1 will take off, they haven't been out for long and it is always the way every single gen. And when the third parties get into the swing of things the wii u is going to look even less appealing than it does now.
Sheep are understandably desperate right now. "wii u is on top". "Nintendo are going to win E3". LOL. yeah right.

What does time on the market have to do with comparing what is best right now? If you want to talk future, that's fine, but since this is about the best choice right now, the Wii U's 1 year head start doesn't really matter. It still has the most quality games and most exclusives right now.
New system launches always suck. Thats why I wait before I buy new system. Not only do they not have any games they usually have a lot of hardware issue. I just bought a WiiU last month. I don't plan on getting a PS4 until black Friday at the earliest. Launch games are usually rushed and they don't utilize the system they're built on. Titianfall is practically a 360 game just with better lighting and textures. My cousin lives with me and has a PS4. He played Tomb Raider and thats it. His PS4 has been collecting dust the past 2 weeks. He went back to playing his PS3.
@Toxic-Seahorse: The future does matter though if you're talking about what's best "on the market". It is all that matters if you are about to drop over £300 for a machine.
Brool story Co
The Wii U is a year longer on the market and the only must have game is SM3D world. Not really impressive.
Wii U has been out for a year longer. If you align launches, the PS4/Bone have much better titles
Try harder
PS4? Oh, God, no. The Xbox One's launch lineup actually had some color, but Sony's was terrible. The only good games for PS4 at launch were multi-platforms and Resogun. Try harder.
people really blaiming marketing for the wii u's failure? I'm done.
Because that is a big problem. Not the only problem, but a serious issue. Before Mario Kart 8 was the focus, I saw barely any major Wii U commercials since the system launched. DKC: Tropical Freeze had a bit, but nothing special. No serious collaboration with promotional events and a lack of communication with retail outlets. Hell, the name was a problem. A lot of people mistook the system for a Wii expansion, simply because it shared the Wii name. It should've been called the Wii 2, Super Wii, or better yet, drop the Wii name altogether. Wii U caused consumer confusion; they didn't know what it was, at least not at first.
That's all marketing. Interaction with vendors, communicating the content through media, providing info about the system itself to consumers, it's all marketing. It's not just advertising; business is much bigger than that.
it got a year long head start and only barely has more games than either one of the new systems and won't be getting many new multiplats that aren't going to be cross gen. (Hell, even some games that are cross gen aren't coming to wii u)
that's not impressive AT ALL.

600 percent of what is the question??
My input is not blinded by fanboy goggles as yours seems to be. The ps4 and x180 only cost 100 bucks more and are crushing the wii u. The sales spike in a market that was not doing well is not cause to overlook the overall horrible sales of the wii u. The wii u has been rejected by the market and Nintendo has yet to address the major issues.
1. Rubbish 3rd party support.
2. Crappy online structure
3. 32gb storage gtfoh
4. Useless tablet controller with piss poor battery life and you only get one that is not portable.
5. ps4 is over 5x stronger but only cost 100 bucks more.
Don't shoot the messenger facts is facts. The emulator for the wii u is proof how weak the hardware is.
This topic is just like when Naomi Campbell remind us that at least she got a No.1 single in Japan ...... lolz

LMAO true nobody cares if they did the wii u would be sold out.
@Toxic-Seahorse: The future does matter though if you're talking about what's best "on the market". It is all that matters if you are about to drop over £300 for a machine.
I kind of worded that poorly. You're correct in that the future matters. My main point was that the system being out a year earlier should have no bearing on whether or not it's the best choice out. The Wii U's future games look just as good, if not better, than the PS4/xbone announced future games. Not to mention the Wii U actually has some great games coming out in 2014, where as everything for ps4/xbone seems to be getting delayed into 2015.
I have nothing against the ps4/xbone, like I said, I own a PS4. It's just that the Wii U is simply the better system right now when it comes to games and to me it will be until at least midway through 2015, in which the situation will have to be re-evaluated.
Ya if you like a million Mario games that are all the same and Mario Kart. Zedla is the real reason to get Wii-U but obviously its not out and nobody knows when it will release.
Ps4 and Xbone arent all that old and they already have better games. And ps3/360 have better versions of multiplat games.
people really blaiming marketing for the wii u's failure? I'm done.

that is rubbish as far as I'm concerned. Here is what really happened since it is apparently hard for people to see. Because of the success of the wii Nintendo failed to realize that success was not sustainable and that they were alienating a lot of core gamers. Because of this they went and did the exact same thing with the wii u expecting for lighting to strike twice. Well it didn't as it almost never does and they have a console that neither casuals nor core gamers want for the most part. The people that want a Wii U are the ones who are die hard fans of Nintendo franchises. So yes when a new Mario Kart is released it will sell and move some units. When smash bros. come out it will sell and move some units. Same with Zelda. But the casual gamers (who bought the wii in droves) don't want the wii u because it does nothing the wii can't do. They already barely play their wii to begin with so $300 for a new system that they will barely play isn't exactly attractive to them. Core gamers don't want the wii u because they look at it as another casual console from Nintendo. Unless they absolutely must play Nintendo franchises they wont want one. Not when the more impressive PSBone exists. No amount of marketing will change this conundrum. Simply put they botched it. Many core gamers are just waiting on new hardware from nintendo now and the casuals are still enjoying their wii.
Also one thing that people don't talk about. People don't really go about and buy new party games. They are still playing rock band from 2009. When me and my friends want to play mario kart we play the Nintendo 64 version or gamecube version. Guess what? We have just as much fun on those still. Same with smash bros. This is the problem you have when some of your best system sellers are party games. Party games are fun not because they are new and fresh they are fun because you are having a good time with other people. You don't need a $350 wii u to do this. That older nintendo console of yours will be just as fun when everyone has had a few drinks and are acting like a fool.
There are many reasons why the wii u is failing. Marketing is the LEAST important one. Fact of the matter is if the wii u captured the hearts of core gamers and the attention of casuals it would sell not matter what. Instead core gamers scoff at it and casuals are ignoring it (they all want tablets now).
Before fanboys start listing hardware sales quotes, i'm not talking about that......i'm talking.....
GAMES....X1 and PS4 are seriously lacking, the Wii U just hit a huge sales boost with the release of the Wii U Mario Kart bundle, i had to order mine to ship, because all local stores in a 100 mile radius were sold out.
As always every time Nintendo releases a first party title their hardware gets a major sales boost, and as far as i'm concerned, all they have to do at E3 is show game play footage or trailers of a new Zelda, Metroid or Smash Bros and hardware sales will go through the roof again.
What exactly does PS4 and X1 have as major exclusive hits right now? Infamous S.S. and Titanfall ?
Is anyone even still talking about or playing those games.
You guy's have to face it, just as i did, i bought a PS4 too, but there are currently no phenomenal exclusives to play, we're all playing the waiting game until at least October, Nov or 2015, and Nintendo knows this so i'm sure they'll have even more major game announcments at E3.
Sorry X1 and PS4 boys but between their latest software update and exclusives Nintendo has the most to game on right now, which puts them in the lead in my book.
Are you 12? Gen just started.
Ps4 and Xboner have a LOT games that is not on WiiU...
and the Wii U has A LOT of games that aren't on PS4/Xbox One. What's you're point?
I own both a PS4 and Wii U (as well as a gaming PC) and honestly the WIi U has been a much better purchase so far than the PS4. I actually kinda regret getting the PS4. Sure, Infamous was great, but other than that I've had no reason to play it.
Thats where i'm at too.

That's kinda my point, the only reason the WiiU has the most exclusives right now is because it has been on the market long enough for a fair amount to release. Given enough time on the market, the PS4 and XBONE will get their exclusives and then there will be no point in even bringing up the Wii U. Whats funny about all of this is that I will even admit that I love Zelda and Smash Bro, and maybe the occasional Mario Kart but its just not enough to pick up a Wii U any time in the near future.

You're treating the situation like there are "hardcore" gamers and "casual" gamers, but nothing in between. That's what's really rubbish.
Some gamers do their research through those Game Informer magazines, but when it comes to knowing specs or in-depth games overall, they don't have a clue. Essentially, the "Wii Sports" casual is not equivalent to the "dudebro" casual. The first is not as educated as the second. The second will cling to Playstation's name while the first will simply look for a "neat" system. Some casuals are fickle, others will play Call of Duty to death without knowing that it gets worse every year.
I don't deny the fickle nature of the casuals being a major contribution to the Wii's success and the Wii U's lack of success, but if you think that what you said is the only problem with the Wii U's situation, you're out of your mind.
Go into a Wal-mart and ask an employee where the Wii U's are. There's a good chance that they'll direct you to the Wii section. If an employee can't tell the difference between a Wii and Wii U, then your average consumer sure as hell can't. It's brand confusion, and it directly correlates with the casual audience's ignorance to gaming's intricacies and their fickle nature toward industry trends.
You're not treating marketing as anything but advertising, but that's not the entire picture. There are people who STILL don't know that the Wii U is a brand new console. Nintendo botched that advantage early on and they're still picking up the pieces from it. It's just not as simple as "the casuals left Nintendo."
people really blaiming marketing for the wii u's failure? I'm done.

They did not focus on their bread and butter a lot (children and young adults) and that is the biggest reason to why they are failing right now with the WiiU. They took a weird u-turn from there wii philosophy and decided to focus on the teens and adults if you saw what nintendo was doing with the WiiU in the two E3's before the console's launch. The gamepad was an afterthought to an extent.Nintendo is not the greatest with the teen and adult audience, but they are slowly starting to focus on their bread and butter again.I do agree they need to focus on the hardcore(or core market) a bit more, but they need to focus more of there attention on there bread and butter if they don't want to create another WiiU and they cannot ignore them. As a result there next console may not be as strong as the next gen ps or xbox consoles(there next console may be as strong as the ps4 or xbox one), but this will depend on the price they want that console to release for,it will have a better online infrastructure and more most likely.

You're not treating marketing as anything but advertising, but that's not the entire picture. There are people who STILL don't know that the Wii U is a brand new console. Nintendo botched that advantage early on and they're still picking up the pieces from it. It's just not as simple as "the casuals left Nintendo."
I get what you are saying but by "casual" in this context I'm referring to a none "gamer." Someone who the only game you would ever see them play is candy crush on their phone. A lot of people like that bought the wii. I mean a lot. Also even PC gamers like my coworker who only games on PC and has never owned a console but the Wii in his entire life got one. it made the numbers balloon an Nintendo thought they could recreate this again. They thought the new tablet control scheme would be attractive to them like the wiimote. I meann tablets are in right? They thought just like last gen they didn't have to have stellar hardware. That's what the wii proved right? That was their mantra last gen and it is again now. All the while they didn't realize just how volatile casuals can be or that gamers do want better and better hardware to keep up with the times. They kinda dropped the ball on many fronts. I'm not saying this the only thing. We can all agree on that. But believe this, if the Wii U was on par with the xbone or even PS4 it would be selling a lot better than it is right now. The entire narrative of the console would be different. Which was the ultimate point of my rant.
people really blaiming marketing for the wii u's failure?
It's not just advertising; business is much bigger than that.
that is rubbish as far as I'm concerned.

Nah, I follow you, man. No sweat.
The non-gamer crowd flocked to the Wii, but moved on afterward. I do agree with you that Nintendo pushed the Gamepad idea from the tablet hype, and while I like the idea of off-TV play, I'd like it more if the tablet didn't seem like such an afterthought to the developers. And don't worry, I agree that the non-gamers contributed to Nintendo's mindset here, but I still think that marketing was a huge problem. In fact, I also think it's the problem with something like the Vita, which has had next to no marketing here in the States. I think Nintendo was too torn this gen: they couldn't choose between going after the non-gamers or the core gamers, so they took a rather unhappy medium.
That being said, the Wii U's 2014 looks much brighter than the PS4 and Xbox One's. We actually have concrete 2014 releases for the Wii U, while games like The Order, The Division and Arkham Knight are getting shoved to 2015. Bayonetta 2 and X are what I'm looking forward to the most, with Smash Bros. U coming too. I think Mario Kart 8 proved that Nintendo can sell consoles if they actually push getting the word out on their awesome software. I want them to do more of that.
The genre that nintendo should have in the bag; RPG's are non existent on the wii u. If anything they can be the go to RPG console.
Even through lacking in multiplats, WiiU's library is a lot more appealing to me. Call me a sheep or whatever you want, I don't care. lol
But when games like B&G2, ME2 and KH3 will come out, time to get a PS4. 8) ..... or a XOne maybe if I change my mind later.

We get it, you're a troll and you hate the Wii U. Thus you're entitled to waste your life and write endless posts documenting your hate. Yet you've come up with lame assertions. Case in point--the Wii U already being hacked and playable on PCs. It most likely will occur at some point in the future. Just not now, and your point was wrong.
I'm just happy the Wii U is finally getting some traction. It annoys you to no end, but stuff like Lego City Undercover, Mario (both 2D and 3D) and now Mario Kart are getting some recognition. You could always respond with a "yeah, but it's been a year, and I expected more", and technically you'd be right. But, you (and other idiots) in the recent past were making incredibly dour claims about a premature console death and absolutely zero in the pipeline. Again, your accusation was wrong in hindsight.
Or, if you want to be consistent, at least move to the anti PS4, anti Xbone sections and regurgitate the hatred against new systems with no games.
Frankly, I'd be happy if Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft games were all playable on the PC, and were all delivered with some sort of Netflix subscription service.
Why are ppeople fine with nintendo announcing the ummteenth version of games we've been playing forever?
People seem to forget that Nintendo is Nintendo. Their backwards thinking philosophy is basically, ignore 3rd party support, while we Nintendo will support our consoles with Nintendo created games.
That is why Nintendo decided to Underpower the WiiU. So that it can play and process Nintendo games that only the WiiU is very capable of. Sure, it can pump out Ghost and other remaining 3rd party games slightly better than the 360 or PS3 counterparts. But in truth, Nintendo wanted a more quiet, minimal piece of hardware, powerful enough to run Nintendo only games, and just a mere amount of 3rd party games. That is why Nintendo games run at 1080p/60 because they're NOT exactly pushing polygons to extremes. They're colorful bright and cartoonish, all staples of Nintendo franchise graphics. It looks good, and runs smoothly, but they aren't exactly realistic....we're NOT talking levels like in The Witcher 2, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Skyrim, Forza 5, etc.
Also factor in Nintendo's inability to communicate with 3rd party publishers about the WiiU's capability was also detrimental to WiiU's situation right now.
compariing the amount of games a console that has almost 2 full years on the market to the new PS and Xbox that have been here for almost 6 full months, yep makes sense. Also, the Wii U is only good for exclusives while PS4 and XBONE are good for both exclusives and multiplats.
What does time on the market have to do with comparing what is best right now? If you want to talk future, that's fine, but since this is about the best choice right now, the Wii U's 1 year head start doesn't really matter. It still has the most quality games and most exclusives right now.
The thing is, you seem to be assuming that the PS4 and Xbox One are going to get a bunch of good exclusives while assuming that the Wii U won't. How do you know that Nintendo won't wow us with some more amazing games down the road? Who's to say that the Wii U won't keep up with the ps4/xbone in good games? I'd also like to point out that quality matters. What good is an exclusive if it isn't good? We know Nintendo is going to put out genius games, they rarely release a game I'd consider a dud. I simply don't have the same level of confidence in Sony and Microsoft. Don't get me wrong, the PS4 is going to get some great games in the future, I just don't see how assuming they will be better than Nintendo's is possible.
@asexualrobot: I also wish that all the console games were playable on pc. We know they are not so I pick the best console/s and go with that. Last gen it was the 360 and ps3 I had a wii but after the emulator came out (wii at 1080p) I dumped it.
For the next gen I am going with the ps4. It's the best console and Sony always brings the exclusives. I have been a long time Nintendo fan but they are frankly behind the times. Seems like forever Nintendo has been having the same problems. The games I loved on the snes/n64/gc/wii just don't get it done anymore for me.
I and many other long time Nintendo gamers have moved on. We told Nintendo what we wanted in the next console. What does Nintendo do the same old shit with a tablet controller. The wii u sales reflect how gamers feel about Nintendo. The only question is what stage of grief are you in with Nintendo??
Me I accept that Nintendo makes shit consoles. Seems like many sheep are in the denial and anger phases.
the AlphaOmegaSin Youtube dude said the same thing a year back. I think that'd be interesting too.
