Here's mine:

Gearbox - I'll never trust them again after an outright disgrace straight in the face of gamers and SEGA, bordering on embezzlement, that is known as Aliens: Colonial Marines. It's a shame because I really like Borderlands...

CD Projekt RED - They have killed my interest in The Witcher series and made me not anticipate Cyberpunk because of how shallow and hollow The Witcher 3 was in every single respect on a mechanical level. Especially the way gameplay was put in a back-seat. Most boring and pointless leveling and skill distribution system in any RPG ever. Least meaningful emphasis on stats since Gothic games. They simply couldn't bear the burden of their own ambitions and sewed the whole using really backward compromises and half-measures.

Quantic Dream - they only focus on wowing casual gamers with their cinematographic presentation and delivering shitty, overwrought self-indulgent stories that don't even reach "mediocre" level in already low Hollywood standards.

On Quantic Dream David Cage actually hired some new writers for their upcoming game so it should be a bit different from his self-indulgent previous works.

The Witcher 3 is very overrated. I don't even know if I ever finish that game. It's not bad it's really boring at times and story is not really grabbing me despite the good writing.

Infinity Ward - Once great but now a shell of its former self

Crytek - Crysis was decent, but went downhill from there.

Bioware - ME3 Ending was a real stab in the back

Intelligent systems - Fire emblem is now like Pokemon selling the same game twice, their latest strategy game looks awful and worst of all they made sticker star.

Ubisoft. I think it works best if I assume that their games will be shit, because anticipating them hasn't done me any favours over the past several years.

Also Bethesda, because they're the pillars of shit game design and even shittier writing.

Lots of gaming kiddies don't get what concept/aim talk means. he wasn't completely wrong, it just didn't meet gamers expectations.. which isn't suprising... because we consumors are idiots that want the earth, without knowing how it works or what it takes.

Anyway for me.

Sony...

Still waiting for greatness, still waiting for non-bought exclusives that arn't 10 hour tech demo shooters.

Still waiting....

Devs:

Bioware (to a tiny extent) - I have no problems when they did Mass Effect, Dragon Age and the first KOTOR, but NEVER give them a Japanese IP again.

Gearbox (to a tiny extent) - The Colonial Marines fiasco hurt my reception with them, however I still do like Borderlands like you TC, but I'm glad I got the second game used when I was still in England.

DICE - I have no hope in them on delivering a solid Star Wars game, though part of that is EA and Disney's fault.

Pubs:

EA - There's a reason I put their products released since 2013 and onward on my blacklist, and unfortunately, that includes Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Capcom - This will likely change a bit given how they seem to be treating Street Fighter V, but with the on-disc DLC bullshit with Street Fighter X Tekken and making a recent lackluster Mega Man Collection with less content than a collection from TWO freaking gens ago (I'd understand it if it was something like Sonic Classic Collection, considering that was on a handheld and naturally, had less games than most Sonic Collections), I'm still cautious on them.

Konami - Need I say more?

Anything with Denis Dyack's name on it - There's a reason hardly anybody wanted to fund Shadow of Eternals. I know I surely wouldn't have bought the game, nevermind how much I love Eternal Darkness.

Care to explain how it was any worse than The Witcher 2?

I was thinking that.

He's talking as if the Witcher ever had ANY combat/RPG substance..... it never did.... it was always incredibly shallow.

Bungie is walking a thin line with me...TTK expansion made me believe again....but any more of that DLC they call expansion nonsense and I'm done with them.

Bungie - was one of my favorite devs, but destiny ruined that. such a crap game. getting 140+ dollars for a half baked game filled with lies about their content

Dice - makes terrible shooters that are broken on release

Naughty Dog - their "style" of game bores the hell out of me.

RAD - the way they handled the order was abysmal, not only was the game terrible, they acted like children in defending it

Ubisoft - no matter how good their games look, they always fall short of being good, which sucks becuase for honor and the division both look awesome, but they will probably end up sucking.

Right....

Building ontop of some of the best lead Multiplayer games in the industry, with constant updates, feature improvements, hell DoTA has been moved up to Source 2... no doubt CS:GO and maybe TF2 (assuming TF3 doesn't get announced) will to.

Offering fantastic services with Steam.

Pushing affordable gaming hardware, and spearheading streaming services.

Supporting/majorly backing the VR move... and integrating it heavily into Steam itself in the future/present.

But yes... CD Project Red.... made a few RPGs (albiet good ones) ...

But yes, just because they are not churning out portal sequals, and yet another FPS that will never live up to the hype.. "They arn't doing anything for gamers".

They really aren't making anything for gamers but their self-interest! You actually think that DRM is good for PC gaming? If you get banned from Steam today, how the hell will you be able to play your games? Refunds don't apply with a ban! They tried to monetize paid mods for crying out loud! Also, VR isn't going to take off but only cater to a niche. They're only focus on e-sports and trying to transition PC gaming into console gaming!

You actually think that DRM is good for PC gaming - no, but then they didn't start DRM ... and what the hell do you have to do to get banned short of hacking to a ridiculous degree? even then its usually just a VAC ban.... short of doing something criminal... that is highly unlikely to ever happens.

They tried to monetize pad mods - and it failed, so its gone, nobody can deny they tried to profit, but the modders obviously wanted a shot at it too... (tbh I dont blame them) ... but hey.

VR isn't going to take off .... you can't be serious.....

They're only focus on e-sports and trying to transition PC gaming into console gaming! - .... you shouldn't go full.....

Polyphony. How can a developer be allowed to have unlimited dev time and still have a "final" product that features two different levels of detail for cars?

Honestly I'd probably say Bungie. Bungie had my complete support in the Halo games. Adored every single one.

This is how it went for me:

I was definitely interested in Destiny. The beta was dull though. Okay, I'll hold off to see what reviewers and the general consensus is. Not great? Well, I'll wait till it drops in price a significant amount. Awesome, got it on a deal. Let's play this thing. Looks great. What the hell am I doing. Here again? This planet is similar to the last planet I was just on, just a different skin. So bored. That Strike was pretty fun. Ugh this is a waste of time.

So yeah, I didn't have a good time with it. Meanwhile, I still enjoy Halo. Halo 4 was my favorite campaign yet. Halo 5 looks awesome. The Taken King? Eh... I hear good things but can't be bothered.

Capcom. Buy a game at full price. Notice half the characters are locked, on the disc, behind a paywall even though I've laid down £50.00. Also, even shit like new costumes are behind a paywall.

Notice a few months later there is a definitive edition with all characters...for half price. No.

- Bioware - Ever since they gave up making RPGs and went full on with the watered down action games instead. The Dragon Age 2 demo was the last Bioware title I touched.

- Bethesda - For their poorly written, dumbed down buggy console ports. Still have great modding potential, but no more day one purchases.

- DICE - For their insanely buggy, "codized" battlefield franchise.

- Maxis - This one hurts the most. 3 of their last 4 titles were crippled by invasive DRM practices, and most recently turned the Sims 4 neighborhoods into claustrophically small areas peppered with loading screens everywhere.

To answer the question I don't trust anything involving Ubisoft, Bethesda Dice. Not to say I won't buy their products, but I'm skeptical of anything they do.

It would be quicker to list the devs I do trust...

for the purposes of this thread I'll list devs I think are capable of making good games but frequently seem to **** up since there are so many devs I don't "trust" to make good games all

Bioware - I loved ME3, but DAI was in retrospect a pretty bad RPG even though I enjoyed it at the time, and i fear ME4 will get the same MMO-design treatment.

DICE - been fucking it up since BC2 but I at least found BF3 and 4 engaging

Creative Assembly - they are just wildly inconsistent but Total Warhammer is looking good

Ubisoft as a whole - lots of talent and lots of terrible management and disorganization.

Ubisoft. Their demos are the reason.

Now I buy most of their games later except for Michael ancel, the guy behind rayman and now making WILD on ps4.
