It's about as meaningful as listing COD: Ghosts as a new IP tho.locopatholol

These games represent the maximum of what Nintendo is capable of. Define your opinion of the company based on this list.http://kyoto-report.wikidot.com/forum/t-469495
So.....ummmmm....why are people saying they don't make new stuff?Even if you don't like/agree with 10 or 20 of the stuff on that list there is still like another 20.

When in the hell is Nintendo Wars, Geist, Donkey Kong, and Eternal Darkness all third party? Last I checked, Nintendo still owns those IPs.He meant the developer even if Nintendo owns the IP; He wanted a list of just titled developed by Nintendo.Third party developed or not, Nintendo still owns them.[QUOTE="nintendoboy16"]

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem 3rd party
Donkey Konga 3rd party
Battalion Wars 3rd party
Geist 3rd partyNintendo_Ownes7
I always thought of it as a Supernatural First Person Shooter where you can possess other players.Since when was Geist a horror game?
Michael0134567
If it was Horror you would be the one getting scared not the one doing the scaring.
By all accounts Geist was a great idea poorly executed. A quick Wiki tells me "Game Informer lists the game among the worst horror games of all time." and Edge said "Unfortunately, no sooner does Geist suggest it can blossom into something fresh and exciting that its undermined at every turn by a frustrating insistence on being nothing more than a mundane firstperson shooter"
It's like an MS fan listing Too Human as a great new MS ip. It was a great idea but the actual game was a flawed mess.
locopatho
I see a lot of fans that really like this game. And if we're going with the opinions of reviewers and journalists as a base, the guy who wrote the review on our very own Gamespot gave it a 7.8/10, which is basically an 8, and there were a couple of other reviewers that gave it a good score. I think opinions on this game aren't one sided at all. It's more of a hate/love situation, from what i can tell.

I really don't see how it's a horror game. Makes no sense to list it there.

I was going by Metacritic where it got a 66. There are games like that, love it or hate it type games. I'm glad some people enjoyed it. I enjoyed Too Human, warts and all. I don't think it belongs on a list of great games tho. Most of their recent(last five years or so) new ips were either minigame collections on wii (xenoblade aside) or small eshop titles for 3ds. Where are the last of us, beyond two souls type games with big budgets targeted at adult, core gamers? Something like eternal darkness would be appreciated. MFDOOM1983
Those types of games don't cater to Nintendo's current users. Nintendo is after the kids/families and fans of Nintendo properties, with the same library.Â
There is also the AAA tier which consits of 3D Mario, 3D Metroid and 3D Zelda. And now Bayonetta 2 / Xenoblade 2. They are the critical darlings running for GOTY/90%+ scores which reach out to a wider audience (not just Nintendo fans, but the general core gamer). It's in this category you find non-Nintendo fans buying a Nintendo system to enable them to play 4-5 gems.
That's it really. A new IP AAA effort that targets the male 20-30s audience would be a waste of valuable resources, a flop, since the market isn't there. Just like there is no market for Banjo Threeie / TimeSplitters 4 on DudebroBox.
[QUOTE="Nintendo_Ownes7"]Endless Ocean is a new IP even if it is similar to Arika's other games Everblue on the PS2 since Nintendo owns the IP of Endless Ocean it is the spiritual successor meaning it is a new IP. It's the exact same as the Forever Blue series, they just renamed it to avoid copyright issues. It's like calling Black Ops a new IP compared to Modern Warfare. It's the same thing with a different name...[QUOTE="locopatho"]They do make new IPs. But Nintendo fans ALWAYS smuch together multiple consoles and handhelds to make their lists, when people are generally talking about one console. They also add in Japan only games, crappy games, and some veeery questionable "new" IPs. Battalion Wars, Donkey Konga, Excite Truck, Endless Ocean etc aren't new IPs just because of a different name/genre. That's like calling Halo Wars or that Uncharted card game new IPs. You could make a much shorter, much more honest, much more impressive list by filtering out the crap and lies.locopatho
And the Tomb Raider reboot is Uncharted reskinned.
This whole argument is silly.

Not when it's the same developer. A dev renaming their series from Everblue to Forever Blue for legal reasonsm isn't a new IP, sorry :(WiiMusic sucked but Wii Sports and Fit scored well so they countLuigi's Mansion
Pikmin
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
GiFTPiA
Donkey Konga
Battalion Wars
Geist
Chibi-Robo!
Odama____
Nintendo Wii
Art Style
Wii Sports
Excite Truck
Wii Play
Endless Ocean
Wii Fit
Wii Music
Disaster: Day of Crisis
Captain Rainbow
Common sense of people power TV
Tact of Magic
FlingSmash
Dynamic Slash
And-Kensaku
Pandora's Tower
Kiki Trick
Xenoblade Chronicles
The Last Story
Zangeki no Reginleiv___
Â
You have to be joking with this list. Disaster Day of Crisis was a bomb. All those "WII" titled games are suck. And Nintendo is reusing their cannon character it doesn't count. Luigi's mansion is still Luigi again and Donkey konga? OKAY.Â

A dev renaming their series from Everblue to Forever Blue for legal reasonsm isn't a new IP, sorry :( Under your logic, GRID isn't a new IP because it's DIRT on roads. Uncharted is a rehash of Tomb Raider mixed with Gears of War, Torchlight is a Diablo clone, and Killzone is a Halo clone.Need help taking off your fanboy shades? They block a lot of truthWhat is that list? I see nothing. I only see Pikmin, and i dont care about it

Nintendo makes tons of new IPs. I don't think that was ever in question. I think people are talking about consoles though and not downloadable games which shrinks the list. Its not bad though, they could stand to release more new IPs. Pikmin, Wii series, Last Story, Xenoblade and Pandora's Tower were all a good start. They need to just do a better mix of old and new.

It was just going to be called Modern Warfare or something else. Before Modern Warfare Call of Duty was synonymous with WWII.
