Still waiting for Rune factory Gamespot review? That game came out like 4 months ago. It would be an embarrassment for Gamespot to review this game now. I don't think they would want their reputation ruin.
I'm sure this was a flop....good score none the less.

It might have been a flop. I think the hype was 8.5 - 9.0 after all the AAA scores came in. But it seems a little petty to start calling it a flop now, when none of the sheep are surprised, much less disappointed, by this score.
Damn the Wii's on fire lately, 3 8.5's in the space of like 3 or so weeks. I think that brings its 09 total to 7AAE and 6AE. Also by the sound of it the game itself is AAA quality but a weak story and sometimes annoying sound effects are what held the total score from showing that.

Most hyped AA (some AAA) and on GR its like on 86-87% so it meet the hype and everyones happy with it so yeah.
8.5 is a great score and now people who don't want to see Wii fans happy are in here saying "This was definitely hyped as being AAA". There was no hype thread as far as I can tell.
Gameplay doesn't look too hot. Out of curiosity, DID anyone play Rune Factory Frontier? I'd be interested to hear some opinions as I'm a huge fan of Harvest Moon.

Because Gamespot didn't review this game, it cease to exist. Best Harvest Moon to date. Already 100+ hours on it.

But from what I recall it was AA hype.

Frontier is the best harvest moon game.Ever. My only issue with this game, is the loading times and how annoying its to advance certain key stages without having a girl love you, and that takes time.But from graphics to content, this is the most epic and huge Harvest moon.

im buying it, just waiting for it to arrive the shores. Oh according to metacritics and GR, Gamespot is in the lowish mid side of the average. The average score is 87ish-90ish , worldwide critics have given higher scores to LKS than Punch Out!! and Infamous.

Its not a big tltle. And lack of excitement? I dunno...the art style isn't exciting. The way you play isn't very exciting. You really have to love the genre to really want to play this game. Personally RPG's and RTS games don't interest me.
I was expecting AAA, oh well, it's still a great score and it's been on my wishlist for quite some time. It's already released over here - only thing preventing me from buying it is my backlog and that there is still room for price cuts. P.S. It's currently around £17 in the UK at the moment.

What's with the attack on the story? There isn't anything wrong with it. Sure it's not deep or anything, but it does it's job as a frame for progression through the game. Not only that but the totally wacky bosses and nicely drawn cutscenes are greatly entertaining. I find it a bit much that that can be seen as such an issue. This is not a traditional RPG and shouldn't be judged as one.
EDIT: Though the game deserves to be marked down a bit for the somewhat broken controls. I would still give these a 9 at the least.

The production value of LKS is pretty good actually.
As always, I honestly don't care as I think almost all of us know(Despite what the rules say) that gamespot reviews are, in general, trash. My guess is that they would have given it AAA, but for a "squeaky noise" and "Poor story" when the story isn't that important anyways. Pity.

This is so false. This would be the case if a Wii game score of 8 was equal to a 360/PS3 game score of 8. But they aren't equal. And you know that.

As far as I'm concerned LKS is the best game I've played this year. Compared to games like Killzone 2 it's far more deserving of a 9.
Are denying the fact that WIi titles are graded on a different scale than 360/PS3? :lol: Look at a 360/PS3 review and see how they get knocked for framerate, screen tearing, jaggies, etc. Things that occur by pushing the more powerful hardware. If the Wii doesn't have to do that puching, how can the grading be equal? This is common knowledge here in SW. Catch up.
