LittleBigPlanet will be the most important game ever, says source

Word from a SCEE press tour for LittleBigPlanet this week says Media Molecule has come up with something very special indeed in LittleBigPlanet.

"It's going to be the most important game ever," said an attendee. "It's just astonishing. "

The press was given two hours hands-on with the PS3 game, including full access to single-player, the level editor and "everything else".

Our source says the code was still fairly flaky and crashed multiple times during the session – the developer recently said it was entering the alpha stage of development – but that the game itself was looking robust.

"I think it's literally bug-stomping now," said our man. "The game is astoundingly smooth."

LittleBigPlanet has no fixed date at the moment aside from "September"

that's taking it too far imo.. but i'm sure the game will be one of the best this year.

It does look like a great game, as long as you have a good imagination there is no end to what you can make.

Personally I want to make a catapult, one of those boxers like GS did once, and a destructable castle.

Sure, its going to be brilliant....but not the most important game ever, No game deserves that title

The best a game can do imo is: The Most Important Game at the time, not ever, because it will always be bettered by something else

yep, unfortuantelty its not my imagionation thats the problem but being able to remember everything I have thought of for this game!

I'll stick with Garry's Mod for my creative needs.

Still though i like the idea behing LBP, originality is always a huge welcome in the gaming industry... Let's just hope it gets released around september...

yeah, i know. i was playing Mario kart wii with my girlfiend and she loves it. We go way back and we played mario kart 64 and Diddy kong racing together (as well as the old Abe games, mario games, etc..) but now she gets motion sickness from it....... i hate that.. and so doe she.. she really loves the game...

It might be the most important game for the PS3 though....maybe that's what he meant. I can't really see this being the most important game ever. But I have no doubt this title will fill a huge gap the PS3 seems to have with current casual gamers. Maybe they are hoping this is their ticket to get back where PS2 left off.

I don't think spore is the most important ever. I think it's the most important this year though. I don't think LBP is really even close to spore.

I like video games and my 8 year old son likes video games but we only play Resistance co-op together. This game will have both of us on the screen with the wife yelling in the background lol. Yo it beats planting seeds with him tho like other parents.

Yea I know Resistance is an M rated game but its not that bad when you really think about it he's a though kid.

Most important game ever? Why?

It's a ****ing platformer people, a platformer with some cool world creation elements and multiplayer. That's it, really. Why would anyone think this is going to be the most important game ever?

I mean, yeah, it looks like it's somewhat innovative and maybe pretty fun, but I see nothing there that screams "ZOMG, industry revolution!"

People seem to hold this and Spore on some glorious pedestal of gaming divinity as if they will transcend the medium itself and become something more altogether. I look at these game's following, and I see a bunch of people swept up in the tornado of anticipation that comes with any title on which the label of "innovative" can be firmly and securely slapped.

I look at the games themselves and I see cool, innovative titles that have some potential to be very entertaining... nothing more, nothing less.

The day this game comes out, is the day I get a PS3. This game alone is justification enough in my eyes.

Look at as a big platforming puzzle, peope that enjoy creating or interacting with puzzles will enjoy this game....why would there be destruction in LBP?

Looks interesting but..'Most important game ever' what does that make Garry's Mod? God. And to the guy who said it goes on the wii:

1. It wouldn't look as great

2. It wouldn't be able to save as many levels due to no HDD

3. There would be less editing options due to disc space (maybe)

4. The physics might not be done as well, as the physics look very well done for a 2D game

lol garrys mod is 1000x better then lil big planet honest this is a simple fact every thing that could or ever been done in LBP could and has been done in garrys mod, atleast with that its based on a good engine, and a good game, LBP is a lil kiddy looking game.

ofcourse, PC is god and you are it's master.
