why do you even bother?

people buy a console for the very reason that they don't have to worry about it's technical specs they just know that when they put the disc in the game will work.

you can argue that all you want but you realise no one is listening because they are probably sitting on the couch right now playing and their having fun... thats all that matters.

Wrong... in the case of the MGS series, the graphics and gameplay have never been the highlight of the game so much as the plot. That's why I think it's kind of weird that cows are trying to hype MGS4's graphics and gameplay... the story is the thing that makes MGS amazing.

I think that the GPU's RAM is the main factor here that will decide over texture quality. And you would have to buy a whole new video card to get better results.

Mines runs fine on a 3870 on high....and it's playable on veryhigh on dx10 too... a little choppy, but I'm running vista with 2gb RAM lol, so thats to be expected

I think he mentioned he had a 8800GTS 640mb? He must be lucky to get decent performance, because as far as I know, that's the one without the new g92 core chip

MGS4 has a lot to offer. eg. story.

i like playing games on my pc but i just cant see myself playing MGS4 with a mouse & kb..

I laugh at PC gamers, they compare every game to Crysis because that's the only game they have

No one ever said MGS4 was better looking then crysis, maybe some blind fanboys. I could care less if MGS4 isnt the best looking game, I already know it aint, but the graphics are good enough for me and its the story from this series is what gets me to love this series so much, something not even the great looking crysis can ever come close to. Crysis might have better graphics but as an all around expirience that is almost great in one whole package of a game. I think MGS4 will be better then crysis. Im even willing to bet that MGS4 will have a better all around score on gamerankings. Thats just how good this game is going to be. :)

8800gts - $230

e6550 - $160

2gb Ram - $50

Then theres the case, power supply unit, motherboard, cooler, optical drive, hard drive, additional pci (tv tuner/network card), monitor, sound cards and most of all the prices have gone down since then. But ill give you the benifit of the doubt and assume your telling the truth and it really did cost $900.

I already had a monitor you know and a decent one at that,sound card and network card are built in the motherboard.

An overclocked 8800GTS 640MB is a real monster and just as good as an 8800GT and only 10% worse than an 8800GTX.

Admittedly the textures are poor, but if you think the overall graphics are bad then you're either mad, or spoiled by crysis' graphics.

The second, Hermits need to face that apart from Crysis most of their games don't look much better than consoles best looking games, and that Crysis only looks so good because you need to upgrade your computer to play it on the best settings.
